For those of you already doing the job, have you heard horror stories of people being interrupted by children/pets/roommates/tornados while on the phone? What happens?

Kids are by far the biggest interruption I encounter. I don't have any horror stories but there was one rep on our shift whose customer's husband went into cardiac arrest while she was on the phone getting her iPad fixed.

I already had a full home office set up complete with an additional phone number and hardwired rj11 jack used only for my fax which will now become my Apple phone line and have xfinity high speed broadband for my internet. The only thing that had to be changed was my high back leather executive chair because it was not ergnomic. I asked Apple what their requirements were for an ergonomic chair and was told it needed to be 5 star. I have yet to find out exactly what a 5 star ergonomic chair is. I'm thinking it needs to have these 5 adjustments as detailed from Apple's website http://www.apple.com/about/ergonomics/seat.html For 12 years I had an Aeron fully adjustable chair with lumbar at work and it was the most comfortable chair I ever sat in. They are very expensive so I was looking into used ones on craigslist and ebay. I was lucky enough to find a new one from a dealer on ebay that had ALL the options and combined with free shipping was less than half the cost of buying new from the manufacturer Herman Miller or an authorized dealer. Good Luck and hope this helps.

Thanks for the information its been very helpful in looking for a chair! I almost got something a tad cheaper that didnt meet a few requirements but will certainly get the right kind now.

thanks! thanks for all of the advice/help too. ready to see what comes of this interview Monday..

Congrats on the offer, I am assuming you were contacted by Apple corporate which is always a + and typically will mean higher pay.

Apple actually offered me enough to quit my part time job at best buy and take on this full time and make more than previous job!

Even tho it is a call support position it can be wild and crazy at times.

I was hired on the 2nd too.
I'm through Kelly Services, so the interview was short and easy for me.
I'm excited though. This job seems like itll be right up my alley.

Me too!!!! I've always had call center jobs. I worked at AT&T call center, Time Warner call center. I've done appointment setting, telemarketing, sales etc. U name it I've done it. I keep reading this position is mainly customer service vs tech support either way I'm excited. Kelly Services process was really quick for me. I cannot wait to start. The only bummer about this position is that the Apple applicants are making almost 5 bucks more than us. But hey A WORK at home job is the best regardless right? Lol So do you know what Wave you're in?

----------

How long did it take you guys to get the offer email?

This how it went for me, I'm through Kelly Services.

June 16th: applied via CareerBuilder
June 18th: received an assessment email
June 20th: Call from KellyConnect (asked qualifying questions)
June 21st: Interview via phone
June 21st: On-boarding/Background info completed same day.
June 24th: Received E-Pay info
June 25th: Filled out I-9, and filled out various tax papers and some agreements working for Kelly Services.
June 28th: Called to check on status, came back my background check was favorable.
July 2nd: Call to offer position and offer email stating the final requirements. I had to e-sign a new addendum and send order emails of my dedicated phone line and internet service.

TODAY JULY 5TH!??! WAITING TO GET READY lol! :D

I'm in Wave 37"A" session 8 :)
And yes it stinks that people directly through apple make a lot more. Have you applied directly to Apple?
I tried but got no response :/

But i expected that. This will be my first job. So im grateful even Kelly hired me. Any other job around my area would start at the state minimum. So im happy :)

I have a question. When you got the email after you accepted to the position, did you have to sign something and email it back to them?

I still have to provide proof.. I set up and appointment to get my phone installed and my company was supposed to send a confirmation email about it but never did. :/

Wow, the Aeron chair was my favorite part of my previous job with the government. Although I worked at a university, my program was federally funded and our office found itself at the end of a fiscal year needing to spend money or lose it in our budget for the next fiscal year (basically budget would be reduced by amount out department didn't spend in the previous FY). Anyway, our Dept. Manager bought wonderful. Aeron Chairs for everyone. Looking at it, I was highly doubtful if I would prefer it to my plush leather executive chair. Boy I was wrong! It's the best chair I ever sat in. If you don't mind, will you PM me the info of the eBay seller who has these? Thanks so much!
Other than that, I have a wooden nice desh and Aeron looking chair, but its a knockoff. #

Awww I'm in session 6....whatever that means. Lol. Anyway. Yes there was an attachment the Addendum, its a Adobe file you have to E-Sign its quite simple you can just use your mouse. My internet wont be installed until sunday, but all I sent was an email screenshot saying I ordered internet. Now for the phone they are strict. They emailed me and said they need PROOF that my home line has no features. I set up an online account with AT&T and noticed they gave me call waiting, I had to call back and remove it off my line. And once I did that, my services were updated fast. For internet however with Time Warner Cable, I got a confirmation email, no installation email like they said I would.

I have been reading this forum for about 2 weeks now! I was stressing out because I didn't know what the hold up was, well I received a call Tuesday and an email offer as well. I will be training July 10th, July 15th and training officially begins July 22nd. Anybody with me in the Wave 37 "A" Session 6 Full time class?
Its IOS.

I'm really trying figure out how these classes are determined I was originally scheduled for a July 1st Class and i got my offer call a week or so before you and for some reason I was put in a August 26th class and im seeing the same from few other ppl just like me that they also are in the august 26, and most of us have not received our official email offer yet and were told to give it at least a week or two before we do and you got yours in three days ?? based off when we got our call it seems our background checks were submitted and completed first for the exact same full time IOS position. just taking a wild guess since we got our offer calls first so that kind throws that theory out the window of that being why and I applied Over a year ago so it can't be based off when you applied, i just don't get it

The process seems a lot faster when you apply with Kelly instead of Apple. Oh well at least we know our offer email is coming soon right? Lol hopefully they can put us in a sooner training class. I was originally offered July 15 but got pushed to aug 26

You will be fine. Just let your recruiter know up front. Just send them the order form that should be sufficient enough. Oh and to answer your previous question, yes I applied with Apple. But I'm glad I went through Kelly Services! Lol that process seems too tedious.

I am not sure. All I know is I went through KellyConnect. They said I would be trouble shooting iPod/iPhone issues. I have both, although I'm not a "Guru" I come from a technical background in a call center setting. Maybe you are doing something else. Or maybe the recruiters in different cities/states work faster. I am in Ohio. I'm not sure how its determined, but I would JUST DIE if I had to wait until the end of August :(

Alright guys, do you know if you can use magic jack as your line? Also, does this position require you to work holidays like today? or Christmas or Easter?

Not sure if your question was answered but they specifically told me NO magic jack. Something like AT&T, Qwest, Sage etc. And yes you work on Holidays. Esp Christmas, people get gifts like that on those days and they def need help configuring.

My cable company didnt even want to give me a receipt for proof. I had to lie about what i was using it for cause they kept telling me it was a business line. When i went in to get a receipt they kept questioning me.

I even got a response from apple saying its not a business line. I hate my cable company.

At least i got the proof though :D
Im going to send them everything tonight.

And yes, Apple has like 3-4 interviews. Kelly had one very short easy one.

Lol I KNOW that's why I wanna know why ppl say they gotta work holidays. I mean if they r closed for 4th gotta think thanksgiving Xmas and any other federal holiday is the same

4th of July: not known for manic purchases of Apple devices.
Christmas: lots of new devices to support, lots of working.
