I did my interview thru kellyconnect also. As explained to me, criminal background check is the longest wait for kelly services. And you should know if there's anything in there or not. They may move forward with you anyway, assuming it'll check out fine. That's the purpose of the 'conditional' offer. Did you receive one?

I did receive a conditional offer but when I called HR to check on my BG check she said they were no longer hiring for the apple project but during my interview the recruiter told me that I was moving forward with the process and that the first orientation would be 8/19 the second one would be 8/26 and training starts 9/2...Has anyone else went through this with kellyconnect and when does your training start???

No. Even though we started training over 2 weeks ago, theres another class they threw in ahead of us. So they were supposed to go live soon, but their nesting got extended a week. I'm about 2.5 weeks away from being live.

Very strange sequence of events so far.

That is very strange. Were you iOS b4 or CPU?

Get that raise yet ? :)

I will as soon as I send an e-mail stating that I accept the Tier 2 promotion. The raise is enough to make one seriously consider accepting the offer... but not enough to open an account in the Cayman's.

I'm still a bit reluctant to take calls for 40 hours instead of 20 but at least my schedule would be 5 days in a row on an early shift.

AG, I heard the raise is enough to make you seriously think about it! Friend of mine accepted it but then decided to do iOS chat instead

The only reason I'm hesitant to go the chat route is the possibility of getting 2nd shift or worse, graveyards. Honestly... the raise isn't super but I'd be on an 8 - 5 shift, which is fine. Being in Tier 2 also gives you more bargaining power when other jobs open up.

If you get hired as an AHA, are you able to relocate easily (since you are working from home) or do you need to get permission / put in for a transfer etc.

Thanks!

They say to ask permission and let them know before you move so they can approve, but my understanding is it is not an issue

I've looked into this since I'm seriously considering moving and it's not that difficult but does entail quite a bit of paperwork on Apple's end, pay scale, insurance, taxes... all the HR stuff. And you do have to get an OK from above beforehand.

Cool, thanks for the info!

Questions about hours... What if you are on the 5am shift.... If I have to take my daughter to school, can I clock out for 20 minutes and run her over etc? Or is it a solid 8 hours shift?

Thanks again.

Thanks for clarifying. I haven't looked into but was just going from what I had been told.

On a full shift, you get an hour unpaid for lunch and two paid 15 minute breaks. As far as I can tell, you have no say in when these breaks will be scheduled. The system spits out a schedule and you attempt to follow it.

The 'attempt' part is the other thing that would be working against you, using your example scenario. Even if your 15 minute break does happen to line up with the time you need to take your daughter to school (and it probably won't), you have no way of knowing when a geriatric lady with a shiny new iPhone will have you on the line for an hour while you teach her how to sync music with iTunes for her granddaughter. If that call comes in six minutes before your break is supposed to start, your break isn't starting until the call is over.

Your manager will have a software program that shows your status throughout the day and will know if you're adhering to your schedule.

tl;dr - No, you can't clock out for 20 minutes and take your daughter to school.

I didn't. I waited. Given the chance to do it again, I would open the boxes and get everything set up early. There would be no consequences and the first day would go more smoothly. I just wouldn't turn anything on until the first day of orientation.

Sorry to ask the same question again, but I would like to confirm if any Kelly advisor has applied directly to Apple after working with Kelly? How was your process? Did you inform them that you were working for Kelly. I just would like to know what suggested steps I should take.

I did. My manager said try not to open it. I think the point is that they was to pay you the time you spend fooling with it. I didnt take it out. I was looking for the surprise. the surprise is definitely not what i thought
