Wrong... Or misleading at best. What they want is a line that is used for At Home calls and nothing else. They were not referring to old analog modems that used dial up internet.

You are half right. You'll need a line for At Home calls only as well as a regular POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) line. It cannot be VOIP. You're not going to be making calls from it just receiving calls from the iLog system.

hello all, i have been following this post for a few weeks, finally decided to register and post. I completed my application around July 18, got first communication around 8/8....fist interview 8/13 second interview 8/14, invitation to complete application 8/14, 3rd interview 8/21....submitted background check 8/21......had some issues with verifying one of my past jobs, received a copy of background check on yesterday, now anxiously waiting for the call to say i got the job.....this seems to be normal though....should i be concerned. Background check was clear of any issues.

were you notified by the second interviewer that you were moving on to the next stage or did you just receive an email?

Pay dates

I found out that their next pay date is 8/14 and then 8/28, so every two weeks :) No information about schedules yet.

Hi All,

Also just accepted the offer on Monday, waiting on email. My recruiter did say that they are running behind and that I should receive it by Friday but if not then early next week. My start date is also 9/24.

For anyone already started or that knows-

what are the pay cycle dates? Do we get paid weekly or bi-weekly?

How are the schedules after training if you've gotten that far? Do you get the same days off every week or does it change?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for that! So their pay dates are on Tuesdays, not Friday like someone posted earlier?

@missremi- nope you shouldn't be concerned. I was notified the day after my background check was received by Apple but I think it depends on who your recruiter is, I've seen others say it was longer.

Honestly I think it's the same with all the staffing agencies for apple. The company I work for right now until I start apple does the same thing. The pay isn't as bad but they don't have paid vacation or sick days and their insurance is a joke. I'm so glad to finally be working straight through apple. Honestly it's the way to go.

You're working for Apple through a staffing company other than Kelly? Would you mind telling us which company it is? Minimum wage where I live is $9.04 so the $9.15 Kelly is offering is just not worth it. I'm wondering if the company you are through pays more.

I've applied directly at Apple but not heard anything back yet. Trying to find all available avenues to get in the door. Thanks.

Did I say August?? Sorry, when I went in to get my paperwork signed off on, the HR person checked the pay dates and told me 9/14 and 9/28, and since I was starting on 9/10 it was the start of the pay period and so my 1st check on 9/28 would be a full 2 week check.

No worries, I'm just happy to get paid.

Woot! Just received my offer letter. Immediately replied with "I Accept". Got the phone call three days ago. My recruiter said it would be here by today. The people I've spoken with have been on point throughout the process. When they said something would happen in a certain time frame, it did.

Best wishes to everyone. I know this process can be unsettling at times. Pure anxiety even.

POTS Landline options??

I heard this stated during our paperwork session; that it must be digital or analog phone line, no VOIP. I have not ordered a POTS line in years. We have ATT or Windstream here; and they range from $17-$34 just for a landline. Does anyone have any suggestions on other companies?

Questions posed vary based on the interviewing style of the individual interviewer. Some had direct Q&A and others underwent role-playing techniques. IMHO, I would just be prepared to answer all sample questions (and more) in any manner as presented. In short, the posters have provided very good study material and you cannot go wrong with taking advantage of their generosity. ;) Go :apple:!!!

Appreciate it, just not being a Mac guy in the past causes me a bit of concern. I'm not familiar with Mac mail and other Apple devices. Hoping to get buy on my Windows based knowledge, and being very eager to learn the Apple world.

That is my question as well. Who the hell has a POTS line anymore? In my area, I have Time Warner, and they are digital. My wife works from home doing a similar job, and she operates using our TW digital phone, and our broadband connection.

Don't forget the 9/17 class as well! So got my packet, but have not gotten an email to schedule a paperwork call. Do I need to wait to complete the paperwork before doing the I-9 like the instructions say or can I get that done?

I do. I've kept an analog line simply for emergencies. Stripped all the features and it's only $6 with AT&T where I live. Need to be able to reach 911. If you don't have electricity or the cell phone towers are acting up, it's nice to have a reliable standby. I can't recall not having a dial tone for any reason.

Pay update

I know we were all probably told 14 /hr, but it seems as things have progressed, folks are being offered higher amounts. Anyone want to fess up and give us all some hope? Are they hitting $16?

I keep reading different takes on it so I must ask is it true that cable phone line isunacceptable? I don't see why it would be. Cable is the only option where I live. Odd I know.

Yeah I know it's becoming harded to find landline providers. One company where I lived wants $35/month, thats a joke. Att is like $20/month. I have a designated number through my internet provider that is VOIP, Apple says they want POTS, but I think the main reason is if the power goes out they willh have agents that can at least answer the calls.

Just got my offer email, yay! Feel good going into the weekend having something in writing :D.

When I've worked for other at home customer service gigs, when they say POTS they mean no caller ID, no voice mail, no call waiting. So that is what I took Apple to mean. Canceled those services on my existing phone line today so hopefully that will meet the requirements. Will ask first chance and report back though.

edit to add: I also have digital phone line thru cable

Just criminal and employment.
