Just got my acceptance letter. Super stoked now! Time to start drinking the kool-aid. Ha ha ha.

Things really move quickly from this point forward. You'll start getting more frequent communications from Apple (recruiter, team manager, etc.) any day now. Once this ball starts rolling, it doesn't slow down for a good little bit. :D

Awesome. I am very excited!

I talked to my recruiter today and he told me 5/6 people who didn't make the cut or got an offer call yet (aka me) were being moved to 6/17 if chosen.

He also could not tell me about pay. Looks like they are changing the system on when they tell you the rate, or maybe it's just my recruiter. I still don't know what I might make.

Still waiting for the offer call....

Retro, did they kept you in the may 6th class?

----------

Totally Agree!

Yes. I am still in the May 6th class. I have to set up the HR paper session and I have the day when I will receive the paperwork and the computer. Getting POTS installed and setting up small office in the attic.

Is the 5/6 class for iOS or CPU? Is the 6/17 class for the same thing?

CPU Full Time. Same thing, I guess they are about to fill the 5/6 class and those who didn't make it yet (me) will most likely be moved to 6/17 class. It would be for CPU.

Thanks for the info! If I get hired I was told I would be attending the 5/20 CPU class. Perhaps it's been cancelled otherwise it would seem strange to get bumped from 5/6 to 6/17.

Waiting...

My BGC is now complete as of yesterday. Now I am stalking my email. If it is a go, i will be in the 5/20 group.

Probably because it was not an English Comp. test.

probably because this forum isn't an english comp. test...i'm not trying to impress anyone on an unofficial forum with proper grammar....keep ur not so snide remarks to yourself peon

On the job requirements online Apple notes you need a analog phone line but I believe someone here mentioned that they use digital. I assume Apple prefers analog because it's typically more reliable. FYI you can wire either type to feed all your phone jacks.

From what I've heard you have to go through the wall through a POTS phone. Plain Old Telephone System.

POTS includes: bi-directional, or full duplex, voiceband path with limited frequency

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plain_old_telephone_service

That would be a real phone, land line... Not VoIP, means you'll need to call the phone company for service.

Plain old telephone service (POTS) is the voice-grade telephone service that remains the basic form of residential and small business service connection to the telephone network in many parts of the world.
The name is a retronym[citation needed], and is a reflection of the telephone service still available after the advent of more advanced forms of telephony such as ISDN, mobile phones and VoIP. POTS has been available almost since the introduction of the public telephone system in the late 19th century, in a form mostly unchanged to the normal user despite the introduction of Touch-Tone dialing, electronic telephone exchanges and fiber-optic communication into the public switched telephone network (PSTN).
POTS includes:
bi-directional, or full duplex, voiceband path with limited frequency range of 300 to 3400 Hz: in other words, a signal to carry the sound of the human voice both ways at once;
call-progress tones, such as dial tone and ringing signal;
subscriber dialing;
operator services, such as directory assistance, long distance calling, and conference calling assistance;
a standards-compliant analog telephone interface including BORSCHT functions
In the United States and Australia, the pair of wires (RJ25 Connector in Australia) from the central switch office to a subscriber's home is called a subscriber loop. It is typically powered by −48V direct current (DC) and backed up by a large bank of batteries (connected in series) and in some cases, an additional electric generator in the local exchange, resulting in continuation of service during most commercial power outages. The subscriber loop typically carries a "load" of about 300 ohms, and does not pose a threat of electrocution to human beings (although shorting the loop can be felt as an unpleasant sensation).

just a question..... for anyone that might know. basically, I am right now interviewing for the part time position. Obviously, I would totally prefer full time. My recruiter told me that I could work into full time eventually, however....

is part time pretty standard 20 hours or are there regular opportunities to work more?

I have seen some posts of ppl who started out the interview process as part time and wound up in full time positions. Is there anyway to know how that works?

thanks because there is nobody here to impress. and you're doing a marvelous job at complaining and whining, be a man and get over it...or quit your job...if you're so *educated* you should have plenty of other options...not everyone is as miserable as you..grow up

YO! I got the offer call, offer letter, and signed and turned in all the paperwork!!!!! Man, thatnk you again for always helping me and encouraging me!

Nothing here. Just checked hireright website still says "in process" :(

I have learned that the reason why Hire right can take a while is the court releasing your background records. So try calling Hire Right to see what is delaying the process.

----------

Well, here I go again!!! Last night I decided to create a new apple ID and reapply for the position. Now i'm just waiting on the questionnaire and a call from a recruiter. This is frustrating... I got to the final interview andd got a rejection email after that and than I reapplied under the same Apple ID as I used the first time and got a call the next day and never had heard anything so I created a new ID and reapplied so we'll see..

I'll keep you all posed

Hear anything yet from them?

Thanks!!!

Can anyone confirm exactly how long their background check from HireRight took...and also how long from there it took to hear from Apple with an offer?

Just received my equipment.... huge and heavy.
Lets see what or if there is a gift people are talking about in the box...
