I'm confused. I'm moving forward in the process, in the final stages, but I feel like I don't have all the info I need to know. A business line? As far as the phone line, couldn't it be a regular home phone line as long as you don't have voicemail or call waiting features? That was the impression I was given, not that you needed a separate business line specifically. That was never told to me.
You do NOT need a business line. For me a company that only does business phone lines worked out cheaper then the local phone company because quite honestly they are highly incompetent and horrible if your phone line goes down. The business line works best in my circumstance, please do not think that is what you need.

You don't need a business line. Just a regular old phone line. No features. You're on target. No worries.

FYI for those who have Verizon, I told them I wanted to "add a line for a fax machine." It cost nothing to install and the bill will be about $25 per month.

OK, thank you all. I understand now.

I had my interview through kellyconnect last wednesday and I was just wondering did anyone else go through the hiring process with kelly instead of apple and how long did it take for the background check to come back??? I was told that I would be in the sept 2 training class and orientation would be on August 19 and August 26 but mow Im worried that it might change since I read that kelly is not longer hiring, con someone please help me with the answers if you can I alread had my interview on July 31 and was told I would move forward in the process but now im nervous that this might not be true

I did my interview thru kellyconnect also. As explained to me, criminal background check is the longest wait for kelly services. And you should know if there's anything in there or not. They may move forward with you anyway, assuming it'll check out fine. That's the purpose of the 'conditional' offer. Did you receive one?

My understanding is that the geographical locations of the job listings are irrelevant. Apparently there was a time when a 100-mile radius applied, but that time is gone. I'm not an Apple recruiter though, so my observation might be worth exactly what you paid for it.

Come October of 2012 (I believe), they re-did the Apple jobs website, and that 100 mile radius requirement was no longer listed in the job description.

I had my first FaceTime interview fairly recently (and am paranoid to give exact dates yet, but I'm at the second interview in the process) but I was given the "3 to 5 business day" card by the recruiter.

Should I completely rule out that I'm being moved on and just be expecting the 'thanks for playing' email or should I hold out a little longer? I have been sending emails to them along the way but haven't heard back any sort of responses.

No, don't rule it out. The timelines have varied so much for each person, that nothing is a certainty until it happens. It's hard not to assume the worst--but try not to quite yet. :) Good luck!

I re-posted this earlier and will paste here. I start August 12th also and my welcome email said you could request a tracking number as necessary. I just signed up for Fedex manager and Fedex will notify me of all shipments, details, updates and progress for any packages shipping to my address. I elected to receive status via text.

click the purple sign up button and after you signup and login you will be able to view INCOMING packages to your address. I was told that I would receive my equipment on friday or Saturday but it came earlier. Just make sure someone 18 or older is at home to sign for the packages on the estimated delivery date.

So I tried signing up for the fedex delivery manager. I was able to create an account but for some reason it could not verify my address. I talked to a rep at fedex.com to try to figure it out. She said they use a third party to verify that it's a valid address(which granted I have gotten about ten fedex packages over the year at this address) and for some reason they are not verifying it correctly. So I can't proceed any further unless they work out the bug. I emailed the lady at Apple who has emailed me about paperwork etc and she said there is no tracking number. I'm going to have to ask the manager who sent me the welcome email yesterday because she did say there would be a tracking number. Our fedex guy doesn't mess around. If you don't answer the door within about thirty seconds he is gone. I just don't want him to show up here Saturday with it and miss him because then who knows when I would get my equipment! UGH!

Yes, Monday as well. :D

Hi all, sry to bug in again. But that feeling of confusion is nibbling at me again. I don't start the 12th, I start the 19th, and that was all that was told to me, nothing about orientation(s). Some people here say their orientations are 19th and 26th and then they start training sept. 2. But as far as I know from what I understand my first day/ training is 19th. So does anyone at this point know what they're doing as far as first actual day or any orientations they have? Is orientation a part of paid training? Does everyone have an orientation or only certain people?

Your first two days are New Employee Orientation. You should be getting an email from your manager sometime next week. I got mine yesterday for my start date of Monday. The email will cover all of the important dates coming up.

