So I went through all three interviews, did great, and submitted my BGC on 6/29. On 7/5 I was notified that HireRight was having trouble verifying a previous employment. I called them immediately and spoke with someone and I told them that I did not have a W2 because I was paid less than the amount to claim on taxes and it was paid to me in cash. It was a dinky graphic design job. After explaining my problem several times the woman I spoke to said she would just need a contact number for my supervisor that can confirm my employment which I gave her. She said that's all that would be needed and everything would be okay.

I checked on 7/9 after finding out my employer had been contacted that my HireRight account status changed from "Action Required" to "Documents Received. No Action Required." I was so happy! However, later that day my Apple recruiter emailed me asking me to submit a pay stub to verify my employment. I explained the situation and re-explained what I had said to HireRight. I have not heard back from her however, its barely been 24 hours since she sent me the email. My BGC is still "In Progress." I have a clean criminal record and I have only had one speeding ticket in my life.

It was stupid probably to put down this employment but I wanted to be thorough. I have seen others on this forum get turned away because of wrong start and end dates. So my question is, should I be prepared to receive a "thanks for playing" email after all this? And also any thoughts on the situation?

anyone want to take a look at my cover letter / resume ?

i've changed my salary info and applied to some more locations; still zero luck even getting a call from a recruiter

normally, do they call during the day or morning or what?

How long ago did you apply? I applied June 2nd and I haven't heard anything. I actually was a technical trainer so I think that this would be great. I am thinking of reapplying but when I go to the apple site it says I already applied to this position. Are apply again?

I applied May 5th and received my initial call on June 18 so it took over a month for me to get a call. That"s weird because some people get called as soon as they submit their app.

BTW, I applied twice, I was called from the second one with a cover letter. Set up another apple id thingy to bypass the "aready applied for this position" message. hope this helps!

Did you not have a cover letter the first time? Did you change your resume at all?

In the first application, i did not have a cover letter. and yes i tweaked my resume a lil bit. Just made it a lil more customer service focused with a tech background. The first one focused on the tech aspect.

Just had my second Skype interview a hour ago and she pushed me through to a third interview and said I would receive a email with the details. Just wondering what the third interview is all about? What types of questions are asked and how does it compare to the second. I was asked basic technical questions but the skype thing was kinda strange. A few of the questions caught me off guard like when RAM refreshes and how iCloud worked. Not that I don't know the answers because I answered them correctly just kinda random things.

The questions were the same idea. They asked me the difference between bluetooth and wi-fi. Then asked me to role-play. They're looking to see if you have just a teeny bit of knowledge in tech, but are much more concerned with your ability to speak with an interact with a person. That's why people with 10+ years IT experience have been turned down for the job and some sales guy from Best Buy who has been there for 4 years gets the job.

I've mentioned it quite a few times in this thread... It's not what you know, it's who you are that matters. You're not writing login scripts or executing SQL commands here, you're making customers feel better about owning Apple products.

On the flip side of that... anyone that would work for Best Buy for 4 years has some serious problems.

yea I was with BestBuy as well before apple, I feel like anything can beat that lol

and I question because I feel like I am the only one maybe thinking like this, but doesn't anyone else just feel like responding to the offer email with "I accept" is just not assuring. They have like a date and time they have to receive emails by, and I accepted as soon as I got the email. But I just cant stop thinking about how many other people must have responded to the recruiters email and being that they are only human, what if they accidently deleted one of our "I accept" emails, or overlook it, it goes into the junk file, I don't know anything!! it just makes me feel like doing it that way is taking a chance of them missing out on a email and then they may assume we just missed the deadline, I don't know I just feel a offer should be more official

Can anyone clarify a question regarding references? If references are going to be called, is it done by HireRight or by Apple?

Just looked at my completed background check, and there is nothing regarding references.

For those that are worried about their background check, just wait it out. I know it was hard but I received my offer call this morning and my background check was completed on 7/3. Also previously I had to provide additional documents for the background check. It was due to not being sure for the dates of one of my employments about 2 years ago. I know it sucks but the people at HireRight DO document everyting you tell them and it does appear on the background check document once it is completed. If you realized you were not 100% sure on the dates of employment just call HR and explain that. Also if you have not heard anything pertaining to your background check feel free to contact HR and they will direct you to who you need to contact. As soon as mines was completed I sent the hiring manager an email stating it was completed and what was the next step in the process. Good luck to all :D and this forum is definitely helpful with the wait.

Do you know if they send tracking info for the equipment?

No, not normally.

BUT you can get the tracking number by Signing Up for FedEx Package Manager

http://www.fedex.com/us/delivery/

click the purple sign up button and after you signup and login you will be able to view INCOMING packages to your address. I was told that I would receive my equipment on friday or Saturday but it came earlier. Just make sure someone 18 or older is at home to sign for the packages on the estimated delivery date.
