I am getting a little bummed out. I was told on my 2nd interview that I would should get the email to schedule the third on wed/thrus last week. I still have not heard anything. :(

They email you the fed ex label which has a tracking # on it

I know that but FedEx sent me multiple emails about the paperwork when it was coming to me so I was wondering if it did the same on the way back. I haven't had a chance to check the tracking number since I dropped it off yesterday. Thanks :D

Just keep in mind that the people hiring for Apple -- recruiters, hiring managers, team managers, etc. -- are just people. People tend to procrastinate, or fall behind schedule, or overbook their time.

For example, last Friday I got an email from my recruiter apologizing for the delay in my hiring process (which was actually the second email I received from her similar to this). I got my offer call on Monday. So...human. Don't doubt yourself already. :)

Oh good to know long distance will work!

That is great news about insurance I thought you had to be out of training. Thanks!! :)

Insurance starts right away. Word from inside ld shouldn't be an issue

Thanks I will take notes! I have experience with iphone, iPad and pc so hopefully training won't be too hard.

They are tough. Very tough. Pay attention. Take notes. Ask questions.

Thanks for the kind words.. But unfortunately I just got the Thanks but no thanks email :( I really wanted this job

It's over. Thank Goodness. I will now just wait to see if I'm one of the lucky ones that receives that BGC email. I will say this, the team manager that interviewed me was very thorough. We went through two different role plays and they seemed to go great. However, she was extensive in her troubleshooting questioning. I was asked about RAM (what it is and how it works), USB troubleshooting (she wanted specific steps), Printers not working, WiFi not working, setting up new monitors, devices not being recognized in iTunes, and so forth. It was very extensive. I was truly not prepared for the depth of her questioning. She did relay to me that she is a new team manager promoted from Tier 1; so maybe she was just trying to be as thorough as possible. She was extremely nice though. I just pray that she saw potential in me and does not dwell on the areas that I may have lacked in. Her interview lasted an hour and I was told during my second interview that it would be 20-30 minutes. I am not posting this to scare anyone. I just want everyone to know that there are some managers out there that are very in-depth during their questioning. Again, I appreciate everyone that has posted and helped me get this far. I am praying and crossing my fingers! Thank you all!

Sorry man, but after the third if they don't flat out tell you "You got it, you will get an email soon, then you didn't get it." =( My interview lasted 5 minutes. Said you're in, be ready for email. Sorry.

Ohhh...I'm so sorry. Don't give up though. Lots of ppl here have reapplied...

Definitely keep applying, I'm sure I'm not the only one leaving AHA when the new shifts go into effect early next month. I'm not sure what the turnover rate is but its pretty high, hence the non-stop hiring. Call volume has gone down roughly 25% since last year (market saturation) but they still keep hiring.

Hey guys, been following this thread closely and just a question regarding the full month training (not sure if you guys are allowed to disclose).

Do they take attendance throughout the session (as in do they check if you are sitting in front of the Mac)? Would I be able to record the presentation externally (via a camcorder or something) and then learn on my own on the weekend?

What are the new shifts going in to effect next month?

They vary from 7 AM to 11 PM CST. Most everyone gets the 7 - 11PM CST shift... which I'm just not going to do(I'm on days now). I'm on EST and I'm not taking phone calls from angry iPhone owners at 11:30 PM.

Hmm...can you elaborate? Does everyone get the 7 - 11PM CST shift now (as in, it recently changed), or is that the standard shift for how far into this you are...? Use as many words as you need to elaborate. ;)

Truthfully, that wasn't the case for me personally, and I know of a couple of other new-hires that couldn't get a straight answer at the end of the 3rd interview, either.

My personal 3rd interview experience: the interview lasted about 40 minutes; we chit-chatted a lot between questions (although it was relative to the questions); at the end of the interview, he would only speak in "if"'s (like, "...if you move on..." and "...if you receive an email from us..."). When I asked him how he thought I did, he very plainly told me that he wasn't allowed to say "at this stage" in the process. It made me nervous, because others had told me that that kind of phrasing meant I hadn't done well.
Nevertheless, here I am a few weeks later, all hired and ready to do some paperwork. I think each interviewer is different, and their processes are different as well. You can get a general idea of what the overall process is like from the forum, but it is harder to make conclusive & declaritive assumptions based on things your interviewer said.

This thread has gone for helpful to just annoying. I was in your shoes once before and I felt anxious as well. Want a truthful answer for every question you have? It takes as long as it takes. Period. So your interviewer didn't say you got the job? Well you'll either get a background check email or a thanks for playing email. Seriously the "how long does it take" questions probably take up 75% of this thread. I even admit I was one of them at first but after going through it all I can tell you it takes as long as it takes. Move on and make this thread worth reading and getting involved in again.

You sound like that angry gerbil guy :)

I'm a man of few words so my answer is - you get what you get. When you're fresh out of training you'll have some input as far as schedules but very little. Some people get weekends off but most will work on Sat. Some people get day shifts but most will work evenings. When you have enough time in to do shift bids you'll have a shot at a better schedule but there's no guarantee. I was pretty high up on the list in terms of shift preferences but still ended up with a crappy shift (late shift weekdays and all day Sat.)

If I actually liked this job I would put up with the 8PM - 12AM time slot but I don't.

Got a phone call from a recruiter really out of the blue. It had been years since I last applied to Apple. I'm about to graduate with double major foreign language degrees. Not sure how this job would utilize anything I have learned so far, but I love working with electronics.

I think the pay is around ~16 dollars an/hour according to the recruiter with full benefits. It's not a lot of money but I think its a great starting position.

Anyone know anything about internal advancement opportunities with Apple?

I will be reapplying. Like I said I really wanted this opportunity. I am kind of gutted that I did not even get the third interview.

The third interview was so brutal for me, just happened

It was with the team leader guy, he asked some customer service questions from my time at Gamestop and I think I did well in those. Then the scenario questions came up and I would explain how I would try to fix them and I was always missing something so simple. He would be like "well, what about this? what am I trying to do? ok well, AFTER I reinstall iTunes... (because that was a suggestion I had to one of the questions). He didn't say when or if they would get back to me or anything so I don't know. I mean, if he was looking for customer service more than how I would solve a problem, then maybe. I could just be over reacting, Either way I'm drinking all the Budweisers in my fridge and going to play some Skyrim. Good luck to you other guys applying