OK, that does make more sense to me now. It just got me thinking if Kelly people were diving into it differenly than those directly thru Apple.

I forgot you said you were through Kelly but I can't imagine it's going to be all that different. Maybe someone who has gone through Kelly can clarify as well.

even longer hours? [emphasis added]

In the coming weeks, Apple will be making significant enhancements and changes to its AppleCare support service, according to sources. Planned to go live as soon as Monday, August 12th is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week AppleCare support via online chat. Sources did warn that August 12th is a “target date” that could be pushed back.

Users who have support questions and issues at anytime of the day will now be able to have their concerns answered. Apple tested such a service over eight years ago, but next week’s scheduled rollout appears to be a major event for AppleCare that will go beyond just a pilot phase.

The 24/7 chat support will likely be applicable for both Mac and iOS Device users. As Apple’s iPad and iPhone hardware competition increases from companies such as Samsung, Apple will need to utilize its unique customer support prowess as a differentiating factor in the marketplace. 24/7 chat support via an easy-to-understand medium could assist in this.

If the 24/7 web chat support offering is successful, a similar program for phone support could be considered for the future.

I'm actually happy about this. I'd much prefer to have more options as far as shifts and to have the option to work overnights perhaps. Looking forward to starting with all of you who are coming in on Aug 19th. :)

So nervous

I applied through Apple for at home advisor and have went through the phone interview, the face time interview, as well as the request for background check. Today marks two weeks since my interview. How many of you who have went through all of these steps ended up with the position?

Sorry you are having problems with FedEx Manager. I didn't have any, I signed up, logged in and set my preferences. In fact I just now received 2 text alerts, (one for each package) with the tracking numbers and that FedEx will deliver them by 8pm tomorrow. FYI.... I am startiing 8/12.

I cannot tell you how unbelievably helpful this forum has been. I applied last night for at home advisor position and was contacted early this afternoon with my 1st phone interview. They scheduled my 2nd phone interview for tomorrow and I have been so nervous about it all day. The interview questions people here have provided have been priceless. I've made up a little cheat sheet with answers to study and have been on the support site looking around. The pay rate she mentioned on the phone was amazing and she mentioned if chosen the class would begin August 26th. Anyone else? I've never done a skype interview before, I'm just praying I do all right.. :)

I had a phone interview about 2 1/2 weeks ago and then followed up with a face time interview 2 weeks ago. I have been anxious to find out if I got the position or not. I got an email an hour before my face time interview to submit my resume and submit the application, that's where it gave me the option to agree to a background check, if I remember correctly. Interview was okay.. but haven't heard anything since. She said she would put it in for review. She also told me the training would start on the 26th. I don't know what to think since it's been 2 weeks since the ft interview

Here's my timeline:

7/9/13 10:45pm - Applied for position
7/10/13 1:15pm - Received phone call from recruiter and scheduled 2nd interview
7/11/13 12:00pm - 2nd interview via skype - was told will receive email to schedule 3rd interview
7/18/13 1:00pm - 3rd interview via skype - was told may take up to 2 weeks to hear anything.
7/18/13 4:10pm - Received hireright email
7/18/13 6:00pm - submitted background check
7/23/13 2:00pm - Background check completed
7/23/13 3:45pm - Received job offer call
7/25/13 2:00pm - Received official offer letter email
7/30/13 8:15am - Received email to schedule paperwork session
8/1/13 2:15pm - Received tracking number email for paperwork
8/2/13 10:00am - Received paperwork
8/2/13 2:00pm - Paperwork session via telephone
8/5/13 1:30pm - Mailed back completed paperwork
8/6/13 1:00pm - Paperwork received by Apple

I guess all I'm waiting for now is the login details for the HR page? If its been 2 weeks since your 2nd interview and you're still waiting for a 3rd, I'd shoot your recruiter a status check email. I'm in the 8/26 class.

Your timeline is basically exactly the same as mine. I am sending my paperwork back tomorrow and my class is the 8/26. We gonna be classmates :)
