You definitely have the right perspective on things... BTW, you want to trade jobs?

Thank you, AngryGerbil. :) I won't trade jobs; but I would definitely work alongside of you on the Microsoft project! :) I've followed your posts and I am thinking that being passed over was not such a bad thing (a blessing in disguise maybe). I hope that when you leave Apple, you have great success!

I'm still waiting on a recruiter to call me again! Wonder what will happen!

Anybody have an idea what it means when I was rejected Monday night and changed my cover letter and applied for a different area Tuesday about 1 PM CST I got a call from a recruiter saying he was passing my info on and I would receive something in 1 to 2 days! Haven't heard anything yet today. Does this mean I'm back in the game?

I find this claim dubious at best.

However it is true. She is also a kick a## worker. I am not saying it will happen to everyone. She is now in upper management as of only a week ago. And yes making 6 figures. She could not be more happy that she got the latest promotion.

That's great. I will agree that this job isn't for everyone. Personally I have days where being on the phone is ok and other days I hate it. However, at the end of the day I enjoy the apple lifestyle and working from home and being an AHA is just a step to a bigger and better career. It's just to each their own.

I agree. At some point, any job is just a job. But, you're right, that's the attitude you need to have, knowing that it can get you places if you want to. There is a lot of room to grow at Apple.

Hi everyone,
I want to confirm process flow.

Attend paper work session, fill out paper work, make appointment near apple store, bring paper work then get FedEx info.

Is this process right? When should I make apple store appointment?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hello Compgeek! Thanks for keeping us all updated on your endeavors. I was one of them that got that "dreaded" email as well. I'm curious about something. You said that you changed your cover letter and location. Did you just change your location to a different city within your state? That would be the only option for me if I chose to re-apply. I'm wondering what would happen if the location was changed; yet we had the same people interviewing us through Skype or FaceTime? Would we be tossed out for changing the location or would we be re-interviewed and given another shot? I received and accepted another job offer. However, it's always good to know pertinent information if I decided to go this route again. Thank you in advance. Keep your chin up. You will land a job soon because you are persistent and positive!

Been lurking for a while. Had my third interview today. Lasted only 15 minutes. Some hardware questions, some questions about what would you do if you've got a Mac that wouldn't start up. What was the toughest technical troubleshoot you ever did. What was your toughest customer service situation where someone was upset or angry. What did you do when you have had a negative review in the past from a supervisor. What Apple devices do you own. Then some chitchat and also she described the hours that the job is and also that you needed to devote your full time to the job. No role-playing whatsoever.

Then she said it was for the May 6 class I believe And that HR would be done sorting through everyone's applications within the next two weeks and at that point I should hear from them about whether or not they are going to make an offer.
She was very friendly smiled a lot the interview seemed to have gone well.

Hello Mumster,
I am about to do my final interview soon. I do not have any technical experience. What was your answer for "the toughest technical troubleshoot you ever did"? Did you already come from a technical background? And Also, what kind of hardware questions did they ask?

I would also be May 6th if I make it through!

Thanks for the help!

When I say I "Changed my location" I just mean I applied for the same position in a different state entirely. Since this is a work from home job, you can apply for any state I would think. The first time I got the interview, I applied for the listing out of Nebraska and it didn't seem to matter that I wasn't even in that state.

I told her troubleshooting a failed video card on my own machine was the toughest troubleshooting question I ever had because I had to pull the ram chips one at a time in order to isolate the problem and it just took a long time. I ended up replacing the video card and it worked. She didn't ask any hardware questions this time. In the previous interview they asked me what ram was and what the difference was between RAM and the hard drive. I run my own Apple tech support business. Hope that helps.

That helped quite a bit. Thanks for sharing your experience!

So I have a question.. If I get a second chance for this position what do you all think I should say when they ask me if I spoken to an Apple recruiter before Any thoughts!

The truth. You don't want the first record they have of you to be a lie. You shouldn't be lying to them at all. They have a record of you contacting another recruiter. Stick with the truth and focus on empathy.

just started

hi all!
ok I am brand new to this... anyway, I just submitted my application for this AHA position tonight. I was wondering from anyone that has gone through this, how long does it normally take to move through the process. I am very recently unemployed and need to get started on a new job (working from home as that is what I was previously) I have some tech experience and tons of customer service. I have the empathy part down pat. I do very much enjoy apple products even though I only have an ipod touch that my son has run off to his room with.

fingers crossed, and any information on what to expect would be so appreciated. I do have the set up to work from home as I have been doing it for 2 years now. Is the training paid, and if so, is it the state minimum wage that a lot of these companies like to do? how flexible are the hours once you get up and running? Is it paid w2 or 1099? are there benefits? Again, what should I expect for the process from application to hire? I am reading through the posts, there is a lot of information to absorb. Once hired on, is there any room for advancement? Is there opportunity to put in more hours than 20/40? How many interviews are there?

thank you in advance!

Thanks! No call or email yet today so lets hope I get something tomorrow.

Literally every single one of your questions is answered in this thread. If you can't find the answers then you shouldn't count on being hired for this position because being able to find information is one of the keys to success as an Apple AHA.

Looks like I got the "thanks, but no thanks" email in error . I just got contacted to schedule the third/final interview. Maybe I'm still in the running... keep you all posted!
