So I just called HireRight. According to the man I talked to, they only check 3 of your past employers. I was worried about one company that I had worked for that is closed down. However, they aren't even going to do an employment verification with that company. Whew!!
If you call them, they can tell you which ones they are checking on.
As for what they have requested of me thus far:
my foreign address, a signed release form, and a paystub

this may not be an english comp test, but keep in mind that just like we can all see the posts, so can the apple recruiters. Assume that they are always watching your behavior, especially on an apple forum, no matter how informal it is.
I believe some people having gotten calls around this time but it seems to be 2 to 5 business days from the completed HireRight (I don't believe they make calls on weekends)
Yeah, not sure how it will pan out. The background check was completed and sent to apple around noon today, so I'm nervously staring at my phone because you never know... aha.

ok i'm confused, I see people on here starting 5/6 or 5/20....My original start day was anticipated for 5/6 ..when told I would be starting in june instead of may, the reasoning was"because the classes were full"...but my offer has been days before these recent post....hmmmm

The student position info said that training would start in May, so I would imagine that they're focusing their training resources on that area next month. Maybe that's it...

Thanks for the info! As far as I've heard the 5/20 class is for CPU. Did your offer end up being more or less than originally quoted?
It was the exact amount from my 1st interview. I hope it is for CPU, that sounds more interesting and in line with my degree in IT.
Background check completed this afternoon - clean as expected. Now it's just waiting for a call.....I hate feeling so anxious!

Considering there are non students signed up for this class I don't believe this is the case.
There's a student class starting on 5/28. This I know for a fact. What that means for the non-student training classes, I don't know.
Also, a basic Google search indicates that new Apple hires get a T shirt and a letter and whatnot. For the folks thinking you're going to get some kind of awesome technological gift, don't hold your breath.

I can confirm this. Most of the "swag" (God I hate that word) they send out is pretty chintzy and in one case I'm sure the fed-ex shipping cost more than the stupid stuffed toy and 5 pieces of candy that were sent. The only thing they've shipped so far that has any worth whatsoever is a stainless steel coffee mug.
You have to remember that there are 1000's and 1000's of AHA reps... No way they're going to be sending out Apple branded Northface or LL Beane hoodies. The granola bars they send aren't 1/2 bad tho.
