Hey buddy, I hope you get your stuff today. I already got confirmation I will get my paperwork this Thursday and the email for the phone session for Friday at 11am central with the number.

Yea I hope so....if i don't recieve soon i will be knocKing on doors...lol

You have passed me....I'm about to scream...lol

Perhaps they've changed their mind? LOL

I imagine I got mine faster because I'm in an earlier class. Getting it sooner doesn't get you paid sooner so it really didn't make a difference to me. I'm sure there is no way you will get pushed back to a later class.

Compgeek,

Hows everything Going, since our last chat??

I don't think anYone has been stuck as long as i have..evErything.was going fairly fast until i got the offer....

The important thing is that you got the offer and know you have the job right? :)

The only thing that's stopping me is that if I quit, I'll have no longer have a reason to visit this forum and annoy people.

I actually find your narcissism quite amusing so would miss you for that along with the helpful info you provide!

My start day will be 6/10 also if I get the job. I had my third skype interview last tuesday (april 23). My interviewer said it could take 21 days to hear anything. Its been one full week and I haven't heard anything but I notice that some of those who will be in the 6/17 class have either received their "thanks for playing" email or their BGC email.
Anyways, I was asked the safe mode question also. The question was "when should a person use safe mode?" My reply.... when there is a critical problem such as a virus" Her reply..."awesome".

aw man I had never had to use safe mode before. so i mightve gotten that question wrong. I did mention "empathy" and I did explain ram and etc. But my interviewer never said anything like awesome.

Can anyone tell me if CPU also supports Apple routers (Airport Express/Extreme & Time Capsule) or is that another department? Thanks!

Just wanted to post an update on my status thus far. I received my background check the same day as my third interview, 5 days later the background check went to completed status and I got an offer call the same day, as well as the offer e-mail the following day. This week I have my new hire paperwork session and I'm stoked! Part-time IOS 5/28. Can't wait :) Anyone have questions?

what was your interview like? Anything different from the previous posts?

I have read through this whole thread. I was wondering what kinds of questions are interviewers asking now? Are they the same as the ones throughout this thread or are some of them different? I have my first skype interview on Thursday!

Thanks!

I actually find your narcism quite amusing so would miss you for that along with the helpful info you provide!

I think the term you're looking for is "sarcasm" and while that does happen to be a hobby of mine, many of my posts would actually fall under the category of "cynicism". That being said, I do on occasion, answer questions from potential AHA employees that can only be answered by someone that's actually OTJ.

Granted, some of my posts are pretty negative but I'd rather unload on this forum than on the people around me. Besides, I don't think anyone here has someone pointing a gun at their head and saying, "Read AngryGerbil or else".

If your read this whole thread I think you'd know the questions don't change. Even if you just went a few back did you think they'd be much different?

----------

"Describe an interesting problem and how did you debug/solve it."
"What is const correctness?"
"What is the mutable keyword in C++ used for?"
"What is the difference between a list and a vector?"

Your're right, the interview questions for a level 3 software engineer aren't much different than for an AHA.

How did you answer those questions?

I answered the "How would you describe RAM to a customer." I used the ram analogy referencing RAM to having a table or a work area. The more RAM you have the more work space you have on your table. For the safe mode question I think I messed that one up. I said it was a mode you can get into your operating system without exposing your computer to harmful things.(It was better than me just saying I dont know)

In post 6793, pg272, I recommend what to study. It got me the job and I don't have a tech background. I start this month.

Good luck!

Wow, I really need to spell check my posts! You're probably right but do come off a little narcissistic when you mention how over qualified you are for the job but then again I can be a little narcissistic myself.

I am holding out hope that because that haven't gotten back with me yet is a good thing. I am still going to interviews I am invited to but in the back of my mind still hoping. I have talked to other people that have applied recently and their longest wait was after the third interview not the second.

I was asked generally the same questions you've seen asked of other members from this forum. Some from the top of my head include:

Explain the difference between RAM and HDD. Explain a difficult situation with a customer from your last job and how you handled it. Explain a time you're manager had to mentor you and how you handled it. Explain the difference between wifi and bluetooth. What is a fault in other people that you dislike? Then there were some roleplay questions such as "dropped my laptop and it's not turning on" and "can't sync my ipod touch".

My advice would be to study up, be calm, speak slowly and enunciate, show empathy, exude confidence. Good luck!

Offer Email Update

So I just got an email from my recruiter apologizing for the delay in sending out my offer email. Was told it should arrive by the end of the week. :apple::apple:

I'd just like to hear from my recruiter, preferably with an offer! :) I am so not liking the wait. Adjudication status set means hireright has sent my background to the recruiter, right?
