Hmmmm wonder if there are two different 8/12 classes? Is your training is full time and you will be working part time is this correct? I was hired as full time and told training was also full time. I haven't been told which yet, but would prefer to be in CPU.

Training is full time for everyone, then part time goes to 20 hours after that. If you were hired for full time there's a pretty good chance you're in CPU(just a guess) as most iOS hires are part time. The majority of iOSers are hired part time because 40 hours phone time can be rough when it's all iPhones, iPods and iPads.

I hope it all works our for you. My first interview ended not long ago, and I feel that I did pretty well as she told me that she will be recommending me for the second round of interviews. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the next week she said it would likely take to hear whether or not I get a second interview.

it went really well today. she said she was going to fwd me more information about a 2nd FaceTime interview that would be 45-60 min long

and never did.

hoping she will tomorrow.

----------

i have my first interview via telephone for the full time mac expert post

anyone interview for this yet here? interested to see what kind of questions i will be asked...

I think a lot has changed, it's been quite a few of us told full time IOS.

I guess it has changed. Last year almost all the iOS hiring was part time and CPU full time. Good thing too. While I could probably do full time now without losing my mind, had I been full time my first few months I would have quit for sure.

Final FaceTime interview went very well yesterday evening! Anxiously awaiting the HireRight email now. Seems like most people receive them within three or so days at the longest, so I'm trying to remain patient until Wednesday/Thursday! Will update as things move along. I'll also make a timeline to contribute to the thread search either way things go.

Also, if anybody is wondering, I am being considered for the August 19th class and I DID confirm that it is a CPU class.

Congratulations! It seems if you get the HireRight email and your BGC is clean, nearly everyone gets the job. The waiting is the hardest part! I started this long journey in early June and start next Monday. That was quick compared to some whose timeline spanned months.

Thanks a lot! :) That's what I've been reading, yeah! I'm only slightly worried, because there was a period of time there where I moved, switched schools/jobs, and had a few family tragedies to boot, so some of the dates on my work history were more or less guesses. But aside from that, all looks good. Just a matter of getting that HireRight email!

I applied July 1st and received the first phone call literally 10 minutes after hitting submitting my app. The day after, I had my "second" interview, and just yesterday I had my third/final interview. It's been blazingly fast for me, which I am extremely happy about!

I think they might be ramping up CPU support prior to the introduction of Mavericks this fall.

That's what I was thinking, too. I wonder if the training will cover Mavericks. Given an August start date and 5 weeks of training, we'll be (hopefully!) finishing up training around the time it's released.

Sooo after a long 2 plus weeks of waiting for my background check to come back from HireRight, it came with employment date discrepancies. Although they were able to verify I was employed at the job listed, they said the dates wasn't correct :)confused:).

As I explained to HireRight, I did not know the exact dates, but you could still verify my employment, right!? They stated they have to report the discrepancy to Apple.

My Recruiter from Apple asked if I could provide stubs from 2005 (which is impossible). At this point, i'm at a loss.

Those that are in your last phase (which is the background check), plsssssssss, make sure your dates are as accurate as you possible can get them. It's very unfortunate that dates can hinder you from employment...

On your HireRight BGC you will enter the information regarding work history, salary, etc., and this is what they go by, not what you listed on your Apple application. They verify via a paid service called The Work Number (http://www.theworknumber.com/). Try to contact your previous employers for more concrete data regarding your start/end dates or maybe contact The Work Number directly. It does seem that some small discrepancy related to dates may be accepted, but if there are multiple discrepancies all around on your BGC that can cause them to either pass or ask for more documentation from you to back up what you reported on your HireRight form.

Fingers crossed for you, BlakeAU. Hope this helps!

That's really reassuring. In the meantime, I'll be making phone calls to various HR departments and such to make sure that my dates are correct. Thank you so much for the encouragement and info. Here I am freaking out thinking I aced the interviews but will get hung up on a work history issue!

You've put my mind at ease!

Still waiting on an offer call or rejection letter. My BGC reads:

Request Completion Date: 7/2/2013 12:36 PM
Adjudication Status Set: 7/3/2013 5:55 AM

All of my employment history dates were exact however, a dismissed misdemeanor did show up.

I do not know if this timeframe means that I'll be rejected. I am supposed to be in the Full-time CPU class which begins on 08/05. Up until this point things were moving pretty fast. I'm hoping for the best - but as time goes on, I am beginning to expect the worst. :(

When I look at my profile on the apple careers site - I still cannot access my application and when I try to view activity it occasionaly sends me to an internal employee log in screen. I am so confused and anxious.

Stay strong! Given those dates, I suspect that the holiday and the weekend shortly after might have put things a bit behind. Keep us all updated, and best of luck!

EDIT: Also, if you don't mind me asking, how long after your final interview did you receive the HireRight email?

My turn now

Hi,
I've been reading posts on here now for 2 weeks so I thought I would post up. Like most of you I am waiting on my back ground check. I am slated for the Aug 5th class cpu and was told that it is fulltime. I just wish I knew what was going on so I would know weather to have another phone line installed or not. I don't know about you all but here its almost impossible to get something installed without waiting for about 7 to 10 days time frame. Aug 5th is coming up quick and don't have much time to wait. Anywho thats my rant. Nice chatting with ya.

Hey guys. Here's an update.

I got my offer call today. I'm waiting on the email now.

I'm now slated for August 26th now, however.

It's ok though. I'm SUPER excited.

I definitely understand - it looks like we will be in class together. I've done the background check - just waiting on the offer call. Hopefully we'll hear something today ;)

BGC just completed today with flying colors :) Only thing was that I put my start date from a previous job as 9/1/11 - 11/1/11 and the actually date was 9/14/11 - 11/7/11 but that is the only thing that has a discrepency. How fast do people usually hear back after a completed BGC?

I just contacted my contact at Apple and she said they are still making final hiring decisions and I will hear from my recruiter this week or next. I am going for the August 5th training class for CPU.

Background check just finished today :)
