This is what I posted July 30th:

Hello All!

I am another "lurker" who has profited from your generous donation of information about how to apply for this position. I am here to reciprocate.

All of the interviewers were really nice and helpful.

The first interviewer loved my customer service skills and so she passed me to the next interview even though I had a brain fart about "what is OS?" She told me to brush up on my knowledge before the next interview. She said if I passed all of my interviews, I would be in the September class.

The second interviewer liked my experience in tech troubleshooting for other companies. He asked if I had any Apple products. I don't and it didn't seem to matter. He gave me some tips on what to do on my next interview. He said to study up on all of the different Apple products and how to troubleshoot them because I would be asked those questions.

The third interview had a lot more tech questions like, "How would I troubleshoot a Mac that would not turn on?" "How would I help my daughter set up a new iPod with a USB?" He was really conversational and would let me know if I gave a good answer or not. He was really positive about my answers. He said I should hear back from my recruiter in about 2 weeks.

July 9th: applied (no cover letter)

July 19th: received email with 12 questions

July 20th: 1st interview

July 23rd: 2nd interview

July 30th: 3rd interview

July 30th: 8 hours later received HireRight email

I hope this helps anyone else. Hopefully this means I got the job! I will update about whether or not I got my offer.

To everyone that received calls today when did you start the background check?

Is the link to complete an online application provided prior to your final interview? I ask because I received a link to schedule 3rd interview, but no link to application. Wondering if it's still early. Interview is Monday (20th).

I'm interested to know too, those of you who got your job offer calls, how long did you have to wait after you submitted your background check stuff? I'm going to be at a convention all week so I hope I don't miss a call. Congratulations to everyone who got their calls! Now hopefully I'll get mine so I can stop worrying.

I just got the call. :D
I start September 10th.

Congrats!

:D <...or senorita?...> hahaha. Thanks for the heads up! Every penny helps in today's economical state.

Lol sorry about that. I considered that. I'm sure everyone assumes I'm male too. Lol
Buy yes every penny is much needed. But 25 more pennies is even better. Lol

----------

Congratulations!! Party Balloons for you too! :D

----------

My recruiter sounded tired when he called me. I joked with him when he stumbled over my name and asked him if he had forgotten me already and he said that he just wanted to make sure he had the correct name on the list he was calling.

I think they are calling everyone who has gotten thru the HireRight process today :)

Lol oh wow. Guess they actually are busy working. Lol they did apologize to me for having taken so long to do so. And I'm assuming they just do callbacks in one lump sum.

Let me start out by saying this forum has been helpful with the timelines, interview questions and other steps of the hiring process. After waiting about 2 weeks from submission of my HireRight information I received my offer call yesterday! It was from the person who gave me my first interview, and yes the pay was more than I was originally told! Good luck to all!

I just submitted my Hireright info on Monday and they have not called me needing more info so I'm assuming they were able to verify everything. Seeing that people are getting call backs for the 9/10 class is making me get antsy! I have not received the thanks but no thanks email. I guess I'm just being impatient! But I'm so excited about this possible opportunity. Congrats to all who have received their offer!

Thank you.
Patience is key. I know how nerve racking these next couple of days can be, I was getting pretty nervous being on my 16th day of waiting. I just stayed occupied and had to keep thinking positive. Good luck, and keep us all posted. :)

Glad to see you made it on board the AHA train. I get the impression that Apple listed $14 per hour but everyone that actually gets hired starts higher than that. It makes new hires all that more enthused about working.

Curious... your user name a salute to Hitchhiker's Guide?

I'm wondering how long it takes to get the actual offer email. She said once we hung up that it would come through and to respond with an "I accept" which would trigger everything else. And then i would get the physical offer packet shipped out. However I didn't get anything else after that. Probably be another week. Lol j/k but I dunno.

I was told that I'd be getting a pdf file via e-mail on Monday.

I applied for the corporate position a few days ago, and got an email with a dozen questions within 2 days. Replied immediately, didn't hear anything for a day so quickly sent email follow up and got a call back within an hour. He asked my tech background, and my customer service background, and how I'd rate my skills on each on a 1-10 scale. At the end of the call, we scheduled an interview with someone named Brian, I have that Monday. He told me Brian is "a stickler and he expects his candidates to know their sh**". I have to admit, I'm nervous. I've done both tech and customer service nearly exclusively since 1994, and mostly on Macs, and I'm still nervous. I want and need this job so badly.

I was told the pay would be $14/hour, part time, with full corporate benefits including employee discount, and training would start 9/24. Can anyone currently in process answer a few questions for me?

Did anyone interview with Brian?
What sorts of things do they ask?
I saw someone mention on early pages of this thread there was a 100 mile radius of where you apply for? What's that all about? Is it true? It's WAH, why is that important, if it's true.
How soon after this interview should I expect to know whether I move forward?

Want and need this. Working for Apple is one of my dreams...working with animals is the other. I don't want to frell this up. Words of advice or wisdom?

-Pip

If you have applied for an "at home adviser" position, most of your questions are answered throughout this thread. If you applied for an in-store tech support position you're in the wrong thread. The 100 mile radius no longer seems to be the rule even though it's still listed in the job description but most of the AHA applicants seem to be close to one of the 10 or so metropolitan areas. As far as your interview, if it's an in-store position... yeah, you better know your stuff. If it's an AHA position... I don't know a thing about Apple stuff but I still got hired. BUT I've worked in IT for 25 years and have a pretty extensive troubleshooting/tech support background; all Windows and Unix but that didn't seem to matter.

I interviewed with Brian and he is cool. Very laid back and humorous. I posted earlier about the questions that they ask. I dunno about the distance thing because nothing was said about it to me. I got my hireRight email less than an hour later but it varies. But his main goal is to get a feel for your personality. So just know how to troubleshoot common basic issues and be personable.
