Ugh. Hireright told me background check was completed and I just got email response from Apple saying its not completed yet. Called hireright back and they said they are still waiting on info from a court record for speeding ticket in 2011. Ugh why different stories from hireright!

Was your email in response to the one you sent?

I also requested a status of my background check to see where things stood. I got a response via e-mail from them saying

Followed by another e-mail from hireright customer support saying this.

All I got when I contacted HireRight was a survey :( Was your initial request from Apple or HireRight?

All I got when I contacted HireRight was a survey :(

I got one of those as well. ;)

I phoned hireright first, and that initiated the e-mails from them. After receiving the ones I pasted above, I sent an e-mail to the hiring person that had sent me the e-mails setting up my interviews etc. I have not heard anything from that yet.

I was told Apple doesn't check credit for employment. Just employment and criminal

I am not sure what they check. I just pasted the relevant part of the e-mail here. In truth there was no report attached to the e-mail just some definitions and explanations of rights after what I had pasted.

I also just heard back from the person I contacted at apple. She said I should hear something back from recruiting in the next week or so.

I am supposed to be slated for the 10/22 class

Okay, just called HireRight again. I was told the background was completed on Sept. 14 and submitted back to Apple for further review. This time they asked if I wanted a copy.

I'm glad your person at Apple got back to you. I haven't heard from either person I contacted.

Well the wording of the second e-mail that I had received from hireright. The one saying that I could be denied employment, has me a little worried.

For Asurion, go to its main website and apply through it because I do not think location is relevant or it has all of the states listed the job announcement on its main job/career opportunities webpage.

http://www.asurionforce.com/apply_now.htm

My wife works for Asurion, it does matter where you live. For whatever reason they only hire from certain locations. Pay sucks $9.50, angry customers, but decent benefits. You must have your own computer and headset.

Just criminal and employment is correct. They won't even look at employment older than 5 yrs, and criminal past 7 yrs.

I'm just frustrated with hireright. It's not hard to do a search and see the court records from Meigs county Ohio was from a speeding ticket

Did you get copy of the full background check?

The e-mail said it contained a background check information but there wasn't any. I know they contacted at least one of my employers. but as far as criminal record in the last 7 years I don't think I have even had a ticket.

I've had like 5 speeding tickets in last 7 years and there is no way speeding tickets can cause one to not get employment. I saw a copy of a friends BG check and it looks like they called auto system for employment verification

There should have been a link from hireright to click on for the BG report. I would call hireright and ask them to send you the report. You log in with email address and last 4 of SSN

Not going to worry about it to much, I have a backup plan in the works as well in case I get a rejection letter from apple. But I would prefer the apple position.

From all the posts, sounds like hireright is a disaster!

i'd say it's Apple ... hireright usually only takes a few days to complete the background checks unless there's something that needs to be verified and you need to show proof.

apple usually takes about a week to 2 weeks afterwards to let you know anything

----------

For those of you with a customer service background, American Express is hiring for Home Based Customer Service. The pay starts at 15.75

companies like those usually to extensive background checks a long with credit checks

Well, that's still 35 cents more than Kelly, including benefits. A job from home that pays over minimum wage plus benefits is better than no job at all. Besides, when you think about the costs of commuting and lunch expenses, it sort of offsets itself any.

If you go to the website, Asurion lists several locations in various states:

You will get all types of personalities to service at any customer-oriented work environment. The key is developing a knack for coping with differing personalities. I adopted the coin, "flexing with their personality styles to match." I may have read more into your responsive post. If so, my apologies in advance.
