Well I had my second interview last Tuesday they said i would hear within 3-5 days but no word yet. Is it pretty much a given that i am not going to get to the next interview or should I hold out hope.

Oh well, I have gotten my second rejection letter. Hey I admit it, I am not an Apple junkie and don't say "awesome" all the time.

I have one more job application with the Fruit Company and then after 3 strikes, I will consider this idea "out" for good.

Honestly, some days I wish I was never hired. If I did not have any job at all I'd be putting in a lot more effort into finding something in my normal line of work. I can't do this AHA stuff much longer in any case.

And believe me, this is a tough gig for someone that's not an Apple junkie and is over 30 years of age. I do admire Apple the corporation as it is one off the true tech rags to riches stories in the last couple of decades but its cult like followers/employees and the whole "walled garden" aspect of the Mac/iTunes ecosystem has left a really bad taste in my mouth. I will probably sell my iPad at the end of this job and never again touch an Apple product.

Dude. We get it. Just quit already if it's so unbearable for you.

3 to 5 business days. Give it some time. They are busy folks ;)

Thanks, I guess I was thinking today would be 5 business days. I have been putting in other applications but it would be nice to know. I need a job and its hard to find where I live. Only thing I have been getting is temp jobs.

Sweating

Just recently had my "FaceTime" interview. 11:15am, I tested my connetion it worked fine, as soon as the interview calls me the facetime doesnt work. So we do the interview over the phone. :-( I read previously what everyone has said about interview questions, what to do and what not to do. When asked about how I would explain RAM to a person. I used a great analogy. I was also thrown into the scenario of if a pissed off customer was trying to connect his printer to an airport express base station and it doesnt work. He asked me what SafeMode was. To be completety honest I did not know 100% of what it was.(I have never had to boot in safe mode.) I have previously worked in the Apple Retail store, so I hope I get this email.

Did anyone else have the interview question about the pissed off guy who threatened to return the printer to the store? Also was anyone asked what safemode was?
The interviewer said the first day would be June 10.

I received my offer email and will be reporting to a person with the initials RM. Has anyone worked with this person? Thanks!

I understand your eagerness - and frustration. But I think it's important that you look at everyone's time line that gets hired by Apple for AHA work... (Just go back through this discussion, and you'll see.) I personally don't know *anyone* who has started work for them in less than 4 weeks from initial contact. I'm sure there is an exception around here somewhere, but the general rule of thumb is an average of 4 to 6 weeks total for the hiring process.

Apple simply does things differently - even down to how they hire.

The process can feel maddeningly slow. Is it worth it? That's a really subjective answer. Personally, I think it is. Keep temping (if you can) until your first day of training so you'll have some income.

Good Luck! :)

Congrats!

You will meet that person, and work with them through the first few days of training, but your direct report will likely send you an email between now and your first day of training. Typically about a week to 10 days before training.

My start day will be 6/10 also if I get the job. I had my third skype interview last tuesday (april 23). My interviewer said it could take 21 days to hear anything. Its been one full week and I haven't heard anything but I notice that some of those who will be in the 6/17 class have either received their "thanks for playing" email or their BGC email.
Anyways, I was asked the safe mode question also. The question was "when should a person use safe mode?" My reply.... when there is a critical problem such as a virus" Her reply..."awesome".

Honestly, just quit. Your constant complaining makes me wonder how you even got the job in the first place. You don't seem like the right fit for the job. Move on and get over it. There are plenty of us who are in the interview process and will gladly take your place.

In all fairness AngryGerbil has also contributed a lot of useful info to this thread which I applaud him for. I'm just surprised from his age and experience that he expected something different from the AHA iOS job. I'm be willing to take the iPad of his hands when the time comes, ha!
