this is all chat, no phone. interview process different, I didnt make it. there is no 11 question email, just something to fill out on the apple website, then you get a skype interview and if you make it past you get the application and the offer. dont know what the pay is, but I will say you are required to maintain 4 conversations at once, three was too hard so I am glad I did not get it

Did they email you or call you yesterday? I still haven't heard back. I had my first interview on Tuesday and I was told like you, that I should hear something by Friday.

Tough break, pal - sorry to hear. Perhaps you might give it some time before reapplying the next. The only post I've seen detailing a successful reapply was from someone who waited a period of six months. That person got the gig, according to her post, anyway. Maybe a 90 day wait would do it, and in that time frame, of course, you will have ample time to prepare in every regard.

Meanwhile, there are other alternatives - none as good as this job in terms of pay/benefits etc, but all you need to do is a good search for telecommuting opportunities.

Hang in there! Something will break for you, I'm sure.

Can anyone please explain the shift bid process? Do you get to request entire days off and/or certain times off during the day? Any info is appreciated, thanks!

This was explained during my second interview. The interviewer stated that the shift given to us was permanent until 90 days. At that time we were allowed to participate in the shift bid in order to change shift/schedule and I assume that would include what days of week you work too.

Hope that helps some. :)

My interviewer also said 90 days buy I have heard that it actually takes 6 months on this thread. Can anyone that has done shift bids comment on my question? Thanks again!

5/6 months for part-time

Thanks for the clarification! Can you please comment on the actual process and if you request days off and/or time of day? I would to give you (SCIONTX) a special shout out along with DirtyHobo and AngryGerbil for all your great contributions to this thread!

Question:

If we are considered part time, then would we have to wait a year before health insurance kicked in? If so, that could be a deal breaker on my end.

Thanks![/QUOTE

My 3rd interviewer told me PT is eligible for all benefits as of the 1st day of work. She said HR goes over the health insurance on the 3rd day of training.

When it's time to bid on shifts you receive a list of available shifts for different days and times (could be as many as 20-30 choices. You simply rank them in the order of preference (1-20 for example). It's an online process. You don't actually indicate your preference for days or times somewhere. You bid on what's available.

@Angrygerbil

What are the call ques like? Is it always back to back or is there a lot of down time?

I'm not AG, but I work for a vendor doing iOS, and it really varies. Start at 6am central, might not get a call until 6:45. Works its way down to 2-5 minutes at noon, no time at all from 3-7, then it slowly works its way up to ten minutes towards 11pm. Day of the week matters too. Keep a book/Sudoku/homework handy. Definitely. But don't count on using them. Turn based iPad games are my lifeline to sanity, personally.

Simple directions for managing their Apple ID, like "go to appleid.apple.com" take 15 minutes some times. You think they keyed in the URL, nope. They have a list of Google search results.

Then they have malware that redirects...

I had one caller who asked me how to spell google.

I emailed my supervisor, and informed him I was going to take an extra half hour of lunch after that call, and please don't monitor my calls afterwards, because I'm going to be tipsy when I come back.

But there was no where on Apple's Site where it said you had to be 18. So What do you guys think? Think they just wont care how far they got me and just rescind the offer? Or just don't care and let me work there? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If it doesn't say that anywhere, you're probably okay. But I wouldn't bring it up. If they can't do math, that isn't your fault. Just keep your head down about your age.

I'm not AG... you're quite fortunate actually.

iPad with the NY Times crossword is the way I kill time

Not so much malware redirects as just getting them to understand appleid"dot"apple"dot"com... it's a communication issue. Many try to put in appleid@apple.com.
