Anyone in 4/25 class?

Anyone in 04/25 class? I applied 02/14/13 and got an invite for the first facetime interview the next day for 02/16/13, no questionaire. My facetime interview went well and was told that the position starts at $16.50 full time. They went ahead and scheduled me for the would be 3rd interview with a team leader for 02/21. That went great as well and so I was told that I would be hearing something in two weeks. I got the BGC email that same day and so Im on week 3 since the BGC cleared and have not heard anything as of yet. Wanted to know if anyone else is in my same situation? All I see are people scheduled for the 03/25 class? thanks

I'm guessing you fell in right at the beginning of a hiring cycle. No news is good news. The wait sucks but 3+ weeks is not unheard of since they do all the offer calls in batches. If you start seeing messages here about others for your start date getting callbacks and you not then there may be some worry. If you make it to the BGC step, which costs apple money, you are likely hired unless something major popped up. If you somehow make it a month from BGC completion and not a peep you may want to give your recruiter a call, but I would suspect you would get your offer call soon.

I'm up for 4-15, and we were told not to expect to hear anything before this week. If you are in the 4-25 class, you may not hear back until next week or so. Just an educated guess...

I totally hear you. Im on 3+ weeks as well but for 4.15. I know how everyone talks about when you get to the BGS stage.. but it is not a done deal until you get that offer call so that makes me very anxious. Lets hope to hear back soon.

btw I've noticed a lot of you were told how much you will be getting paid. I was never informed of anything about the pay info.

Yea they asked me how much I was getting paid at my current job and I told them and they said right away how much this position starts at, so atleast it gives an outlook on how much to expect and maybe something to work on if we get a chance to negotiate.

As far as having a dedicated landline...is it required to have long distance?? Or can I just have a basic local residential phone??

I'm pretty sure the PBX works on placing an incoming call to our line and then uses a system(probably avaya or something similar) to route calls in to us. Since you would only need to receive that one call to be connected, long distance is likely not needed, just the ability to receive a call.

Basic no features line is what the require. no call waiting no LD ect.

first time applying for Apple

I still haven't hear from Apple about the job......:(....I don't like people say that 3 to 5 business days and no one call me or email me....and told me that i have to do other interview.....Yesterday, was the fifth business day what Tuesday is going to sixth business day I might hear from them or Wednesday is going to seventh business day I might hear from them.....I might just give up on Apple....Because, I have plan B as a job and plan C as a job.... I will try to wait for them to contact me....

I agree, sounds like they've given up on you. Guess it's time to look to plan B or C. It's such a shame, I have a feeling reading notes on repeat calls from you would've been fun.

You might be wasting valuable time. I would focus on plan B or C rather than idly waiting.

i am all ready working with plan B....I love to work with computers...I been working with computers all my life....

Is Apple or Hireright going to email you information into your regular email or junk email?

They cant intentionally email in to your junk folder...
You can contact your recruiter and ask for an update.

Yes, sometimes do leave in junk or trash folder. :)

I am currently applying for the position and wondering if anyone generally knows what the work is like

Taking phone call after phone call, sometimes with a few seconds between sometimes not, from overprivileged people who think they know more than you and don't need your help or people who don't know where the apple button in the corner of the screen or the settings button is, pushing products at every opportunity, and maintaining a positive attitude while doing so.

Call center work is not for the feint of heart. You must have the ability to accept responsibility for others actions as you now represent a company and not just yourself so your co-workers screw ups with the onus of apologizing and rectifying their mistakes totally on your shoulders should you be the next person to assist their customer. You also need to have a tremendous amount of patience, an ability to not take things personally, and a willingness to commit yourself to assisting people who treat you totally differently than they would other people just because they have a customer is always right mentality and know they will never see you face to face.

----------

Its very tricky to separate yourself from all of it to be able to cope and maintain the level of empathy and the correct tone and demeanor needed. Those that can, can make it far. Those that don't burn out quickly. This is an industry with a ridiculously high turnover rate for a reason.

----------

As long as all of this does not bother you then the stuff that people think will be hardest, the technical aspects, will be as easy as applying a little sense and making use of resources to find and eschew answers.

I don't mean to discourage anyone, just wanting to upfront. I've been doing this kind of work for a while. It can be very fulfilling if you have thick skin and can remember that it's just a job. Don't let it get to you and take it one call at a time. You do quite often have those brighter moments as well where you help someone fix something that they thought was lost for good or when you start a call with an angry customer and they are praising your skills at the end telling you you deserve a raise etc.

Aha Australia

Hey
Anyone had any experience with the hireing process in Australia for that aha position? Just seeing if any Aussies have had luck with it

This job isn't about how good you are with computers, its about how good you are with people.
