No problem! Also check out your I-9 instructions sheet. It lists examples of a few other places you can go if an Apple store can't see you in time.

I hate to bother you again. I truly thank you so much for your help yesterday. I just wanted to ask if Sunday was a good day for the appointment. I talked to the local Apple store today and the person who answered the phone told me to come in on Sunday between 1pm and 5:30 pm. I was just wondering was that a good day to do it. Is Apple's human resources department open on Sundays?

I know that, in my group at least, the true believers ('Apple can do no wrong' types) seem to enjoy the job quite a bit. They're also mostly young, which affords them an optimism and naïveté that I haven't possessed for several decades now. By the time I'm your age, I can only imagine what a burst of sunshine I'll be.

I used to write quite a bit, back when life was interesting and I had things to say. If life had remained interesting, it's unlikely that I would have wound up doing AHA work for a living. Alas, I made a rather impressive series of bad decisions that led me to the paradise of phone calls, iOS, and Apple ID. A blog about the phone calls might be amusing, but the aforementioned bad decisions have left my résumé looking a little shaky so I need to stay employed until I can find something better.

Whatever idealism I may have had was shot by the time I was 30. I had crisscrossed the globe a few times by then and all it had made me was well traveled and very jaded. I still dabble in optimism sometimes but that's a hard thing to do when you look upon the world with an eye of a realist.

I hear you with the bad decisions... been there, done that. Oscar Wilde once said,"Experience is the name we give to our mistakes". I've got a lot of experience.

Question about the computer they send you: I know it is for work purposes only and plan on using it for only such, but what if I wanted to use it as just a monitor with my Macbook Pro hooked up during non-work time? Is that a no-go?

Ermm you could do it, but Apple can remote in to your computer at anytime and do anything they want. Also if I remember, I think I heard something about the mac being on Auto-ON and Auto-OFF

A "good" day is just any day that somebody is willing/able to meet with you. If they asked you to come in on Sunday during that time, do so, and you should be fine.

Thank you so much. The person on the phone seemed a bit miffed after I told them that I would be an Apple At-Home Advisor. I was just making sure that I was being given the correct instructions from the store before contacting recruiter about it. I didn't want to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Thank you so very much! You are so kind :).

Only thing not covered in paperwork session, do our health benefits take place immediately or after 90 day probation or something similar?

Yeah I've seen in the forum where they sign up on the first day for benefits and had their cards the following week, so its pretty quick. I was also on that phone call.. It was nice to see people ask the same stupid question 5 times... How many times are we going to go over addresses people.........

I scheduled my paperwork session for Tuesday at noon. How long was the call. I will be on lunch break at my current job so curious. Did you receive a package in the mail before the call?

Paperwork session lasted about an hour--very close to it (it could be sooo much quicker, but inevitably, people will ask the same ridiculous questions over and over and over). I was also on my lunch break at my current job, and it worked out just fine. You're supposed to receive a FedEx package with a folder full of forms before the paperwork session, but some people don't receive it in time. That's okay, as they send out soft copies via email the morning of the session so you can follow along and ask questions.

Thanks! Looking forward to getting all this done and out of the way. Gave my current job a two week notice today so ready to start!
