BGC question?

Does anyone know if there is a way to check your status of your background check on hirerights web page. I tried to sign in with what they had provided me but it asks for Apples corporate ID as well which I have no idea. I would just like to know the status of where I stand on my bgc.

Hope I didn't come off like a dick, I'm just saying no reason to stress out about anything right now. No worries about your posts as this is thread does serve as a support group of sorts. :)

You won't get an offer call until after your background check clears which can take 3 weeks. I don't think Apple has anyone in corporate in LA so it was probably a telemarketer. You can usually find out about a phone numer by googling it. Anyone from Apple would probably leave you a message.

^No no, you were fine! It was exactly what I needed, so thank you :D

Doubtful it was Apple. Like macgeek said, it is very unlikely they would call you before the BGC completes unless for some reason they would have a to clear up a discrepancy of some sort and I'm positive they would leave a message. I missed 2 calls from Apple (I have a bad habit of leaving my phone on silent) and both people left me a voice mail. This might differ from others too, but not a single one of the Apple reps I spoke to came from a 310 area code. If I remember correctly all my calls came from 408 (the first call), then 916 (my second interviewer and offer call) and a private number for my third interview.

BGC email is always first :) And can take a few days to arrive. It really depends. Mine arrived the day after my 3rd interview.

Thank you for both of your detailed replies. I know you mentioned it took you one day for the BGC email to arrive. How long does it normally take to arrive for others who were accepted? In other words, when should I start to worry if I haven't heard back/haven't received a BGC email?

If you kept the BGC email you got from HireRight all you have to do is click the hyperlink in the email, the one that says : To access the secure website, please click this link and use the case sensitive credentials. Then login with your Apple id and the password provided in the email. Hope this helps. :apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

Offer Call

Thanks for replies about attendance. I don't think I will be able to make the May class so I will probably beg to be put in the June class. I don't know how this process will work, but hopefully after investing 3 interviews, BGc and additional documents and a job offer?..they will see that I'm worth working with on the training schedule and put me in the next class. At least I was up front and honest about it. I will keep my fingers crossed. Anyone else had this issue?

So still waiting on the process. Not sure I'll ever hear anything again. In the mean-time I've applied to many IT positions which I hope I get since that is my background and degree

Of course, I enjoy the job. Lower then 13 but not quite 10.

Yeah, you CPU guys have it made :). They told me I had to wait a year to try and transfer to CPU but by that time I'll just be a soulless empty husk of what used to be a human being.

I just happen to receive the request for my background check right after my interview but this isn't always the case for everyone. If you use the "search this thread" function for "timeline" it should yield a lot of results with different people's experience. I hope you get it!

What kind of calls/emails will you be receiving?

Heck at this point just wait it out or contact an Apple recruiter obviously your stats are in line. My buddy on here hasn't been in AHA for a year and just interviewed for an engineering gig in China.

Lucky guy... worked in China myself for a while and would go back in a heartbeat. I guess if I made it this long I can stick it out a bit longer but my empathy is getting down toward empty.

Thank you, I do too! I did a search within this thread earlier searching for keywords like "BGC", "after third interview", and "how long after", but I'll search for "timeline".

I'm in the same class as you, Brandon! I was in the paperwork conference call yesterday as well. Neat.

You can also start reading posts from newest to oldest and shouldn't have to go too far back to find results. Good luck in your venture!

How long was the call? What all do they cover? Thanks!

They spend about an hour just going over all the paperwork in the offer packet you will receive. They give you very specific instructions for how everything must be completed and returned. They also give you an estimated time frame for when you will receive the equipment.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I wonder how many people on average attend the same training?
