I finally got the offer call! Thanks to everyone who has contributed information to this thread and took the time to answer my questions! The one thing I will say from my experience is to not fret if it's been weeks since your background check cleared and you haven't gotten your offer while others are getting calls within days. It does seem that passing the background check means getting an offer just like others have said. I would suggest to stay off this thread once you get the info you need and your background has cleared otherwise you may keep questioning yourself when you hear others got an offer before you.

I would also like to add that you may not get pushed back to a later training date just because others have that got an offer before you.

Does anyone know how long after you reply to the offer email with "I accept" do you get your paperwork or what the next steps are...

I got/sent them my acceptance email Tuesday 4/23/13.

I hear the IOS dept isnt very good to be in. They say you will pull your hair out by week 3. :(

I've worked in retail for a little over 4 years now. I feel I have an over abundance of patience when it comes to people asking the same questions over and over. Personally, I prefer IOS. Gotta have a positive outlook. ^_^

That will change :D. Actually, if you lasted 4 years doing retail you should be OK. It may be called iOS but over 90% of it is pure customer service. There are some calls that involve troubleshooting but not many.

This thread has so few actual advisers that the odds of getting an iTunes Tier 2 chat rep to drop in are slim to none. I've done quite a few chats with the iTunes store chat line and 99% of them are, "Why am I getting a bill for $4.99?". Or, "My credit card doesn't work anymore".

You will go from being "queen of the repetitive" to "queen of the damned".

AG you are one funny dude. I am rolling!:D

I have more problems with getting people to go to appleid.apple.com than what you'd think is possible. I almost always end up sending them to google. Then there's the constant "session timeout" issue with Internet Exploder on Apple's web sites and very few people have Firefox or Chrome installed.

Imagine an internet exploder that's so old appleid.apple.com won't even LOAD and tells you to update it.

Yeah. Checked the version. 6.0.something. Feeling your pain ;]

Micah -

Whats the difference between this position and the care position? Is it entirely done in chat? any phone work too? pay the same? did they give you any pertinent info during your interview? interview process same? etc etc?

this is all chat, no phone. interview process different, I didnt make it. there is no 11 question email, just something to fill out on the apple website, then you get a skype interview and if you make it past you get the application and the offer. dont know what the pay is, but I will say you are required to maintain 4 conversations at once, three was too hard so I am glad I did not get it

Employment Question

I Have a question for anybody that can answer this but preferably somebody that actually works for Apple... I applied about 6 months ago, and heard something back at the beginning of the month. Anyways, I did the interviews (they all loved me, all 3 of them) They saw my resume, saw some different types of things ive done in the past that include IT. I got my background, came back fine. and a week later I got my offer call.. Which was just recently. Heres the kicker. Im 17. I don't think they know. But I had a limited Resume history and only HAVE COMPLETED High School ( I did all of my 11th and 12 grade online and got my High School Diploma (not G.E.D.) Anyways, Im just wondering when it comes to the I-9 etc, what will happen when they see that? Im so curious as to what will happen. Cause I already sent my resignation that will end on May 16th, Which is just in time for 5/20. So, Im screwed if they don't give me the job. Im close to being 18. But there was no where on Apple's Site where it said you had to be 18. So What do you guys think? Think they just wont care how far they got me and just rescind the offer? Or just don't care and let me work there? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
EDIT:I sound completely professional (it defiantly wont sound like Apple hired some underage punk) I have customers at my current job that think I am about 24.. (No joke :p )

I assume you don't have to be 18 since you got an offer call after the background check which discloses your date of birth although common sense would suggest you would have made sure before putting in your resignation at your current job. It seems you didn't ask because your afraid you may not meet the requirements but common sense would suggest you should know they will find out if you don't. Hate to sound like a jerk but your question seems retorical.

Well by all means I'm not lieing to them. And yes I'm not asking. If worst comes to worst, I would find out if it was a no go for me by the date of resignation. And I know my employer would (hopefully) just let me keep my job. Cause we keep on good terms cause I am the manager there. Anyways, yes. That's true that I didn't ask cause I'm afraid they might say something. But I will tell them if they ask on the I9 or something. Or during the conference call. I mean I know they will find out. It's just a matter on if they really want to inforce there "18 y/o rule" who knows..

In CPU, it varies between a few seconds to 5-8 mins between calls.

In iOS it varies between a few milliseconds to 5-8 seconds between calls.

I'm kidding but it's a tad busier than CPU. It really depends on what your shift is, peak times are early afternoon and early evening. After 10 PM you might have 15 minutes between calls.

chat

New to this forum but have been lurking.. seen someone post their chat exp but that was different then the process I went through.

I had applied, assessment/questions, two interviews, official application and then waiting on the HireRight. They also told me a different number for max chats.
