I'm awaiting my 2nd call this wk but I have a ton of Mac OS X troubleshooting experience if anyone has questions on the tech side and positioning which is huge at apple

I don't know I heard on another Forum that they didn't accept a few ppl that had a lot of exp in products but more on customer service. Not that I know what they want lol just heard that they want to be able to train their way. Just what I heard on some other sites

Question for anyone currently in training and working as an AHA

Anyone currently in training on here? Was wondering if the class starts in the AM or PM? Also anyone currently working, are you required to keep the camera on you at all times while working?

As far as I know, all training classes run 9 - 6 CST. After training, the only time you'll ever use the web cam is with team meetings or one on ones with your team manager.

I have 20+ years Windows/Unix software/hardware experience and practically 0 customer service experience and they still hired me.

I got a 17 inch white iMac, though in most cases you'll get a 22 inch aluminum iMac if your hired from this point on (the advisors with the older imacs will get upgraded ones at the end of April). I still work there but i'm looking for another job at the moment. Its a great job with lots of overtime potential and schedule flexibility but i'm looking for something more IT-oriented and less to do with customer service. call center work can be stressful. The pay is $9.15 /hr which is ok for a part-time student living with parents like myself but even i'm looking for something that pays more.

My one advice during the phone interview is constantly mention how your there to service the customer first and foremost. Apple is huge on customer service. Also mention stuff like first-call resolution, low call handling time, upselling potential (you aren't 'required' to sell Applecare Protection Plans, But they do expect you to mention it on every eligible call) and technology.

I just got a job offer through this position for the second time. The first time I denied the position because I cans get dsl or broadband cable in my area that reaches the 10gb download. However I can get satellite with 12gb. Which I know they said is unacceptable.. But how will they know its satellite?

Hi Everybody.. :)

I've been reading this forum for a while and decided to finally sign up. So, I had my first interview with Apple last Monday, then a 2nd interview on Wednesday. Had a 3rd one today. After reading the posts here, I'm a little discouraged now, when I was so positive before. The 3rd interview lasted about 15 minutes, there was no role playing, just a couple of questions about what is RAM, a couple describe a time where... questions and then she said they have been interviewing a lot of people and will turn everything over to HR on Friday and then I should know something in 2 weeks for the June 17th class. I'm currently working through Kelly..(Started training yesterday) but would really love to work directly for Apple. But, should I be concerned that now I have to wait, or does it just depend on the interviewer?

Good luck to everyone else playing the waiting game!

Honestly, give it till after Friday, follow up with the recruiter and have a drink. Wait it out. They'll let you know either way, but I really wouldn't start pacing till after Friday.

:) That's all I can do I guess. It's just a little disheartening when it seems almost everyone that's gotten hired got a paperwork email the same day they interviewed. It just seems like the perfect opportunity for me right now... but I guess now I know why people freak out lol

Yeah it's in the requirements:
- Must have a high-speed internet connection consisting of either a broad-band cable or ISDN service, dialup service is not acceptable
- The download speed has to be 10 mbps and the upload speed has to be 1+
- Ability to connect the computer via a wired Ethernet (RJ-45) connection is required a wireless connection is not acceptable
- Either a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone service (Xfinity, U-Verse, WOW, etc.) or a traditional voice grade phone service using a Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN) or commonly referred to as a “Plain Old Telephone Service” POTS line phone service.
- Soft phone VOIP services like Skype, Google Voice, or MagicJack are unacceptable services.
- Call-Waiting and Voicemail features must be disabled and proof of service is required
- Use of the required telephone line is a condition of employment

I can only get DSL from my local cable provider for speeds up to 5mb download and the only way I can get the 10mb download would be to get satellite internet which it also states we can not have. I was just wondering if anyone else has gotten by on the Internet requirements before?

Hi Courtney,
The same thing happened with me. I had my 3rd interview yesterday, and she asked me the same questions you mentioned. She asked about 3 customer service questions and 3 technical questions. The interview lasted for about 15 min, while i was told in my 2nd interview that it will be from 30 to 45 min. I felt that my 2nd interview was harder than the 3rd one. She also told me the same thing she told u that they've been interviewing a lot of people and that she'll pass my info over to HR. She also said that they'll be calling in 1 week, she didn't mention anything about the BGC email. I haven't heard anything from anyone yet...I'm so nervous!!!

That seems to be their thing right now. I pretty much got the same spiel. So I'm just waiting patiently. It's really out of our hands now.

Is the June 10th training only for iOS? I'm waiting for my background check to complete then I'm scheduled for the June 10th training, hopefully I hear something soon it's been in the processing status for a week.

Apple requires a 2Mb download speed and Kelly(if I remember) requires 7Mb.

My net speed tops out at 6 Mbps and it's more than sufficient.

Yeah it's in the requirements...

The question from TeddyG1989 was a humorous reference to your use of gb as the unit of measure. 10-12 gigabits per second would be incredibly fast, like 1,000 times as fast as what you can actually get.

As a side note, consider me skeptical that any satellite provider can actually provide consistent downstream speeds at 12Mbps. I know that CNET has reviewed the Exede service positively and such, but in my experience anything coming through the air is subject to some pretty wide fluctuations.

I used to have Sprint Mobile Broadband when I was out on the road. Near a major city, I could go to speedtest.net and get 10Mbps, 120Kbps, 400Kbps, and then 8Mbps on consecutive tests. Obviously one would expect a little more consistency from a satellite than from a cell tower, but the atmospheric considerations and potentially related issues are the reasons that companies like Apple don't allow this kind of connection.

Yes, June 10th is iOS training, and June 17th is CPU training. I'm scheduled to be in the June 10th iOS training class too, and my BGC was completed yesterday. I'm now waiting for the Apple offer call.

However, I've seen several posts on here from people who were originally in the June 10th iOS class moved to the June 17th CPU class, so I was wondering about that as well.

So when I'm going through training and they perform the speed test 2Mb download will speed will still allow me to work? I just don't wanna go through the trouble of hooking up Internet and not be able to work.
