You DO NOT need a headset. It is provided for you by Apple. So is the phone and an amplifier for the headset.

no need to yell. I didnt say you needed to buy your own. however if they do provide one it is not necessarily going to be the most comfortable and any job I have gotten I prefer to use my own rather than the ones they buy in bulk, which tend to be plantronics basic.

For those watching the timelines, my offer e-mail came today (student position) so I can close mine out. The longer version of the early timeline is in my post on this page.

Nutshell version is that I applied on ~2/7/13, went through a much more streamlined process than the one for non-student advisors, and got to the Skype interview and background check by 2/20/13. The background check was done within a couple of days, but it took until 3/23/13 for me to get an offer call. Then the 'letter' came today via e-mail, for training starting in May after everyone is out of school for the summer.

I didn't follow up with a recruiter. I didn't try the passive-aggressive routine and send an email asking if I had missed anything. I just kept my mouth shut and let the process play out. I checked this forum every now and then, to see what people were up to, and I waited. There are dozens of people who have posted here after getting the job and the Clean BGC→Offer connection seems almost universal. If they're taking a pass on you, they'll tell you. Obviously waiting more than four weeks to hear anything was a little inconvenient for me as I try to plan my next steps, but it sounds like these recruiters really are just that busy.

So anyhow, there's one more data point for you guys to consider. Just about exactly seven weeks, from application to offer letter.

Just got the link for the application!

I scheduled my 'final' interview yesterday and today got a link <just now> to fill out an application! Doesn't that usually happen after the final interview?? Anyways I'm stoked!! :D

This waiting for the offer call is going to be the death of me. I need to keep myself distracted. I feel pretty confident that I got it. But still want an offer call or email to put my mind at ease.

My friend just told me Apple is hiring for iTunes and its chat no phones. A little jealous it was not available when I applied. I will be in CPU instead but that's ok. I wanted to share with you. It looks like it was just posted today. Can anyone chime in if the pay is the same as iOS and CPU $14.50-16.50?

This is where I currently am in the hiring process:
-I applied
-I got a questionnaire
- I got a screening call from a recruiter
-I received an appointment email to do my first Skype interview
-I finished my Skype interview (Yesterday at 11:30-Noon)
*He said I would be passed to the next level and I should receive an email to set up an appointment for the next/ 2nd Skype interview

It is a day later at 4:15pm. I have not received that email. Should I be worried??
How long did it take before you got that email?

Thanks!

What date did you initially apply? Thanks!

Got a call today

I am not a student, but I got an email 3 days ago saying that they would like to talk to me more about possibly being an At Home Advisor. Today I sent an email in response and got a call from California only about 10 minutes after sending my email. Which was really shocking!

The phone call was easy. She asked me about my past work experience, what kind of work I have done on Apple products, the difference between software and hardware, to define CPU, to define an OS and give examples of an OS.

Other than that, it was just small talk and being friendly. I feel I did pretty well on the questions and she immediately said that she wants to move me up. I have my next FaceTime interview scheduled on Monday. I hope this post helps someone! I'll come back later on Monday and post about what kind of topics were covered in the second interview.

Good luck to everyone!

Less than two weeks ago. The last interview has since been scheduled. :)

Have you ever fixed a lawn mower, something in your house (i.e. dishwasher, sink, etc.)? Expand your thoughts on this question. It doesn't have to be limited to computers. They just want to evaluate if you have the mindset for troubleshooting.

Thanks MrMacMack. That is interesting and helpful! Good information to know!
:)

Last interview

Hi, I'm new to this site and have been reading great responses on everything regarding the process.

I just had my last interview and I think I did good. I gave a lot of empathy and she seemed happy throughout the call.

She said ill know in a few weeks and she was typing up her "recommendations".

Not sure if that's a good or bad sign. I've read throughout this thread that many received the BGC same day but I guess I'll wait it out.

Any thoughts?

Mine is also for the May 6th class. Both waiting on the offer call. I will keep you updated if and when I get mine if you will do the same. Nice to see some people on here who i will hopefully be in the same class with.

Sounds like a plan retro :D

From what I've been reading it seems they contact candidates about a month before. I'm hoping we get that call by end of next week :D

Yes, my recruiter said they were running behind on many candidates. My scheduling email took several days before I got it. So I think they are running behind on a bit of everything. I am sure they must be overwhelmed.

Hello Mumster,
I am about to do my final interview soon. I do not have any technical experience. What was your answer for "the toughest technical troubleshoot you ever did"? Did you already come from a technical background? And Also, what kind of hardware questions did they ask?

I would also be May 6th if I make it through!

Thanks for the help!

did you receive the hireright email yet??

----------

I also wanted do point out I haven't been told anything about pay. Just CPU and FULL time.

I was originally told 14.50...which sucks for me because if offered I will be taking a pay cut...

wowww...I feel much better now, because most of the ppl on here recieved their hireright email shorlty after the 3rd interview..but im thinking if he gave me that much information, instead of the "you hear from us whether or not", he wants to give me the position...I can retain my nerves now..lol...

did you receive the hireright email yet??

No, My last interview is on Tuesday. It was the soonest I could schedule it. I feel a bit behind the May 6th class gang in the process. But we shall see!

Oh and about those wondering about pay: When I had interviewed (a long time ago) as Full Time it was $14.50 for where I live. Now that I am interviewing for PT it is $16.50. It also very much depends on where you live and if you are in college, etc.

No word yet from hireright, but my interviewer told me it could take 2 weeks to get a response. My third interview was on 3/27 so I should hear by 4/10 I guess. Feels like an eternity!

I was told 16.50/hr. I am in MA.

I guess we are in the slow batch together..I wouldn't worry that much as long as you feel confident about your last interview, you should be ok...i wish they would move a little faster, anxiety is getting the best of me.....
