For those are interested, I just ordered a POTS line from my local phone company.....$18 and change a month, no installation charge.

Comcast wanted $40 a month + installation and they said I had to take all the useless stuff like voice mail...

Alright everybody. Just finished my second interview for the Aug 19th class and scheduled a third one. All of the questions I got were already listed in this thread but were worded differently. For example, on the "How would you fix not being able to connect to wifi", I was asked to provide probing questions to ask the customer in a type of roleplay situation where they couldn't connect to public wifi.

At the end he said I did fairly well but to go to Apple's support site and look at the information there. I have, but of course there is just so much. Anyone have any tips for what to study on there? Do they want you to know about each device generally, or specific troubleshooting for each device, etc.? I'm scared to death about this third interview!

Thanks, everyone. I'm studying these forums and the Apple site like crazy and am just about to drive myself mad.

Background Check Question

Hello,

I have a quick question. My background is saying completed via HireRight's website. It was completed on 07/03/2013. However, it shows that I have a Class B misdemeanor that was dismissed. I am wondering if this will prevent Apple from offering a position to me? I did not list it on the application - because I honestly do not ever think about it - as it was dismissed and secondly beacuse even if I had - there was no question that prompted me to list a dismissed misdemeanor. I belive that the app asked for convictions or warrants?

The charge was for a $100.00 NSF check that I wrote when I was an Over the Road truck driver. The company sent notice of the check to an old address and I never recieved it. I was on the road 28 dyas at a time- so it was very easy for me to overlook things. However, when I changed jobs - it popped up and I went and took care of it. The judge saw the returned address and reviewed everything and dismissed it. However, on my background check it shows up as a "Theft by Check greater than $50.00 but less than $500.00 - Dismissed." Everything else on my background check is 100% on target - dates and all.

Thanks!

Dismissed misdemeanor means that the charges are dropped but it will still show on BGC if checked. Just because it shows up on the BGC doesnt mean you wont get the job, I personally had a felony charged that was disposed of meaning dropped as well, but it still showed. Hireright didnt have the conclusion on it so they called me and ask me to send verification that the case is closed. After doing so, I got my offer call 3 days later. I wouldnt worried about that because trust me the felony on my record was bad and I still got the job :).

BTW if you didnt get convicted, meaning served time for the charge, you are legally allowed to answer no to the question anyway so dont worry about it so much. Double checked with my lawyer a while back incase your worrying.

Studying is great but dont over do it. The last interview is pretty much them testing you with scenario questions and the way you answer it is key. Getting the question right is only part of it, there really looking for you to show empathy towards the customer. Try to remember to have a very cheerful personality when you do your interview. Smiling is important and if it helps, make a study guide. I honestly made a text doc and side by side it next to skype on my windows computer so I know to answer the questions correctly :D.

Thank you so very much!! I have been worrying like crazy. I know that worrying doesn't help things - but I, like most within this forum, very much need and want this position. The way that Texas terms an NSF check - as "Theft by Check" makes it sound as if I robbed someone with a "loaded check," when in all honesty, the funds were available in the account at the time that the check was written. The merchant held the check for so long before depositing it - that I assumed it had cleared and never thought twice about it.

Anyways, I won't bore you or bog down the forum with my cries of innocent - I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to reply.

Happy to help you relax a little :). And trust me I know what you mean about needing this job, my current job is cutting hours harshly and the job market sucks where I am in FL. I honestly applied for this job on a whim so I didnt think I would get hired at all, especially with a terrible felony I was accused with. No where would even give me a chance to explain but apple did, I honestly think your going to get the job and good luck to you!

Hello,

I had my 2nd interview last Friday. The woman said I would know in 3-5 days. Its been 8 days now and nothing. Is that a bad sign? Is it normal for them to be late?

Unfortunatly it does not look good. I would call your recruiter and follow up on Monday to see what is going on.

Good luck

I was going to call today but I don't think the recruiter works on Saturday.

They don't... just us grunts on Sat./Sun. You should have something by end of business Mon. or Tue.... either that or the mail got labeled spam somehow.

Thanks but there are many reps a lot better than me. I'm just one of the few working ones that visit this thread. My stats are pretty good overall but I'm not really a people person and that's what this job is all about.
