Do they let you know if you are not hired?

I did this through my school and Apple directly.

Just finished up my facetime interview a few days ago.

Yes, they should send you the infamous "thanks for playing" rejection email or continue on with the process. Just wait it out. It took many days (a week even) between every interview and step in the process for me thus far.

So as for you, I dont remember seeing you got the job yet. But have you heard any good news? :)

Although, I appreciate Angrygerbil's candide answer, if anyone else has input to either of my questions it would be greatly appreciated.

Once you get hired you'll have links to pics posted by HR that show exactly how your office should be set up. A picture of my real office set up would be pointless because after it passed HR specs I reverted it back to the way it was.

I'm part-time iOS. Being full-time Tier 1 in iOS would be a struggle for me. It is mind-numbing. It's bearable working 3 days a week, 4 hours each and 8 hours on a weekend day. We were full-time plus overtime during Christmas for a couple of weeks. It was torture.

I plan on hanging in there and keeping my metrics in line with where they need to be to reach Tier 2 (full-time). It's all about the numbers. I have 6 months in. You don't have to be in your position for a year to advance. Several former members of my team are in Tier 2 just 4 months out of training. Purely because of their metrics.

My wage is a little more than $16/hour. As a side note, you do receive additional hourly pay (shift differential) if your shift starts after 1pm.

There's absolutely no way I could do this (iOS) full time... It is in fact mind numbing, that's one of the reasons we've lost 6 people since Jan. (28 started, 24 finished training, 16 are left). We had 4 that were offered Tier 2 after 6 months. My stats have been consistently high (high CSAT, low AHT) but I made it clear that I absolutely do not want Tier 2. I'm also at odds with my manager at times because I just don't do the Apple culture groupthink and I don't talk like a 17 year old. And while advancement is based pretty much on numbers, it can help if you're a kool-aid drinker and suck up to the manager... especially if you're looking to be a manager "backfill"(boy, that's a double entendre for sure).

Ditto. Hoping to get that finished up tomorrow or at least by Friday.

Called hireright they said they sent my report to Apple and could not verify my self employment. They said my tax returns that I provided were not sufficient proof because they were self prepared. Had I gone to HR Block they would have been acceptable. My problem is as a freelancer clients don't always provide 1099's even though it's the law. I went through my files and found a couple more 1099's and submitted those. If my status changes due to those documents Apple will be notified.
I also (at the suggestion of hire right) contacted the original recruiter at Apple and told her if she has any questions to call me.
Funny thing is I am listed on IMDB as editor of the movie I was working on at the time they can't verify.
I wonder how this will affect my chances.

Yeah, I am waiting on my bgc. I sent it off Tuesday, so I'm sure they won't get back to me untill next week. The only thing I worry about is HireRight verifying my employment with a company that closed down. I am still hopeful that it will all go smoothly though. :)

I concur. They always look for a certain "type". The bottom line is your manager has to sign off on any moves you want to make.

Hire Right

What all does HireRight ask for? I'm kinda freaking out if they go in that much depth to find out you are who you say you are. I mean I don't have anything criminal against me. But I've only got limited documents on past employment. And on that note.. a limited employment in the first place.

If you have a limited employment history, I wouldn't worry about it too much. The less you have, the easier and faster it will be for them. They are really looking for criminal stuff. Any large gaps between schools and jobs need to be accounted for because it looks shady. Usually you are fine as long as you don't have a criminal background and your jobs were legitimate tax-paying jobs. Although some employers are harder to contact than others, and HireRight may ask for additional information.

Wow, even still that's amazing. I work for the Post office, I'm the supervisor there. And even when we get hired we don't do that much... And that's the Govt.! They just do drug test off site, and a misdemeanor and felony check. you know within two days- the status. Ugh, this is taking forever.:(

LOL my TM would probably sign off on my resignation but that's about it. My metrics are actually better than some of the people that got promoted to Tier 2 but I made it clear from the get go that I don't do "Apple groupthink" and that I have no intention of doing this long term. So I don't see myself being put on the top of any list other than a blacklist. That's OK, I'd rather choke in my own vomit than talk using Applespeak buzzwords (rocks, rockin, awesome, pumped, stoked etc.)

I called Apple Online Store a few weeks ago concerning an order. All she kept saying was "Awesome". Annoying as hell. Gave her my order number, "Awesome'. Provided a call back number, "Awesome". Confirmed what I'm calling about, "Awesome". What is so awesome about the information I gave you?

I finally got my first interview!!! and interview #2 is tomorrow. i am told that it will be part time. i would like more than the minimum of 20/week, however, I can survive on it for at least the time being.

Well congratulations on getting it. I wouldn't complain on the hours. Not to sound like a dick. But its Apple... If you don't like it then don't complain they can find somebody in a quick, fast and in a hurry. I don't think I can make it on 20 either but hey.. once again.. its Apple :)
Good luck on getting a job! :D :):apple:

Hey guys, just an update. Just got my offer call, and they low-balled me hard on salary. I had to decline, I make more doing infrequent freelance work part time than I would make doing this job. I got quoted a wage during my interview and they totally pulled back on it. Beware. I know Kelley people make $9-10 bucks an hour but for being a full fledged Apple employee at $12 is not very good... I was hoping for more of the $16-18 range that everyone says they get. Either I got screwed or folks on here are lying... really disgusted

That is crazy. I got the offer call actually a little higher than the original amount. Mine ended up being 16.25 an hour ft aha

They only check back 7 years on employment history, so if you have W2's or 1099's you are fine or you have professionally prepared tax returns. In my case I do my own taxes and several of my clients forget (or just don't) to 1099 me so I am missing 1099's.

sorry, but that was not a complaint, a hope actually. And, as someone who has worked tech support from home, there are pros and cons to every company, including apple.
