Oh ok...i though ipod was for everybody. as far as benefits, software and discounts I havent received any info on that. I never received my welcome email.I think the iPod Touch is for iOS advisors to familiarize themselves and try stuff out in iOS.
The surprise is nothing that extravagant. It's not any kind of cool Apple hardware.

The biggest surprise for me was just how awesome benefits are, discounts, and all of the free software. I feel like I've gone to Apple nerd heaven.
I take it you're CPU then.
You guys are in the class of 2013.

I totally want to do chat support at some point if this is what I get to deal with all day:

I did receive a conditional offer but when I called HR to check on my BG check she said they were no longer hiring for the apple project but during my interview the recruiter told me that I was moving forward with the process and that the first orientation would be 8/19 the second one would be 8/26 and training starts 9/2...Has anyone else went through this with kellyconnect and when does your training start???
do most T2 reps do 8-5?
Is there a good way to follow up after having applied to one of these positions?[/

My position is that if I'm going to be stuck doing phone work I'd at least like a queue that is NOT consumer level iOS. As far as Apple the company, I neither love it or hate it... it's a tech company and I just happen to work there at the moment. My 2 biggest gripes with Apple at this point are 1. prices and 2. the cult like atmosphere. The kool aid drinkers drive me nuts at times. I'm not really knocking it but rigid devotion to an ideology of any type does not sit well with me, be it political, religious or tech.
I absolutely do not want to take the types of calls I escalate. 40 hours would do me in for sure.
Still waiting to go to the career fair ... everyone is raving about it though. I'm guessing it's probably more propaganda than not... I'm such a cynic
I so love you AG! I've not gone either. It's not even on my schedule to go! Aug. 16, is the last day and I don't see on my schedule anywhere...
I feel as you that's is all prop!
I remember the days when I was all hyped up and looking at all the posts on here with reverence...hoping, praying to be able to say I work for Apple.
OOOH what do they say bout hindsight?
I went yesterday after backfill manager training.
It was OK.
Not as personal as I had hoped for and didn't have the booths I wanted to talk to.
You are training to be a manager?
At what times of the year does Apple Hire for this position?
I've seen it Re-posted since may
M-F days? I'd hang on to that sucker for as long as possible. If your next shift bid doesn't turn out so well then you could apply for chat support. The one huge caveat to going chat is the possibility of getting a graveyard shift.
I drive you crazy? LOL

Just installed Mavericks DP5 onto my mbp today.
I was one of the lucky ones who got an invite to download Mavericks yesterday.
Not you specifically but kool-aid drinkers in general. I can understand wanting to be a part of a corporate culture but the cult like mindset I see in many employees has me questioning their critical thinking skills. My new Tier 2 team manager actually said I should "reevaluate" where I wanted to go with Apple when I told her that I was NOT a kool-aid drinker and never will be.
Does no one see the irony in Apple's old "Think Different" slogan?
"Tell me," [Winston] said, "how soon will they shoot me?"
"It might be a long time," said O'Brien. "You are a difficult case. But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you."
