Hello first time posting, I have found this forum very helpful and have basically read it all. I am currently waiting to hear back from hire right, last week they contacted me about some paperwork that they needed so I am hoping they call me this week with a job offer. :) We'll see...

Sooo I dunno if you ever posted... what was the percentage increase in pay going to T2? Where do you go after that?

You go NOWHERE! Larry Ellison said so.

----------

3rd interview in 2 hrs. Wish me luck!

Nothing to wish you luck on. By now you have read this thread up and down and searched the entire forum. If you don't know to preach empathy and play down your intelligence while waiving Apple pom poms then.... well..... luck won't help.

All the questions asked are posted, and afterwards you will wait impatiently for a hireright interview. Will it comes typically in an hour or a week? Does the third interview mean you won't get "thanks for playing" email? The interviewer was vague and said, "perfect" after every response, is that good or bad?

Listen lucky, tell them you know the AngrilGerbil and RydiaRelm is your reference. A real man makes his own luck.

I don't know that I'd say that. If the recruiter passes the name along and gets another recruiter to reach out then it should all be fine. And even so, it's not like you got denied for an English speaking AHA position so I don't think your chances are blown.

Well I hope. She said she was emailing an English recruiter while we were speaking and to contact her in a week if I had not heard anything. She was very nice, but yeah I'm nervous about getting locked out.

LOL Wow Bossman, did you learn all of this after I told you to go search the forums for the questions that you typed yourself just a week or so ago? Is that when you decided to go an make YOUR own luck? What's up with the name dropping?

My anxious state was instantly overcome by a sense of IDGAF either way after reading your post. I was making fun of the quote from Titanic while also providing the same sarcasm you once blessed me with. I absolutely read through this thread and soaked up all the knowledge available. Regardless, the hiring process is absolutely piss poor. We are looking at a thread that has been viewed more times than the Kardashian sex tape. At some point a company has to look in the mirror and reevaluate what they are paying "recruiters" for... There was a guy on here that was passed over who had an epic rant regarding his qualifications. While I do believe the guy was a total douche, he sure did make a lot of sense.

Larry Ellison is my hero. Jobs was a terrible film... But I would give my big toes to lay with Mila Kunis and take an apple size bite out of her :apple:

Are we speaking of the guy who supposedly made 129000 a year but wanted an apple customer service job.... Pretty sure that guy was legit...... lol

I never quite understood his reasoning. He seemed to be passionate about the company, or products. It was clear why he was not given an opportunity, however maybe he truly was overqualified. Should have applied for another position. I have read that Apple insists on hiring externally instead of doing appropriate internal promotions. Larry Ellison should teach Tim Cook some lessons... :apple: without Steve Jobs  :apple: with Steve Jobs :) :apple: without Steve Jobs  ....... WHICH MEANS APPLE WITH LARRY ELLISON :D

No response? Anyone? Anyone?

Just curious:
Was anyone hired with little to no customer service experience?
Was recently laid off from a newspaper after 15+ years in that industry. I did have a 6-month stint in a Radio Shack about 10 years ago and 10 years in a grocery store many years ago.
I know my way in and out of any Mac or Windows machine and I'm great at explaining how things work. I own an iMac, iPhone, iPad, iPod, Airport Extreme and Apple TV. I'm the go-to tech guy for friends and family and I often solved tech problems at work. I explained all this in my cover letter.
I applied Monday and haven't heard back yet, but I guess that it sometimes takes awhile. I also applied for a Retail Specialist position, so maybe that's what's holding it up.
I hope my cover letter makes up for the lack of customer service experience. What do y'all think?

AHA no more

So here is what I learned in my brief time (6 weeks) as an Apple At Home Advisor. First, what happened to me: I'm 56 years old and it was more than I could handle on many levels. I have never had a job that stressed me out so much. I lost my appetite along with about 20 pounds (not a recommended way to diet), I lost sleep, I lost my sanity as every waking moment was invaded by thoughts of the job, the customers, the metrics, the unbelievably complicated corporate bureaucracy and more. I developed an enhanced gag-reflex that made it hard for me to brush my teeth without choking to death (which I have learned is brought on by extreme stress). So I quit today and they didn't want me to go. Couldn't even give them 2 weeks - I think a psychotic event would have resulted if I stayed.

The job itself seems somewhat simplistic - on the surface. The nightmare is trying to figure out the KBases, the SOPs (pages and pages long) and on top of that selling Applecare to the customers and being empathetic to a fault. And of course you are doing this in real time with a customer breathing down your neck. And the company is breathing down your neck to keep your call time low and the selling of AppleCare high. Plus, the always important Customer Satisfaction metric is hanging over your head like a sword. Having never worked in a call center or had a job at a giant corporation, none of this was a fit for me.

If you have done call center work before and are youngish then you can probably do this. If not, enter into this with careful consideration of what you will be doing. It's not for everybody, me in particular.

Don't get me wrong - this is all on me. Apple has their own way of doing things it's true, but I was the one who cratered here. Just wanted to give all of you newbies a heads up.

Back Ground Check

I finished the 2nd face-Time interview today So I just submitted the required back ground check info requested by HireRight. Anybody know if this is an indication of an offer?

Had my 2nd FaceTime interview today; still anxiously waiting on my HireRight email (hopefully). I don't know if it necessarily means an offer is coming, but its a step in the right direction. Congrats.

Did you work directly for apple or a vendor? Also, where you iOS or CPU?

I was iOS and worked for Apple, not Volt. One thing I forgot to mention is that you can't take ANY materials off your computer ever. No printing is allowed. You can't even view your schedule offline. Nor can you view much of the HR website except when you are on the clock. When you are in training you can't study any of your materials when you are off the clock - not allowed. I found that restriction particularly difficult, although I passed all the tests with flying colors.

How did it go? What kind of questions did they ask? I have my third interview tomorrow. I was told it would be in depth technical questions and last an hour. Just wanted to see what your experience was?

I'm so sorry to hear how your health has declined on account of the job, and really happy to hear you quit. Good for you! It can be so hard to leave something we think should be good for us, but in reality is just hurting us.

You're absolutely right that its not for everyone and that it has its stressors. I wish you a speedy recovery, a relaxing time off, and if you're looking for it, I hope you're able to find work that's more up your alley :)

If you do a search in this thread you'll find a post with ALL the interview questions (I think I'm having de-ja-vu right now)....

I actually just stumbled onto MrMacMacks awesome little page. Super helpful. Sorry If I sounded like I'm beating a dead horse, but even my friend told me they've changed the process from when he was hired a year ago. I was just excited to get a fresh perspective. My apologies.
