Local POTS line

ATT may not be in your local area...they aren't in mine. BUT everywhere in the country DOES have POTS service...they are just handled by different (usually small regional) companies. For instance, my local phone company is called TDS. Just do a google search for telephone service in your town.

Just tell the cable company you need it for a fax machine and you need to make sure there is no features on it like call forwarding, call waiting, caller id or voicemail. Dont say anything about work because they will try to sell you overpriced business class crap.

Also is ATT or Verizon the Tel Co in your area? If it ATT goto:

https://www.att.com/shop/home-phone/landline.html#fbid=OTclYqvj3N7

in the bottom right corner is has basic phone line for $23 a month.

I just told them I needed a dedicated fax line w/o voice-mail, caller id etc. Runs me about $24 per month. I had to repeatedly tell them that it was not for a home business because they were really pushing their overpriced business package.

I had my mom call the cable company and tell them it was for her daughter cause she wants her own phone line. Much easier and i didnt have to hear them say "you need a business line". They said they will disable all call features once its installed.

Still $35 a month. But that's still better than $55.

$35 per month is kind of high for a phone line but what you gonna do? I don't know how much your internet cost is on top of the phone line but you'll get up to $50 per month (approx) from Apple to cover utilities.

I'm through Kelly so i get no reimbursement :(

And yes i believe it is high. We're not in a big city though. We couldnt find any other service providers near us. My parents bill for phone, internet, and cable is around $170 a month.

$35 for the additional phone line was the bundle price..

You need to sign the offer PDF. There is a box in top right corner that says click to sign. You have an option to place an image of your signature (i took a picture of my signature with my iphone and cropped) or you can sign your signature with mouse. You need to add text to print your name and add requested dates. Save the signed PDF, it should name itself "your Name-signed" and attach to your I accept reply email. You need to sign the offer PDF and email back, you just don't need to FedEx it.

I was told by my recruiter *not* to sign anything with the soft copy of the offer, although she stated some folks do. The email instructions state to simply reply with "I Accept" or "I Decline", with reason for declination. The reply is just so they know to schedule you for your virtual paperwork session. After I-9 approval, a FedEx label is emailed to you so that you can send back the hard copy of your signed offer letter and other materials. They will not accept an emailed copy as your official acceptance, hence the FedEx label being emailed.

Kelly does offer reimbursement but if I remember, it's like 10 cents per hour or something. I'm in a pretty small city and the cable company had a monopoly and charged monopoly prices until Sprint started offering internet. Very few people here actually use Sprint but just the fact that there was a choice made the existing provider drop prices.

The price on internet service is still too high... $49 for 6 Mbps downstream and 512 K upstream is a rip off but that's better than the old price.

Please don't give me empathy nonsense...That is the easiest part in the whole problem. "sorry to hear your having that problem, thats awful, I will do my best to help you get that resolved,." I've taken 20,000 calls, been promoted 3 times to tech lead for 3 different companies and handled manger escalations because I know how to retain our customers and give other techs troubleshooting tips. The only thing my post highlighted was the short comings of Apples interview process.

I don't care if you've taken 60,000 calls, that crap you just posted isn't empathy. If you had a customer on the line and you just spouted that off, not only would you probably fail the call if it were being monitored, but you'll have a customer give you hell because they can see right through your phoniness. Real empathy isn't just saying sorry. It's leveling with someone to understand why they feel the way they feel so you can then proceed to help them.

Maybe your recruiter say how much of a jackass you seem to be. You didn't get hired so your first reaction, instead of reflecting on yourself, is to blame them because they cannot possibly be professionals if they didn't hire you, right?

So many people come on here saying the same thing. News flash, kids. You didn't get hired because you're arrogant, insincere, and are probably best shoved away in a corner of an IT department someplace because you have zero real people skills.

Now now they can not help it some people know how to deal with people and some just so do not. The customer comes first and you must be able to make them feel that way even when you are putting the company first

Now now guys, lets stop the firing back and forth at each other.

What is everyone work setup like at home? What are Apple's requirements for work, etc. Just wanting to get stuff together before I start working but have not received paperwork yet

Some had to work today :(

Poor guy :( You'll still get a paid day off for the 4th so stop complaining and get back to work!

The one holiday where there's an actual shutdown is Jan. 1st. The other holidays you'll get a day off but it may or may not land on the actual holiday itself. Pretty much everyone works Christmas Eve and Christmas... the 2 busiest days of the year. You'll learn the true meaning of "slammed".

@famous... haven't seen you in chat lately. Hiding?

WOW! What a nasty little know-it-all. Some of your other posts are just as nasty. Way to go in regard to EMPATHIZING with the OP. Eagerly anticipating your being slapped down and humbled at some point. What a jerk!

It may have been brutal, but it was pretty darn true. Since you're excited to see somebody potentially get treated poorly in the future, you're not too peachy yourself, eh? ;)

I asked Apple what their requirements were for an ergonomic chair and was told it needed to be 5 star. I have yet to find out exactly what a 5 star ergonomic chair is.
Don't overthink it. A five-point 'star' base is required.

Other requirements do apply as well, regarding the height of the armrests and whatnot, but the five-point star base is just what it sounds like.

For those of you already doing the job, have you heard horror stories of people being interrupted by children/pets/roommates/tornados while on the phone? What happens?

Oh you know what it just says Week of July 15th. I had to recheck my email to find out. I know for sure its on the 10th for me. I start on the 22nd for SURE! So I guess we're in the same wave then? ;) I'm excited. I read people went through a lot. I applied on the 16th of June and was officially hired the 2nd of July. I didn't go through any interviews via face time. I had my interview over the phone. I guess my resume was impressive enough. Lol.

I'm through Kelly Services, so the interview was short and easy for me.
I'm excited though. This job seems like itll be right up my alley.
