Research....

I did research this thread for the answers to my question but there was different variables like.... working through Kelly, Working straight for Apple, CPU, IOS, etc....... I guess maybe I was asking the wrong questions but i have not clearly found my answer. People say CPU training is 5 weeks.....but does that include orientation days...is it exactly 5 weeks.... do you work full time for EXACTLY 5 weeks....Am I wrong for maybe wanting to know more specific answers. I am sure you get the same questions over and over again while doing this job maybe just worded differently.

No problem...that wasn't toward you. It was more towards myself cause I was not asking the right questions...... I appreciate everyones input throughout this thread. i don't think I would have got this job without this thread.

When I started reading this thread it was all labour research now it's all about people telling the answers right off the bat then it went to telling how things work and what employees get such as what kinda of perks now I know that makes it more exciting but come on people really not to sound rude but a lot of question have already been answered back in thread if you can not research for them how are you going to so this job from what I gathered research is 90 percent of the job

It's not so much that the questions have been asked already, it's the fact that the questions are irrelevant in the overall scheme of things. For people that have been hired, your exact training/nesting schedule will be known on your first day. If you haven't been hired then it doesn't make any difference.

For people in iOS part time, training is 4 weeks full time and nesting is 1 week full time. Then you start your part time schedule. CPU is 5/1 but don't quote me on that.

I totally understand where your coming from AG. Normally it wouldn't bother me but I took a step of faith going for this job and because of that I suffered a little financially this summer. I have a 7 year old son and I want to do something with him before summer break ends. And honestly knowing whether we are working full time 4 weeks or 5 weeks or 6 weeks makes a difference and my deciding what I can do for my son. I know in most cases it doesn't matter but for these circumstances I wanted to know. Thanks everyone.

Congrats. Did they say if you we're is CPU or iOS? I'm in the same class.

Come to think of it...no. LOL. I think a lot of this process is big secret lol. Nothing too revealing. Still no emails from corporate. We are best just to be patient. Did they tell you anything??

As far as iOS goes, I was told training would be a total of five weeks during my last interview (for the Sept 9th class), if that helps any.

In others news, I did receive a HireRight email this morning for background check verification, keeping my fingers crossed for now!

Hi just checked the apple site and it says the job is no longer available in phx area , closest avail english position is almost 200 miles away.

I couldn't find anything other than game support listed with Kelly Services. Does anyone know if Apple hires for this position pretty often or only certain times of the year?

Thanks!

I guess the pay rates vary on where you live.. I'm mid west and getting over 16.00 an hour, won't post the actual amount, I'm paranoid like that.

I am sure they take cost of living in your state into thought when sending out a dollar offer. I am southeast and getting around $15

My understanding is that the geographical locations of the job listings are irrelevant. Apparently there was a time when a 100-mile radius applied, but that time is gone. I'm not an Apple recruiter though, so my observation might be worth exactly what you paid for it.

anyone like me?

I haven't gone through the entire thread, just some of it, so this question may have been answered earlier. Anyone around who is also starting Aug.19 but starting through Kelly Services, not directly thru Apple so I imagine the hiring process is much different than what some others described. But there are some things I'd like to know, like when they send laptop/headset after completing all the paperwork via online, fax and postal mail?

The iMac, phone and headset will arrive the week before you start. Most likely on a Friday or Saturday I was told. And this matches posts on this forum of when people got thier equipment. Hope this helps

They send a phone? I didn't know that. I ordered a corded headset compatible phone from Best Buy, its on its way.

Actually, with Kelly it's a little different. You get your equipment (iMac, phone, and iPod Touch) right before the second orientation and you are expected to have it all set up before that second orientation.

Also, for the person who was saying that they can't find the job on Kelly's site, that is most likely due to the fact that they're finished with their big ramp up. I don't know when their next hiring push will be.

Aug 12th Class

Has anyone in the August 12th class gotten their email with the fedex tracking number for the equipment yet?? I am so excited that we are only a matter of days away from starting. I have a tech coming out today to do my phone line finally. The big phone company in the area was a joke. I found another company that does business lines, can do a no feature line cheap and understands exactly what I need because they have a telecommuter who works for IBM call center and needs the same line. Thank heavens for people who have a clue!

I re-posted this earlier and will paste here. I start August 12th also and my welcome email said you could request a tracking number as necessary. I just signed up for Fedex manager and Fedex will notify me of all shipments, details, updates and progress for any packages shipping to my address. I elected to receive status via text.

click the purple sign up button and after you signup and login you will be able to view INCOMING packages to your address. I was told that I would receive my equipment on friday or Saturday but it came earlier. Just make sure someone 18 or older is at home to sign for the packages on the estimated delivery date.

Thank you! I had forgotten about that and I had seen your post earlier about it. We have no door bell here at the house so I prefer to know when to watch for fedex. I will sign up right now.

I'm confused. I'm moving forward in the process, in the final stages, but I feel like I don't have all the info I need to know. A business line? As far as the phone line, couldn't it be a regular home phone line as long as you don't have voicemail or call waiting features? That was the impression I was given, not that you needed a separate business line specifically. That was never told to me.

You don't need a business line. Just a regular old phone line. No features. You're on target. No worries.
