I think I remember seeing somewhere that we get a landline phone. Anyone know anything about this special contraption? Could be mistaken as well.
It's probably just a typical avaya call center phone.
So I'm kinda freakin out on the inside & none of my friends would ever come close to understand so I figured I'd join you guys instead of lurking like a creepy weirdo.
I am SOOO very anxious & impatient. But at the same time that I am overly anticipating Apple's next move, I'm also terrified of dropping the ball now that they've actually seen my resume & contacted me & everything.
- Applied for both locations near me on Aug 16th.
- Got the email "Apple wants to know more about you!" at 12:03am Aug 25th.
- Hit "send" on the probably overly OCD meticulously formatted version of the questionnaire/responses at 1:04pm Aug 25th.
I'm doing the whole home-call-center-agent inbound tech support/cust svc rep thing elsewhere (not for Apple but for a TV/ISP) right now. I've also worked in outbound dialing & auto-dial call-center settings but for credit card payment processing. All my employer history/experience is pure customer service & call-center. My computer knowledge is all just because this is what I love & what I'm constantly learning more about as a hobby. So this job is a reaaallyyyy cool deal to me & I am hoping I don't make a fool out of myself. I want this bad.
Ugh I'm going to go be an anxious wreck until I hear if I've been chosen for an interview or rejected! If so I will go back to my way lower pay, way slower paced and NON technical tech-support job in peace...
crying. haha for a little bit at least.
just sayin.
Never been in a call center. Just curious why a special phone is needed.
I have an interview coming up.(The third one with the hiring manager)
I was curious about the background check. I have no criminal record or anything. Had 1 speeding ticket over 5 years ago. But that's not really what im worried about.
I listed my old employers on my resume but I never made enough to report it to the irs, and it was always for cash.
Do they just call the place of employment, should I let the hiring manager know about that, so they can verify over the phone that yes, I did work there through the time periods i listed on my resume.
Hopefully someone has some good information for me!
Getting pretty antsy over here!
Thanks again.
Have been interviewed twice for At Home Advisor for iTunes and have submitted HireRight's background check. Can anyone give me info about requirements (other than no felony convictions) that Apple has regarding background check? Would really love to have this job. Am on pins and needles.
You sound like you have enough call center experience to do well. Just make sure you brush up on your apple tech stuff and focus on customer service. You can be taught the apple stuff and they have articles to help you, but good customer service is harder to teach. I would suggest taking the list of questions that have been posted on here several times and brush up, but other than that, it sounds like you have a good amount of experience which will be to your advantage. The wait was the hardest out of all of it for me but just think positive and check your email and spam/junk regularly. Good luck with your interviews! Hopefully we'll see you on the Apple side soon! ^_^
Thank you much for the input! I feel really confident as far as customer service goes. I know a lot about Apple and have always been a computer nerd, just doesn't show on paper. I'm sooo hoping I get offered an interview because once I can actually speak to them instead of type, I feel like I could win em over. Or at least up my chances by a lot.
Definitely going to be making a Pages doc full of notes I find here and on Apple.com.
Oh & just to put it out there, the questionnaire listed 10/8 as the date training begins. I'm from a suburb of Dallas & applied for the Dallas and Frisco AHA positions.
I really hope they give me a time frame of when they will call (if they want to move forward with me, that is) so I can make sure I'm awake & prepped to the fullest extent!
Yeah I'm in Garland and I applied to every location in Texas and nearby states. I dunno which one actually triggered a quicker response or if it was just because I used my original apple Id for the second application.
I begin sept 10.
I posted a bunch of questions from my final interview earlier if you want to check those out.
Once hired, what is the training schedule?
The only thing I'm really concerned about now is getting my phone line. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have comcast internet and cable so I was thinking about just getting my phone line through them. My concern is that the volume of calls is going to overload the line or that they're going to try and charge me more because the amount of calls I'm taking. Has anyone had any experience with them? I know some people have been talking about using non-traditional phone lines, but I have no experience with that kind of thing. Could anyone offer some advice? Also, I sent in my acceptance email, but was just wondering when I should be expecting my packet of papers or the next step.
I received my offer phone call on Wed 8/22 but I still have not received my acceptance email. Hopefully will get that soon! I don't start until 9/24 so I guess no hurry.

Just finished up my 3rd interview. Waiting to hear. So nervous.
I'm in the same boat, received my phone offer on 8/21 and am still waiting for the acceptance email with a 9/24 start date, hope they didn't change their mind ;-)
