The phone line doesn't need to be a business line. But they told the phone company it was for business, so now the phone company says it has to be a business line. Thus they get more $'s. Word of advise to people looking to get a land line installed, DO NOT tell the phone company it is for business, you just want a bare bones phone line installed at your home period!

Yes i made a mistake by telling them. On their website under the 'business' services it says "run a smart business".

So I'm positive I don't need a business line. That's only for actual business's. They're just trying to get more money out of me.

What to do what to do..

Absolutely do not tell your ISP or phone provider you want "business" anything. It costs 3X as much for basically the same thing a consumer gets. You need a plain old POTS line, no call waiting, no caller id... no added services, nada. That and a bare bones 2 Mbps + internet service and you're good to go.

Yes, but i wonder if theyll say anything when i tell them that since ive already talked to them about what i want to use it for :/

Does anyone know if the AT&T wireless home phone would be acceptable? Its $20 a month and i wouldnt have to install anything. I'm not sure if they let you disable all the call features on it though..

Just talk to a different rep... they may not have anything in their system yet that indicates you wanted a business line. I don't know much about the AT&T wireless phone but I can tell you that you'll need an RJ-45 jack for the phone/headset and Apple requires that everything is hardwired, no using wifi or cordless phones.

The router itself is wireless (except it needs to be plugged into a power outlet of course). I believe there is a phone jack on it. Its doesnt need internet whatsoever. Ill have to go into my local at&t store and ask about it.

I'm waiting to hear back though because i did send a message to Appleflex asking if it would be acceptable.

You must be referring to the modem, not a router. Most broadband providers install modems that typically have built in wireless as well as 1 or 2 phone jacks. That setup is fine, you just can't use VOIP(like Skype or Magic Jack).

If it is in fact a wireless router then it won't have any phone jacks on it. If I'm not mistaken, I think AT&T's Uverse service comes with just a modem (with wireless) but most other setups have both a modem and router.

I have a Comcast internet modem that is set up for digital voice. Do I just want the basic digital voice that plugs into my modem or do I actually need a hardwire phone line run in the house?

Ill just have to go to at&t and see if they can shut all features off. I dont see why they couldn't.

But thank you for the info, and thank you everyone else who responded to me :)

Offer email

I got a stupid question, in the offer email, it says to reply to the email saying "I accept". Im assuming that means just hit reply and write I accept in the message column. I noticed that there is an attachment in there as well and it said it needs to be turned in to them signed. Not sure how to do that if there is no fax number on it, do anyone know what I suppose to do with that?

Yes The job requirements for a phone LANDLINE provided from either the actual phone company (such as Att, Verizon, local company) or a Digital Phone provided by your cable company. You cannot use any VOIP providers such as Vonage, Magic Jack, or Cell Phones.

They said everything that you use in your job must be hardwire. As for internet, You you will need an Ethernet cord from your router directly to your mac. Your iMac cannot be connected to Wifi for internet.

If your modem and ro router is located far from your router I strongly suggest buying a cheap 150ft ethernet cord:

If you have adobe reader you can use EchoSign that allows you to sign it digitally and send 5 free faxes/emails containing the signed document a month. I would recommend you do that. I have done it on I9 tax forms in the past and EchoSign is widely used and accepted.

This is just a soft copy of your offer, Just reply with "I accept". then a few hours/days later your will receive the email to setup your paper work session and apple will overnight you your offer packet. Your offer packet contains the offer and allot of paperwork that you will go over in your phone paper work session. You will sign the offer in your offer packet and return it with all your paper work via a pre paid Fedex envelope after you complete all steps outlined in it.

I also have another non phone related question.
I got the offer call. I accepted. She told me i dont need to sign any of the forms she's sending me, and that i just have to read them.

But on two of the forms it has a place to sign. It also says to sign the one in Step #2 and email it. They look exactly like the papers i signed when i went into the kelly branch.

Should i just sign it anyway and send it?

You need to sign the offer PDF. There is a box in top right corner that says click to sign. You have an option to place an image of your signature (i took a picture of my signature with my iphone and cropped) or you can sign your signature with mouse. You need to add text to print your name and add requested dates. Save the signed PDF, it should name itself "your Name-signed" and attach to your I accept reply email. You need to sign the offer PDF and email back, you just don't need to FedEx it.

There is no need todo this at all, you send a hard copy of your offer letter back with all your paperwork they they fedex to you. All you need todo is say "I accept" and reply to the email.

This is the same offer letter in your paperwork that is fedex to you.

If you are hired though Kelly services this process may be different.

Sorry if i sound stupid but i have no idea lol.

Im pretty sure you will not be able to use this, as they told everyone you cant even use Satellite Internet because of security reasons and speed and reliability issues.

They said they will only allow a Landline (though old fashion copper wire) and Digital phone from a cable provider (as it comes to your house via a hardline). They were really specific about this, so I would just stick to the requirements as you need something reliable that will work at all times. The ATT wireless home phone service is somewhat new to the market and relies heavily on communicating with cell towers. Att basic phone line is about the same price. Also the att wireless home phone service require a contract if you want the box for free, otherwise its $100.

There is no reason to really go outside of the requirements as Apple will pay upto $50 a month for your internet and phone services. My internet and phone comes out to exactly $50 a month, and I already have internet so....

Just tell the cable company you need it for a fax machine and you need to make sure there is no features on it like call forwarding, call waiting, caller id or voicemail. Dont say anything about work because they will try to sell you overpriced business class crap.

Also is ATT or Verizon the Tel Co in your area? If it ATT goto:

https://www.att.com/shop/home-phone/landline.html#fbid=OTclYqvj3N7

in the bottom right corner is has basic phone line for $23 a month.

Just a few answers...

A lot of incorrect or confusing info, so here are some answers...

1. Phone CANNNOT be wireless ATT, Verizon, etc. That is just a cell station. Phone must be hardwired into house, from the street, either from the phone company, (called POTS, or Plain Old Telephone Service), or a digital line from the cable/phone company. Cannot use VOIP, (Vonage, Magic Jack, computer, etc.), or like I said, cellular. Also, just a basic line...NO voicemail, call waiting, caller id, long distance, etc.

2. Internet CANNNOT be wireless ATT, Verizon, etc. That is just a cell station. Internet must be cable or DSL. NO cell, satellite, dial up, etc.

3. Both computer and phone must be connected via cable/wire to modem/walljack.

4. Just reply I accept....you do not have to email, fax, snail mail from your offer email. Paperwork that must be turned in will be fedexed to you.

I will have to go with my cable company. When i click on 'shop now', i have to type in my address. It doesn't even have my state on the list to click. :(

I guess they don't do that kind of thing in my area.

So ill just have to go through my cable company.

Ill figure it out. Hopefully they can provide me with some kind of proof though.

----------

Alright guys, do you know if you can use magic jack as your line? Also, does this position require you to work holidays like today? or Christmas or Easter?

Definitely cannot use magic jack. And yes. The documents you get will go over that.
