Most big wig corporate companies treat the Friday after Thanksgiving as a company holiday Hr. doesn't like coming in to work for one day then starting their vacation. lol

For the record I see no big qualm about inquiring about holidays. just because that important to you doesn't mean you have bad work ethic and your just trying to get out of work b4 you begin. it's important to have as much as possible, a 360 degree outlook on what your getting yourself into and how that may affect your life.

Black Friday may not be as important to everyone but I don't understand why the attack on a valid question that hasn't been asked and answered 10,000 times in the thread.

Well aren't you a smarty pants you must be a big wig for apple btw all of America just about shop Black Friday so why can't someone ask who's going to read through 306 pages to find out if they have to work on Black Friday I mean seriously :apple::apple::apple:

So, I'm currently making my way through all 305 pages of this thread trying to give myself the best chance of a positive outcome with this hiring process. I originally applied through Kelly Connect and am at the point where I'm waiting for the email with the app and background check. I did the interview on Monday and she said I should receive it within 24-48 hours. Right before the 48 hours was up, I got an email that stated I'd be getting the app and background check...eventually.

Mine went basically the same way, except I did interview Tuesday. I still have not got email about app or background. I am wondering now if something is wrong :(

I'm pretty sure they were sticking up for you and saying that question hasn't already been asked. You can use the "search this thread" option before asking questions that have been already covered.

No, not yet. My recruiter said it would be a week from the day I got the call. Of course, that hasn't stopped me from checking my email every few hours on the off chance that it got sent earlier! :)

Anyone in apple retail already?

Is there anyone else besides me that is already working for apple retail?

----------

I had like three warrants the week of my background check.

I had my interview Monday BGC email came on Tuesday In the background Tues I Cleared warrants most I had to go back to court wed to clear the last.

submitted BGC late wed or early Thurs BGC came back with a pending misdemeanor charge. I saw it the day it completed and initiated a dispute, the dispute found that info to be false and I was hired.

NBC/Universal The More You Know

thank you for the info.

Quick question, did any of you send thank you emails as follow ups at each stage of the interview process? I had my first phone call today and thought it might be a very good idea.

Honestly, I'm hoping that Kelly drags their feet like crazy because I'd like to finish interviewing with Apple first and know for sure if I'm making it to the BGC. First call went well I think so we'll see how the next interview goes.

Be nice, an no not everybody shops Black Friday but most large companies take two days at thanksgiving.

Chill some, do your heart a favor.

Most holidays will be worked like Christmas, just a thought.

Good luck
Jed

I read that it was good interview etiquette but i didn't put it into practice not to discourage you.

Outside of being genuinely thankful the purpose of that email is to keep you fresh the interviewers mind. which isn't generally necessary outside of the final face time or Skype bc your advised that your moving on.

I just got my bg check back and now waiting to see if I will get a offer call. I applied for the iTunes chat position and the training class is June 10th. There was only one complete discrepancy on my bg check and that is because West At Home Agent doesn't go back past 2010, however I was able to provide my schedule W form from my 2008 taxes to the bg check company but I guess it wasn't good enough. Fingers crossed for a call.

I have a second interview scheduled this week, $16.25 an hour here on the east coast and the recruiter stated phenonmenol benefits. I am trying to figure those out. I know they are day 1 benefits which is cool but how much can I expect to pay for Medical, dental coverage? The position is part time which stinks but hey I get to stay at home. I have worked at home for another company the past 3 years who was slave driver so I expect to whipped, but if anyone can help with the benefits that would be great. Also what are the chances of full time opening up and just how many hours are considered part time?

how do you know what section of the at home advisor you will be a part of? like iOS, mac, iTunes?

It's just where they place you, I believe. And they tell you during the interview process. I was told I was going to be iOS in interview 2, 3, and the offer call.

I've only done the first call but she did tell me that I would be full time, so that was excellent news. I know I've got a long way to go, I just hope I can survive on a bare minimum of sleep until I get an answer.

I should really be off studying product manuals right now though instead of hanging out here.

^It's...hot? Lol I can't think of any other issues. Good food, nice people, and affordable homes in Texas...I wouldn't mind be a Texan, but the weather is less than ideal for me (I like warm moist air and cloudy skies)

Had my paperwork call and then went to the Apple store to get my i9 Paperwork verified.

The only minor hiccup was I hung up on accident during the paperwork call when I was checking to make sure if I was on mute. But it wasn't a big deal, I just called the number again and slipped right back in, I don't even think they noticed I was gone lol. I freaked out after it first happened though, it was right in the beginning of the call :p

For anyone going to get their i9 verified I do recommend getting it done at the Apple store. They were super nice, they took me back into the office and took care of everything, scanned my i9 and emailed it out, let me call HR from their personal phone, and even provided me with a fedex envelope, saving me a trip to go pick one up. And they welcomed me to the team and talked about how "awesome" (they really do like that word at Apple! lol) it is to work for Apple. They were really busy but they didn't mind taking the time to squeeze in my last minute appointment and didn't try to rush me out or anything :)

Now time to schedule an appointment to get my phone line installed. I'm relieved that it can be digital phone service because the POTS providers in my areas aren't very accommodating for my tight schedule.

Just got my offer letter e-mail. Guess all that's left is the paperwork session.

It's cool to know that training is full-time tbh.

Thanks to everyone in this thread who posted helpful information and encouragement.

Can anyone let me know how much of training is self paced vs instructor led? Are there set times everyday that you do each? I was also wondering if anyone can tell me if you get extra pay if you opt out of medical insurance. Thanks!

Cool and good luck.

Pretty sure the distance limit has been raised or removed.

You going with Kelly or direct?

Regards,
John

I'm going through Kelly I applied to apple but I never heard anything but I accidentally put I type less then 35mph so I think that's why they didn't email me the questions
