Anybody up for the 4/15 class get an offer call today? My panic-inducing, self-doubt mongering brain monsters are driving me NUTS...

It amazes me how some like to place judgement on others. In response to reading the thread to find an answer...yes this thread dates back to 2011 of a lot of info. And yes, I've read most of it. Some information I may not retain because it's just to relevant to me. Some of us may not make to the time to fully research for a specific answer. One reason for me...I have a life outside of being on a blog all day. I can care less about someone's angry or nasty attitude on this blog. Thank you to all who can show some type of kindness to those that have questions or those that just have a comment. See you all later! :apple::cool::apple:

Sorry but the question you asked required nothing more than to put "aha apple job" in google and to bring up the actual job requirements on apple's job site. One half of this job is being able to research and find solutions as quickly as possible... with sometimes very little to go on.

I don't expect people to parse this whole thread trying to find an answer to a specific question but I've seen too many asked in this thread that were easily answered with google and 15 seconds of time. If you don't have drive, curiosity and initiative I don't want you working on my Macbook or iPhone.

Angry? No Judgmental? You bet

This isn't a blog. This is a full-fledged forum with many subforums within it. As a consumer, I really would hope that if I for some reason called Apple for tech support that I would not get someone who doesn't even know the difference between a blog and an actual discussion forum. If they don't even know about that very basic online situation or care about knowing the difference, my question becomes: why would this individual care about or be informed about or actually able to help me with whatever question I might have?

Ah, but you have not yet been hired by Apple, have you?

Actually I was hired! And the hiring manager stated that I am the best interviewer she's ever had and that I set the bar! So with my experience and knowledge spoke for itself unlike some people. I'm not here to belittle anyone, like some other people are. Blog or forum...same difference. Excuse me for using the incorrect term. And for the others who negatively commented...I read the FORUM from the beginning to the end over a month ago. It has a lot of information. As far as my one question that irritated the negative people, I received my answer with my own resource as well as the positive one's who didn't mind refreshing my memory! Thanks to the positive one's!!!

Just a quick update. I got my offer call just now and it's official once I accept the email. What a relief! Can't wait to start on 15th April, said computer will be arriving on 12th!

Me too me too me too!!! I got my offer call just a little while ago. Starting April 15th, with Wayne. :) Thank you, again and again, to everyone who contributed to this site. And especially to those who offered funny or soothing comments when I was pulling my hair out.

What a great community to be a part of!

I agree, the process has been easy with this forum. Well I guess I will be seeing you in training!

Great news, TeeLee!!! Congratulations!

For anyone who wonders, I am not an applicant, but somehow I stumbled into this thread a while back and have been following it with interest ever since. More power to everyone who is striving for one of these positions and even greater power to those who are already working in them! Not easy, I am very sure!

Well good luck and keep us posted. From this point on it's pretty smooth sailing. I love San Diego, did Military training there for a while.

Thank you, I most definitely will! and really? How cool is that :) How many years were you out here?

yaaaaaaay congrats!! I knew you would get it!!!! :D:D:D

I completed my interview via Skype over a month ago and received an email for my background check the same day as the interview. My background check has been completed for a couple of weeks now but I have not received an offer call or an email saying no thanks.

Has anyone else went through the background check and not received an offer? (My check was definitely clean)

Also, has everyone that didn't receive an offer received at least an email saying that they were no longer being considered?

I'm just completely confused on why Apple would waste money on a background check if they didn't intend to hire me.

I am assuming they for get sometimes with all the applicants they receive daily. My recommendation is to email your recruiter and follow up.

you're hired trust me.....it took me almost a month to get my offer call after the background check completed...we have all gone through that long wait..some longer than others...i had discrepancies on my backgound check and still was hired so you will be fine....all you can do is wait

Great news, TeeLee!!! Congratulations!

Congrats to those who were hired! To those that are waiting...remain patient!

Thank you! [insert happy dance here ]

Just a quick note that may help: there has been a theory kinda floating around on the thread about when the offer calls actually happen, and I have noticed that the pattern usually holds true. Someone suggested that the offer calls seem to come roughly a month before the person's start/training date. For the corporate position, that does seem to be the pattern - Wayne & I both got our calls today, and we start training on April 15th. (There are other examples in previous pages, but now I'm too high and mighty to cite them. ;) )
The student positions, on the other hand, seem to have a different set of rules b/c the training is set up a lot differently...
Does that help at all?

