Well I didn't get the job. Got the email today. I don't know what I did wrong. I have worked on pcs since I was seven, and have did customer service for over 20 years. Went through all three interviews.. and nothing.

Background check and everything? Wow, sorry to hear that. You should reapply.

What's up with the job postings for this position? On Apple's site, the posting I applied for was dated July 26, then Aug. 15, now Aug. 20. Does this mean they can't find any qualified applicants? Meanwhile I haven't received a single phone call or email.

They actually rather you sit on the floor and drop acid

Ok. Well should I sit Indian Style or do you think Lotus works? Also, do you know where I can get Acid at? I think the combination of sitting on the floor, with the LSD will be perfect...just need to know the details.

Thanks :)

Don't think they got that far. I had phone interview, then face time interview, then another face time interview and finally the dreaded denial email. I'm pretty down about it...I am deserving of that job

So, I think you should reapply if you really want this job. Maybe, dumb it down a bit during your interview. As most have stated, this job is more customer service than it is tech talk. I think part of the interviews are a test to see if you will start into tech term, jargon, babble or, can speak in terms that can be understood by a 8 year old.
Good luck SuunyB

Well I got my login for mypage and read through all that stuff. My phone line will be turned on Monday and sometime during the week I'll receive my equipment........ Ugh, the waiting is horrible. I just want to work already. I finished my old job on May 30th and moved to a new state... I don't know anyone here except for my boyfriend so I really just want to start working again so I have something to do and money to spend! LOL..

Good luck let us know how ut goes eventually :)

Thanks, I agree. I will keep reapplying, as I know I am fit for this job. I am very customer service oriented. I did mortgage loans for 12 years, as well as home parties. I also sold cars for special financing. I could talk a customer into paying $500/mo for a car that I would pay over $250/mo for. 75% of my career background was commission based, so I worked extra hard to meet the quotas every month. It's a bit disheartening when you know your skills and background only to be turned down for the position. I really felt like I nailed the interview, but apparently I was over confident.

Seriously, the hiring criteria seems to be all over the map. I run across advisors that never should have been hired (including me) and have seen people with solid customer service backgrounds get turned away. I honestly think it boils down to whether your 2nd or 3rd interviewer takes a liking to you or not. I got hired after 2 interviews and I really didn't even want the job (I hate phones) and low and behold, a year later I'm still here and in Tier 2 :(

My 3rd interviewer said I dumbed it down way too much. He said my customer service was extremely high, I just needed to learn the products. The tech side is important. Do not just think empathy will get you by. Every interviewer is different. Listen to their story, they will let you know the path they took. Draw your conclusions from there.

I really question people who are supposed to help customers fix things when they can't do something simple like navigate to a webpage, or type in an account name correctly.....

There's an adage that goes,"The only stupid question is the one not asked.". Bollocks I say, I heard plenty of them in training. How some of those people got hired I really don't know. Now I take escalations from them because either 1. They don't know how to talk to customers or 2. They have no clue about how technology works. And here I thought I was a bad fit for the job.

They couldn't pay me enough to be a Team Manager... I'd end up going postal anyway.

Anyone know the average pay for a team manager?

Salaries are pretty hush hush around here but I'd guess low 40's. Requirements for TM are not very steep... just a 4 year degree and some CS experience. No degree needed if you started out as an AHA.

I do know that TM's work pretty hard so it's not a cake job.
