Is Student Tuition Reimbursement confirmed?!

For the student position, yes. They write you a check for the cost of each class, you just have to write a reason as to how that class helps you perform your AHA job.

Does anyone know how many people you can add to your friends and family list?

Any idea what qualifies as a reason? Like what classes are accepted?

At my information session, he was emphasizing that they are waiting to give the money to you. They put aside $5,200 per student per year, and any class can be accepted. All you have to do is just find some way that it could help you do your job, write it down and they send you a check. It's pretty sweet.

Awesome! Thanks for the info.

Last I knew any full time Apple retail employee qualified for tuition reimbursement. Is this not the case for AHAs that aren't employed through the university programs?

All AHAs qualify for $5,200 tuition reimbursement. The key is to get your Team Manager to sign off on the actual reimbursement when the time comes. The request goes to them, they sign off and forward it to human resources. It is not as simple as it sounds. The course has to benefit you directly (essentially Apple) in your present position. With this is mind, there's no way any and everything will be approved for the limited scope of a Tier 1/2 Advisor. The course has to be DIRECTLY related to your present role, not future aspirations.

Thanks for the info! Does this also apply to part time AHAs?

Apple retail employees could get 25% off both a Mac and iPad per year. Is the max discount really $200 off any iPad model? (Not
to say that's not a nice discount and actually comes out to more than 25% for certain models) If this is policy it may be the current one for retail employees.

Part-time AHAs who work 20 or more hours are Corporate employees. They get full Corporate benefits. Retail employees must work a minimum of 30 hours to receive their benefits. They are not Corporate employees.

Aren't the discounts the same for all. 25% off and then every 3 years you get either $500 off a Mac (desktop/laptop) or $250 off an iPad (on top of the 25% off). I'm waiting to see if they'll come out with a Retina MacBook Air this year before I use the big discount.

ScionTX,

As a part-time student AHA working 20 hours minimum each week, would I qualify for tuition reimbursement?

These are the requirements from Human Resources:

Corporate employees whose standard weekly hours are at least 20 a week
Retail employees whose standard weekly hours are at least 30 a week

That's all it says. Do students receive full benefits as those who are not students? If so, I don't see why they wouldn't be eligible per the requirements.

I guess I would qualify, then. I'll be working 20 during school semesters and 40 during breaks/the summer, and I'm not in retail... Thanks for the info.

Wow! Do you have to wait 3 years to get the extra discount or are you eligible right away then aren't eligible again for 3 years? Thanks!

CPU supports CPU's: iMac, Mac Pro, Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air.

iOS supports iOS devices: iPad, iPhone, iPod.

Both groups do things like help people with Apple ID or iCloud issues. But generally, if someone calls CPU about an iPad or has an issue syncing with a CPU, it goes to iOS. You'll learn the idiosyncrasies.

You may get told what you're being interviewed for, or you may not find out until your paperwork session. You don't get a choice though.

eww7633 is correct. iOS is mostly customer service and CPU is a little more tech support oriented. I mean really; there isn't much troubleshooting you can do with an iOS device, it generally works or it does not. More often than not, if I do any troubleshooting it's with windows iTunes installs.

How deep do you guys get into troubleshooting windows iTunes installs? I imagine it could get pretty ridiculous in certain situations.

About the back ground check...

I am afraid that even if I make it past the third interview on Tuesday and actually get the BGC email that I may not make that part of the hiring process. The last time I had an actual employer was 8 yrs ago (2005) and they are no longer in business(so I have heard).Even if they were in business Im sure it would be different people and they would not even know who I am. I have been self employed since then. From 2005- till now. So how do they verify that? Also, the type of job I do now does not require a 1099 because I am a trader and I do not pay taxes unless I withdraw money (which I dont do). So I dont see how they could verify it.

eww7633,
Thank you for the clarification :)

well, I just got the thanks for playing email. :( is there a time period they want you to wait before you reapply.

When was your last interview and how many did you make it through? Just wondering cause i had my second interview 2 days ago, and havent gotton an email yet. Also does anyone know if we are all in one group of applicants throughout the U.S.? Or does it go by the area you applied for?

Alright so I got the position for CPU F/T and I start 6/17.

When would I get paperwork, equipment, etc.

What should expect working in CPU group? Are managers cool? Vacation time? Etc etc.

So... I guess I AM back in!!! I got an email from a recruiter 3 days ago with the questionnaire and I just saw it today!!! Going to respond right now!!