Final Interview Tomorrow at 12:15 EST

Hello All! First, I want to say thanks to each of you who contributes to this forum. The information is very informative. Second, I want to say congratulations to the ones who have gotten their offers! Way to go! Finally, I want to say that I'm so NERVOUS. My third and final interview is tomorrow. I can honestly say that I do not do well with interviews. I tend to go blank. Do any of you have any last words of advice or wisdom for me? Like: what questions may be asked, and if I'm under consideration will the interviewer tell me? I know Windows inside and out. I've worked on Windows PC's for over ten years. However, Apple is a new, yet intriguing world for me. I love technology and I truly want to be a part of Apple's team. Anyway, I've gotten off track. Any last bits of advice? If it goes well, will the interviewer tell me or will I have to play the waiting game? It's all gone very quickly for me thus far. I completed my profile and sent in my resume' last week. I received a phone call from a recruiter about two hours later along with a questionnaire. I was set up for a face interview the next day. Finally, a week later, I'm up for my last interview. I'm hoping for the best! Thanks to all that contribute here!

Frustarted

Hi everyone! I just cant believe that I still have not heard anything! Not even a call! I am so frustrated that I could scream! I have created another Apple ID, revised my cover letter and resume. I even applied for every At Home Job that I qualify for and I still have not heard anything. I originally appled on January 29th and still nothing! I have seen where several people have been in my shoes and it took a long time but once again its hard when you see everyone else receiving calls and emails and nothing for me! I am very happy for everyone that has been hired but I am so frustrated!!! Ugh!!! Just ventng!!!!! Good luck to everyone who is patiently waiting!

I agree with you, but lets clear one thing up, it's not a blog it's a forum, 2nd thing is people who actually want the job and care wouldn't mind taking the time to research and go through the motions like everyone else has. I agree don't be rude, but at the same time don't be rude to come into a Forum that has been around since 2011 and just skip to the end and ask a question. It's not being lazy it shows your character and the type of worker you are. One who just wants results and others to do it for them. I can assure you that 99% of the job questions, the type of work you will be doing, pay and all that good stuff is listed. Take the time. OH and I have 4 kids and a full time job and still managed to do it. If you really want the job it will pay off just reading. Good luck to everyone.

Bottom line is if you can't do your research do not apply.
This is a research oriented job, so looking for answers here will help you once you get hired . If you can't take time to research your info and answers, then you are not going to make it past the new hire training and tests, let alone the job.

I was in the same boat -- I know Windows really well, but not Apple's OS. I actually told my last interviewer that, and he gave me a few tips on how to make the transition (from Windows to Apple) a little easier. Be honest, no matter what the question is, even if the answer is "I don't know." But what they really care about is how you interact with people, and that you are willing to learn.

It's been said a lot before, but it bears repeating: EMPATHY is absolutely key. When you roleplay, imagine what you would say to a family member in the same situation (like a grandparent or younger sibling/nephew/niece). If they fell and dropped their cellphone or computer, would you ask about the phone/computer first, or would you check to be sure they were okay first?

Basically, as long as you are polite, honest, and somewhat upbeat, you've got this in the bag. Especially since you've got some techie knowledge under your belt as well. :)

Third and Final Interview

It's over. Thank Goodness. I will now just wait to see if I'm one of the lucky ones that receives that BGC email. I will say this, the team manager that interviewed me was very thorough. We went through two different role plays and they seemed to go great. However, she was extensive in her troubleshooting questioning. I was asked about RAM (what it is and how it works), USB troubleshooting (she wanted specific steps), Printers not working, WiFi not working, setting up new monitors, devices not being recognized in iTunes, and so forth. It was very extensive. I was truly not prepared for the depth of her questioning. She did relay to me that she is a new team manager promoted from Tier 1; so maybe she was just trying to be as thorough as possible. She was extremely nice though. I just pray that she saw potential in me and does not dwell on the areas that I may have lacked in. Her interview lasted an hour and I was told during my second interview that it would be 20-30 minutes. I am not posting this to scare anyone. I just want everyone to know that there are some managers out there that are very in-depth during their questioning. Again, I appreciate everyone that has posted and helped me get this far. I am praying and crossing my fingers! Thank you all!

Bgc

My third interview is done now too! It sounds like there have been a bunch of final interviews conducted in the past couple days. I will let you guys know as soon as I get my Hire Right email. I hope you will do the same if you're in the same boat as me!
