iTunes chat

I have my 2nd interview on Tuesday with the hiring manager.

Can I apply to the iTunes chat position if I'm not in the 100 mile range?
Is this position all typing no calls?
Can roommates both work at the same home address? 2 separate phone lines?

Got my two boxes from Apple today. I'm very excited for Monday.

My last day at my current job is tomorrow. I can't wait to say goodbye to my old job and say hello to Apple. :)

Hey guys. I'm thinking of applying to be an AHA. Has anyone else applied and asked for a chat position and gotten it? How is it? Are there different chat positions, like iTunes support, iPhone support, etc.. what should I choose? Can I choose? Any advice would be great!

For what it's worth, there was 3 weeks between my first and second interviews as well. I'd say the second is the most important, as the person I spoke with seemed to have the most say and it was the most in-depth interview. I didn't know you could hop into chat directly. I thought you had to do phones for 6 months first?

I'm not much for strictly chat support, just from my experience with Avast! Phone techs typically juggle 2-3 cases, whereas chat techs were required to juggle 6-7 people. Not sure if it's the same as an AHA, but I'm in no hurry to find out either :).

AHA phone advisors juggle one case at a time. I assume chat advisors handle more than one, but I'd take that gig in a heartbeat. Assuming that your Command-C and Command-V skills are in order, you've got it made. There is rarely anything unique in the Apple world, especially when it comes to the stuff that the iTunes people handle.

"I got charged twice for this Subway Surfer purchase."

"Please give me 3-5 minutes while I research this."

"Okay."

"I've refunded your purchase. This is a one time exception. Blah, blah, blah."

"Okay."

"Thanks for contacting Apple. Blah, blah, blah..."

For everyone waiting just read this forum and try not to let it stress you out. I think I have one of the more interesting timelines I've seen on here so far. I had my first interview a little over a week ago and my next one isn't till mid-September? Recruiter just told me to hang tight till we get it set up. I am being considered for the November class so I am assuming that's the 11/8 start date from the recent posts. The wait hasn't been the greatest thing but I just look at it as more time to prepare.

I could not agree with you more Token.... I had my first interview a week ago today (8/29) and got the email to confirm my second interview day and time, which has links contained in the end of the email to aid in the preparation A.K.A FAQ's....

I was told I would be in the 11/8 class should I make it all the way through. I am just chilling and preparing because stressing out cannot make the day come any faster.... I admit the waiting does suck, but everyone should look at it this way... You would still be waiting to a certain degree if it were any other company you applied too...

So take the time to prepare yourself and practice with a friend or family member that way when your day comes your nerves will not get the better of you. :)

Alight. We are CPU Sept 9th'ers, this is what I was hoping for!

I have asked this before never got a response.... and before anyone bites my head off I will admit that I am sure this was answered early on in this thread... I am tired at the moment and do not feel like searching for the answer (I am being lazy, there I admitted it)...

Here goes nothing...

When and how do you find out if you are iOS or CPU?

I have my 2nd interview on Tuesday with the hiring manager for iTunes chat!!!!!!! I will be reading this whole thread before then!! :D

Out of curiosity, is the pay about the same for itunes chat? I know for ios phone support it depends on the state your in, but it's still roughly $15 per hr.

Are you in the Sept 9 class? Does your TM's last name have a K in it? If so, you will be CPU.

I am a chatter. We can take up to two chats at a time. It isn't all copy and paste, mainly the intro and closing. It's not hard, but people are incredibly stupid. Some people shouldn't chat in because they can't express their issues via chat.

The setup for iTunes Store issues is stupid. If you catch lightning in a bottle, you can find the 'talk to Apple now' option through Expresslane. Or sometimes there's the scheduled call option, usually starting a week and a half into the future.

Other than that you get chat or email, and chat isn't even there 100% of the time. Regarding a double billing issue on my own account, I sent the email just like we're told to encourage customers to do. I never heard back and my account never was credited. I had a DSAT back in June from a customer who had the same experience. I got him to iTunes Store. He never heard back from them. He got a survey about me and, obviously, was not satisfied.

I guess what I'm saying is that those people who shouldn't be coming in via chat probably don't have any better options. The way the contact channels are made available to customers is amateurish at best. If the computer illiterate ones could make a phone call, the ones who do chat would be pretty easy to handle.

I am slated for the 11/8. I haven't had my second interview yet. However, in reading this thread some people have been iOS and others CPU and they have started on the same day, that why I asked how and/or when do you find out.

It's been a year but if I recall, my queue was listed in the actual job offer I got via phone and e-mail. Someone that was recently hired would probably know for sure.

Can you get in trouble for using flex time? Or would it be mentioned during a review?

I am using a tad less than I am allowed, but am just wondering if its gonna bite me in the butt later on.
