Training

Have you actually started training yet? I think you have your info utterly wrong. I have two separate orientations and then four weeks of training with Kelly so I don't know why yours would be so different.

I hope my information is wrong. Our Training Orientation was one day. The following week we start New Advisor Training which is five days. This is the information given. It may change and I hope it does but either way, I will do my best.

I definitely have not been given four weeks of training. Training may be individualized, since I have quite a bit of virtual call center experience. I need to look at it as a vote of confidence instead of worrying.:p

It's really going to vary a lot depending on what plan you choose and what not. Your best bet is to log onto the HR Web and find out for yourself.

I doubt you'll find any T2 folks in this thread... there are very few actual advisors that post here and someone that's been in AHA long enough to make it to T2 would have very little use for this thread to begin with. I still check this thread once in a while but it's becoming pretty irrelevant given how long ago I actually got hired.

True true. This thread has turned into repetitive nonsense.

I'm enjoying this weekend and not worrying about the Email until about Thursday. Memorial Day weekend, so FedEx is shut down for the weekend, so no rush on that paperwork, which is a part of the Offer email (Basically, "written" acceptance of your employment, as well as scheduling the paperwork session). Recruiter told me that my information was sent in and it takes a week to process before anything else. In any case, PM me, we'll talk some things over classmate, or if you have any questions :D :apple:

You'll either receive a BGC email either before or after your third interview (make it count!), however the third interview, in my case at least, was Scheduled for me. Doesn't hurt to contact your recruiter though (Follow Up Email)

How long does it take to get offer call after bgc is complete

Took me a Week. YMMV.

how can you find if your BGC is complete\? and how many days it might take .

Y'know the email that says "Apple Inc. Background Verification for YOUR NAME"? Log in with that same link. It will show you progress (In Progress, Information Needed, Completed). You can also use the Live Chat feature for more up to date information.

It's usually, from what I gather, just a matter of hours to one or two days for the 3rd interview set up information. After my second interview, I only waited about 4 hours before I was sent the link to set up a time for my 3rd interview and complete the official application.

Also, yeah you can find a lot of information in this thread but as it seems to vary, it can vary in helpfulness. Ask whatever you need. Pay no attention to the discussion board police. They're the worst.

Don't give up! If you haven't heard anything, that's better than getting a rejection e-mail! If you're not selected, they will tell you. This is a long hiring process so be patient. Or contact your recruiter and ask. I believe, if I'm remembering correctly, my second interviewer said it could take up to a week. It just didn't for me. But that doesn't mean yours won't. Each recruiter and manager is different, I've noticed. Some handle their crap immediately and others do it in batches.

And, as always, keep an eye on the SPAM and junk folders in your e-mail. My second interview e-mail was sent to my SPAM folder and I didn't notice it for a full day.

Good luck!

..bombed it

Hey everyone! Been lurking here since I first applied for the job about 2-3 weeks ago. Had my 2nd interview on the 24th, and bombed it horribly on the RP part at the end. "Caller" was irate and running late after a hard time installing a wi-fi printer, and I just started asking him some questions and when he asked if it would take long I replied that it could since there were multiple things it could be, so he said he didnt have time right now so he'd just deal with it later and "hung up"....

I know what is was I should of done, apologies for his troubles, and offer to set something up to help him when he wasn't running late. How bad do you think that mistake is going to ruin my chances at a 3rd interview?

I might have stated that I will do my best to get the wifi printer working as quick as possible and also let the customer know that If you have to leave for an appointment I can schedule a call back so we can work on the problem together. Something like that lol

Yeah, for anyone who is new to this process, keep in mind that pretty much the only correct way to handle this particular RP scenario is apologize for the problem and be empathetic/understanding with the customer but inform them that because this might take a few moments to troubleshoot and you want to help them in the best possible way, it would be best if they call back when they have free time. It's also always a good idea to mention apple.com and the help section there. (I say the "only" way because we don't yet know what Apple's policy for call-backs, etc. are in this position.)

I don't know how that would affect your chances. I guess that depends on the manager you were speaking to.

Don't give up hope! Keep optimistic!

And wait a week before contacting your recruiter.

Do not apologize for something that isn't your fault. Empathize for sure, but don't apologize.

Um ok really DO not apologize... I was always told to apologize, showing a customer you are taking the blame whether the company is at fault or maybe another rep. you are apologizing as a company not as a personal being

I'm not big at apologizing either. Most mistakes are end user and unless they give me a specific example of how the software or hardware did something that was not end user, I avoid an apology. The only other time is when they tell me a previous rep did something to them in a negative way like hanged up on them or cursed them out. I might apologize that the rep did that and give them assurance I would take ownership and take care of their problem. Most situations people will be like.. I can't figure out how to buy this App and it's frustrating me. I am not going to say I'm sorry. I am going to say "I totally want to help, let me show you how to do that" Sorry means you are apologizing for something the company did wrong when it was the customer not taking the time to troubleshoot something that can be found by doing a little digging.

This is exactly how most call centers want you to handle the situation. Until I begin training and find out otherwise, I have no reason to suspect Apple wants me to be that jackass who doesn't empathize by apologizing that a customer is having a hard time. It's called taking ownership of the situation. You do this by first apologizing that they're having difficulty and promising to help them as quickly as possible. This is empathy.

There's also a subtle difference between "I apologize" and "I'm sorry" when you think about it. One assumes blame while the other is an expression of regret. When you say you apologize for a situation, it's the same as saying "It sucks you're having this problem" versus if you say you're sorry which is the same as saying "this is my fault". The US government, for example, requires the call centers that hold its contracts to have their employees say "I apologize" instead of "I'm sorry" because the call center employee isn't actually at fault for any problems that have occurred.

I agree.

I log on from time to time, but yeah, once you're hired,
you have no use for this thread anymore.

Word to the wise is that we do not support wifi printers or any printers at all.

We can help the add or remove it from system preferences however, if the driver is not found, you must refer them to the printer manufacturer.
