Countdown

As September 9th inches closer, I'm counting down the days not only to my start day but to August 23rd when I put in my two weeks notice at my current employer.

My excitement for the new challenge with Apple is tempered by the upcoming ending of my current employment. While I'm eagerly looking forward to leaving this place and coming home to work for apple, there are several issues I'm dreading. Policy at my current employer is a catch 22, failure to give two weeks notice and you may not be paid for your vacation days, giving your two weeks notice could end with being fired on the spot so you won't be working your last two weeks but you still get your vacation pay. Not everyone that gives notice is fired on the spot but it happens so It is a known unknown. I know what could happen but it is unknown what will happen to me when i give notice.

That's strange because during the 3rd interview they go over the position and tell you if its iOS or CPU... maybe you were so nervous you didn't listen to what she said. LOL

I am actually not a nervous person and I was taking down notes about the position, especially in the 2nd and 3rd. My 3rd interview was the most involved one and I had gotten a gentleman who went over what the 2nd said, but more so the depth of what the classes are, what the internet speed requires are, ect. I never got told which one it was for, but you know, I am sure it is going to say on the official letter and if all else fails, I will just ask for clarification later on.

edit: On my job offer too, she never made a mention of the position either which is odd now that I think of it. She opened right away with how they really loved my interview answers and if the pay was great. To which I think is very generous to someone like me and our call lasted less than 5 minutes.

Resume question

I applied on Friday. I didn't have access to my resume at the time so I entered my work history (AT&T & Sprint) along with a brief cover letter.

Has anyone gotten a call that has not submitted an actual resume?

There may be but to be honest I'm pretty sure the hiring craze has peaked. I think Apple wants to get everyone through training and on the phones by the time the 5s, iOS 7 and Mavericks gets released. That's just a guess on my part (I've been an AHA for a year) so it might behoove you to slap together a working resume and resubmit.

Thanks. I will go ahead and update my resume so that I can resubmit today.

August 26th

Question, for those that have a start date of 8/26, when should we expect to hear from our TM? Or, has anyone heard from their TM that's starting on 8/26? I'm just making sure I stay abreast of everything.

Thank you in advance!

I also start the 26th and was told that we will hear something the week before. Like Rydia have only received emails about making sure the paperwork is sent in by the 14th. Sending mine out in the morning :) see you all the 26th!

Random question for those of you out of training, if you linger/lurk this forum still, but what have your usual weekly hours been thus far? Holiday season hours would be neat to know too.

Hey Has anybody received something from apple about testing the Iwork for Icloud beta??? or is this something that random people just receive and has nothing to do with my employment?? and also I have a question for the people that work for apple already, have you gotten the official IOS 7 beta to download on your iphones/ipods etc so that you can start familiarizing yourselves? if not I am about to just download it from some torrent and do it that way, I didnt want to risk causing any issues on my phone but I am not trying to learn about IOS 7 a week before it drops with apple expecting us to be experts at it.

I don't think they expect anyone to be experts on it. They will go over the iOS itself and anything else in the training for the position. They will also give us all the info we need for the job.
