I'd really like to explain how AHA reps position Apple Protection Plan but as someone in this thread pointed out,"Apple does not tolerate discussion of it's business practices in a public forum".

Oh... That was you, wasn't it?

LOL! Now you know good and well that I was referring to said discussion with with regard to the inclusion of unique identifying information - NAMES. Really, Mr Nibbles,
considering the amount of information you have already divulged, one would have to assume that had another individual asked the same questions, then you would have answered without issue. A cheeky response, when I took the initiative to warn others of their infraction, is not well deserved. But alas, it is utterly factual that there is indeed "one in every crowd," (or in this case - several).

Best wishes.

Hello Everyone, :D
My name is Jon I have an interview Monday. Im nervous as all get out. I'm afraid I'm going to be over qualified. I would do this job just for the perks :p
I love Apple. It's my dream job as it is for many people.

I have reviewed many of the post and am getting a document together of already written answers for the interview. Does anyone have any recommendations for me. I have been in IT all my life since High School computers (PC) is all I know. MAC is a new territory for my but shouldn't be hard for me to master. I am looking for a career in this position not sure if I should tell Apple that. :apple:

Thank you everyone for input

I have a couple of things for you, as someone who has gone through the hiring/interviewing process and am looking forward to my paperwork session on Monday (see the rest of you there!!):

1. Don't use your real name on these forums.
2. If you're applying for an AHA position, it doesn't really matter how much tech experience you have. If you don't have customer service skills, they won't hire you. They're not looking for tech experts.
3. A company values those with longevity in mind. It's never a bad thing to convey your interest in sticking it out and moving up the chain.
4. Don't come across like you're "overqualified." It makes you seem arrogant--and I'm sure you're not and don't want to be perceived that way.
5. Just be really friendly and honest. Again, I can't stress enough that they're looking for individuals with great people skills.
6. When they ask you a question, don't over-think it. Start with the obvious, simple answers. Don't assume because a Macbook Pro won't turn on that it's a faulty display or something. Check the power cord, use a different plug, etc. It seems simple, but a lot of the calls you'll get are from people who have ZERO computer knowledge and don't have basic troubleshooting skills.

Hope this has been helpful. Good luck to you. I wish you the best!

----------

Hey all!

My paperwork session is Monday at 11. I was told I'd receive the paperwork in the mail by today through FedEx. What is the general consensus as far as receiving a tracking number? I haven't received one yet.

I'm sure it's fine--as I can just use whatever they email me, but just wanted to check in.

I read through the posts, but there was a lot of conflicting material regarding this issue.

See you guys there!

So far here is my time line

7/15 I applied for another apple corporate position
7/18 Got an interested email for AHA position saying I grabbed there attention for AHA and to reply if I would like to be considered for the position
7/18 Replied and got a call an hour later stating the job, pay, benefits and then asked me a few IT questions. Immediately asked me to set up 2nd interview in a few days, said to complete official application right after
7/18 Did the official application within 30 minutes

I have not seen anyone else get the official application email right after the first call, is that good? Nervous for my second interview!!

I was just yanking your chain :) Anyway, I'd have no problem answering your question but it a rather complicated answer and I'm not very fond of typing. I will say that we are encouraged to promote Apple Care + and Apple Protection Plan but we are in no way forced to "up sell" it. The most important stat in Apple's eyes is customer satisfaction... most of the other stuff is secondary.

My boyfriend just accepted this job and he has no idea what it is either. Anyone have a clue?

You will answer calls for customers calling the national call center..ask for Serial #, determine support and transfer. Something like an operator.

Hi. I been following this thread for awhile now. I received the call back this week and offered the job. I searched the thread but my question is how long does it take to receive the job offer email? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Only partly right. You do not just determine support and transfer. A wealth of support information is given to you and very comprehensive troubleshooting takes place at Tier 1. You don't have to be an expert at troubleshooting, you just have to be an expert at locating the information that applies to the customer's issue.

Secondly, your primary job is to make the customer happy. You can even inadvertently give the customer incorrect information and still be good as long as the customer is happy and you tried. This job is like no other when it comes to satisfaction priority.

An "operator" you're not.

I didn't receive one for 2 weeks. I finally called and had one in my inbox the next morning. Don't wait as long as I did.

They're not talking about an AHA position here, they're talking about a Customer Director Representative position.
