Also from Alabama the lower part. But I am in the June 17th CPU class. Best of Luck sounds like things are going along for you.

Ohio, reporting in. Predicted to be in June 17th CPU class. Waiting on the darn BGC, they're waiting on court records.

Can anyone comment on what training is like? How many people are in the same group? Do you use your webcam to interact etc? Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Our training group was all one team, we are all under the same manager. Our team size was 20, now 18(we lost 2 to testing in training) Yes, you use the webcams and audio in training for various things; reading aloud, introducing yourself, and some of the other things you might expect to be doing in a training class. They are not always on, but only one when you turn it on.

Lol 2 people got killed because of training? I contracted in Apple Sales about a year ago and did 6 weeks of training and the tests were easy as hell, not to mention open book. If you fail training, you probably should not be in support:p

Thanks for sharing your experience! Once you get through the self paced training of the day can you do something else until you meet with the class again? Thanks again!

I'm in Bristol. Can't wait to get started either.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a powerline adapter?

I bought two sets for my house last week. They came in yesterday. I hooked one set up for my kids room. I did not want to run another cable to that end of the house. It works GREAT. I am shocked how well it worked.....

So my background check shows that it was completed on May 10 and everything was clean. Anxiously waiting to hear if I'll be joining the June 10th class. Just out of curiosity...those of you who are in the June 10th class or may be in the class... where are you guys from??--Alabama here.

Kentucky. (I promise I'm not a hick.)

Are powerline adapters approved by Apple? Has anyone checked into this because it would be great to not have to re-network my whole house since I moved my office location.

Are these actually approved by Apple? I would imagine no because they aren't always reliable but I suppose you don't have to volunteer any info if this is the case.

I have cat 6 to my computers but did not want to run more cable. I have not noticed any issues with the powerline adaptor. Have you read something I should see or is this from experience?

From my experience if they work initially then they typically continue to work for most part but sometimes need to be reset. I'm assuming Apple doesn't officially approve them but could be wrong. I was thinking about doing the same thing but ran a new cable drop instead.

I'm guessing I might not need a powerline adapter since I'm plugged straight into my Cisco wireless router. I had to go all out and buy an expensive one recently for college.

It's a Wireless-N, Simultaneous Dual-band 2.4 + 5 GHz with speed up to 300+450 Mbps.

If you can hard wire the company iMac to your router then it would be pointless to add a powerline adapter into the mix.

Powerline adapters are approved through apple. I asked several people during my interview process. Plus they can tell what kind of connection you have you are in training. I am in class and nothing has been said about my connection because it is just as stable. They just don't want wifi.

Good to know although there is no way for them to know if you're using one. They can be hit and miss based on your home eletrical wiring but if they work well in the beginning then they typically continue to work that way. Having said that nothing is as stable as a true hard wired connection!

I meant they could tell if you were on wifi or not. There is no way to tell if you are using a powerline adapter. I suggest buying one and trying it out before the class see how we'll it does. If it doesn't work or you don't like it most places will let you return it.

Gotcha, good suggestion.

Has anyone actually begun working? Anyone in the past that can maybe explain a typical day as an AHA? How that process works? What to expect etc. Just curious

Typical day:

1. Put on headset
2. Answer calls about iOS or Mac for 4 or 8 hours
3. Take off headset

Obviously there's a lot more to it than that but everyone has their own unique perspective regarding a "typical day". The only way to truly understand any work environment is to actually work in it.
