I'm just keeping an eye on my email!! I thought my interview went well, the questions were pretty basic for me since I have knowledge of both PC and Mac. When is your training? April 29?

Actually I'm not entirely sure, I'm set up to start in early May but I don't have any set schedule yet. And don't worry, you never know what may happen.

For the folks who are waiting, one thing to note if you have not discovered it yet, is that your start date is not set in stone.

I was interviewed for the Oct 27th class but hired into the Nov 5th class.

This has been the case for a lot of people who have gotten hired.

As long as you have not gotten a rejection email, you're golden so far.

This process does take time , especially the waiting for your bgc to come back from hireright.

Just remember that they may be calling you for a later starting class than what you were originally registered for.

One person on this forum got a reply back 6m after applying.

One last thing to note is that there are several thousands of people applying for this job, so if you have gotten to the interview process, consider yourself lucky!

Since they hired me I thought just about anyone could get an AHA job. I say that because despite having years of tech experience I'm not exactly the most user friendly guy around and this job requires a lot of soft skills. In any case, I had about a 1 1/2 hour long facetime with one of the senior managers(6 month check in) and he insisted that its not as easy as you might think to get hired by Apple... even for AHA.

I've done customer support jobs but only for business customer's and never really had to deal with an angry customer. Seems you get a lot of angry customer's for this job since its a consumer support which makes me little nervous.

Oddly enough, very few. If there were a lot of angry callers I would have quit months ago.

Apple does provide a good service and product, so I would think its natural to have fewer angry customers. I sort of knew my 3rd interviewer was scaring me a bit. "How would you handle an angry person on a call??" How would you handle an angry person in a team?? How would you handle an angry.... I was like, really..?lol I probably looked like someone who cannot handle an angry person which is sorta true:rolleyes:

That's a standard customer service/tech support interview question.

Yeah I got asked that too. I start Monday in CPU. I just said well to be straight forward I have a knack for talking people off the ledge. You learn it quick in the music business haha

A few questions

So to introduce myself, I applied to the AHA position around early January and got a call back within a week to set up a FaceTime interview, everything was going very well until the interview. The interviewer said the start date was for me would be mid March and I would need to be present from 12pm - 9pm EST Monday - Friday. My issue was I have school this semester from 11am - 8pm EST Tuesday and Thursday so this would not work for me. He told me to keep his email and give him a email when it came closer to the end of school to see if there are any May start dates (I know there are for sure now because a friend of mine was recently hired into the AHA program for college students at UF). So I gave him an email about 3 and a half weeks a go and no reply yet. I also emailed the first person whom I had been contacted by at Apple to see if he could get me another interview or even my application resubmitted. He too has not contacted me back :(
So I have a few questions that hopefully the community can answer.
I applied once with my Apple ID but now when i go back to the posting there doesn't seem to be a way to resubmit for the position. (My solution was to just create a whole new Apple ID and apply with all the same credentials again).

1... I would love to know if there is a better way to resubmit for the position than creating another account?
2... Also if anyone knows if Apple verifies that you go to one of the colleges on the list for the student position?
I have an .edu email but do not go to one of the schools on the list. (My friend is starting I believe on May 13th which would be an amazing start date for me if i was able to get into there.)

Thanks to anyone who reads this and responds.

Yes, they will verify your university information during the hiring process for the student aha position. Don't lie, it isn't worth it.

I think they only verify with an unofficial transcript?

Hi all. This should be helpful to all of you who haven't received any updates from your recruiters, or if you are interested in pursuing a job as an Apple at home advisor and want to know what type of interview questions there will be. I was hired three months ago.

KNOW THESE THINGS:

Definition of:
WiFi
RAM
Hard Drive
Motherboard (Also "Where is it located in the computer?") (I said something along the lines of "Internal component")

Definition and example of empathy. Know the difference from empathy and sympathy.

Who is the go-to person in your friend and family group when it comes to technology? (This question is pretty obvious... don't be cocky.)

What's the most difficult problem you have had with technology and how did you deal with it?

How do you think you will manage working in an environment without being face to face with coworkers or having them directly present?

How would you deal with a non-focused team member. (As a other coworker, and as a manager)

How do you manage to stay focused throughout the school year if you have a full time job as well?

A woman calls up and has lost her phone, what do you do? (EMPATHY is big on this question)

Have you ever had to boot a computer in safe mode and why?

Why do you want to work for Apple?

Do you have any questions for me? (Good question is "What operating system will I be helping customers with?")

After you submit an application and get set up with a phone or Facetime interview, you should receive a email in your inbox that has something to do with Hireright. Hireright is the worst thing ever. It's incredibly frustrating at times to go through them but hey it has to be done. After the interview I got my email within 10-30 minutes.

I received an invitation to work with Apple approximately three weeks after I had completed the phone interview. My background check was complete four-five days after the phone interview. It was completely clean.

Good luck. Smile the whole time. Have a cheerful voice and it's ok to be nervous and not be a pro when it comes to identifying and explaining the terms, just remember, empathy over everything.

You'll do fine. :):apple:

Getting Worried

I'm getting worried! I had my interview on Wednesday and I have yet to receive any sort of email. Wondering where my bg check is!!! I probably won't get the job if I haven't got anything by now! Anyone else in April 29 training still waiting on this email????

Any help would be awesome!!!

If you haven't gotten a thanks for playing email then there's nothing to worry about. In my experience reading up on this thread I think no news is good news. It's only an issues of annoyance and anticipation.

I agree I'm reading this and getting excited!!

They're bringing in a ton of new people. So as long as you feel things went well with the interviews and the people that interviewed you smiled a lot and seemed interested in you, I wouldn't worry about a thing. How'd all that experience go for you so far?

It went really well had my first phone interview a few weeks ago just out of the blue a few weeks ago and than my Skype interview went well too I was asked basic questions and I got along with the person who interviewed me really well and she passed me on to m third interview that was Wednesday and that went well too however I was nervous and lost my train of thought on one of the questions. Overall, I think it went well. Just hoping me being nervous doesn't ruin it.
