Got a phone call from a recruiter really out of the blue. It had been years since I last applied to Apple. I'm about to graduate with double major foreign language degrees. Not sure how this job would utilize anything I have learned so far, but I love working with electronics.

I think the pay is around ~16 dollars an/hour according to the recruiter with full benefits. It's not a lot of money but I think its a great starting position.

Anyone know anything about internal advancement opportunities with Apple?

1. You'll be working with people not electronics
2. Advancement opportunities at a campus - unlimited
3. Advancement opportunities as an AHA - minimal

Once you guys get an Apple Connect login you can go here: cooljobs.apple.com and see what jobs are available if you're already employed by Apple.

Sorry man, but after the third if they don't flat out tell you "You got it, you will get an email soon, then you didn't get it." =( My interview lasted 5 minutes. Said you're in, be ready for email. Sorry.

That's not true after my third interview I was advised that I would hat from hr with in 3-5 days and I start 4/1

Thanks, I already spent a good 2 hours browsing this thread so I know what to expect. So are you saying that a student intern has more opportunities?

What made you think from Angry's comment the student intern has more opportunities...

Pretty straightforward:)

Student opportunities usually mean internships?

I currently am finishing up school who got offered a AHA position. Does that put me into the first or second category?

Thanks!

Student opportunities usually mean internships? I'm not sure I understand the difference here.

he didnt mean campus as in university ...apple calls their corporate HQ *campuses*

Has anyone received an offer call for the 4/22 start date? Its been exactly 2 and a half weeks since my third interview..background check has been completed for 2 weeks..would I have gotten the "thanks for your time" email already if I didn't get the job?

okay....im starting to agree with some of the others here...if you have read the threads here you will see that the offer call can take sometimes up to a month after your background has completed....it was four weeks for me...the only thing u can do is wait....i understand your impatience..but if you read at least the last fifteen pages you will see alot of us went through much longer waits and had success....you have the job just wait

My offer call came around two weeks after back ground check so it very well could be that they have a lot to call on

Do they take attendance throughout the session (as in do they check if you are sitting in front of the Mac)? Would I be able to record the presentation externally (via a camcorder or something) and then learn on my own on the weekend?

Good question and good advice for everyone.

Yes, they take attendance. At the beginning of class and after every break.
Also, during the class, they may ask if you understand and click the green
checkmark or the red checkmark. Or they may say click the smiley face if
you're still awake.

Don't get caught with your pants down and trying to watch TV or sneek
away to fix a sandwich.

Also...NO NO NO NO NO. Do NOT record any of the training on a camera or
a tape recorder. You are allowed to take screen prints of what is on your
desktop.....

(Ctl-Shift-3) full screen
(Ctl-Shift-4) to highlight with the mouse what you want to screenprint

And the screen prints are not allowed to leave your work computer.
Remember, they can look at your desktop at any time.
They can see all your emails received and sent.
They can see if you connected a printer to print out things.

Just pay attention, take screen shots when it's important to you and have
fun. Ask tons of questions about anything. Don't feel embarrassed cause
there are some Mac-Aniacs in your class. If you are confused...ask.

You'll be fine.

When I use the word "campus" I'm referring to an Apple Campus not a college campus. If you work at an Apple corporate location there are far more opportunities available than if you stay on as an at home adviser. There are many ways to move laterally(i.e. from queue to queue) as an AHA but you'll never be more than a phone jockey or phone jockey trainer/manager.

Just to be clear, it is possible to do this job with my pants down, correct? Because when they said full benefits and at-home, I kind of pieced the rest together without confirming...

You can do the job with no clothes on if you wish but when you're talking to a 72 year old woman that has iPad issues you'll feel kind of weird (assuming you're a male).

It was with the team leader guy, he asked some customer service questions from my time at Gamestop and I think I did well in those. Then the scenario questions came up and I would explain how I would try to fix them and I was always missing something so simple. He would be like "well, what about this? what am I trying to do? ok well, AFTER I reinstall iTunes... (because that was a suggestion I had to one of the questions). He didn't say when or if they would get back to me or anything so I don't know. I mean, if he was looking for customer service more than how I would solve a problem, then maybe. I could just be over reacting, Either way I'm drinking all the Budweisers in my fridge and going to play some Skyrim. Good luck to you other guys applying

I'm in the same boat. My third interview (yesterday) was brutal. I had two customer service questions and about fifteen troubleshooting. She told me at the beginning of the interview that she knew I had no Apple experience; yet she still asked me troubleshooting questions about iTunes and so forth. I really felt like I was set up for failure. Yet, I pray that I'm just paranoid. I was just honest with her and told her that I was stumped.

I'm up for the April 29th training class and ive been checking the HireRight website and my check completed and looking at the report i have nothing unusual and only a couple date discrepancies with my previous jobs found. Would it be safe to assume ive got this?
