I had all but given up hope but my original class starting 10/8 . Just got a call from Apple informing me I got the job starting 10/29 !:apple:
So some 10/8 people are being put in later classes? My friend has hope then, she was slated for 10/8 but hasn't heard anything. I'm slated for 10/22 and haven't heard yet either :(

Yippee!

Got the background check completed and all came out well. Received an offer call asking if I was still interested in the position. All I could think was "Well DUH of course" lol ... All set for the 11/5 training class! I have to provide proof of my phone/internet service to make sure it meets requirements..does anyone know if we just send a copy of the bill or should I contact my provider? I am sooooooo uber excited I could poop twice and die lol :D

Interview is over! I'm very much relieved. My interviewer said that I should know one way or the other by mid-week, Friday at the latest.

He also confirmed for me that the extra phone line needs to be operational by the first day of training, and that my position is CPU support - no iOS, Apple TV, Airport Express, etc.

We are in the same boat! Did your interviewer have a shaved head?

Louisville, KY, Still haven't heard back

Has anyone here applied for the at home advisor position in Louisville, KY. I applied through the apple jobs website on 9/24 and besides the automatic email thanking me I haven't heard anything. I have a pretty strong I.T. background and some customer service experience and thought this would atleast get me an interview. Just wondering how long I should expect to wait. Maybe I'm just being impatient. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Either that, or short hair. I don't know if his webcam was laggy or if it's because I had to use my Asus netbook for the video call, but he was usually a blur of pixels.

He had a lot of books on shelves behind him, I can tell you that.

Well good luck! Tell me if you get your BC email!

Looks like we are having the same "problem". I applied 9/25 for Allentown, PA and haven't heard anything yet either. Hopefully they don't let us wait that long! With the holidays approaching you would think they need more advisors too! Let me know if you hear anything. I'll do the same for you. And going through all this information posted on the forum gives you so much valuable information already. Good luck!

Any advise on questions for 3rd interview? I have 3rd interview scheduled for Wednesday. I have read through entire thread and noted lots of 1st and 2nd interview questions, but not too many on the 3rd interview w/ hiring manager. This forum has been very invaluable on the process and I appreciate all of the information. Hoping to join some of you soon in a training class! Thanks! :apple:

CPU support is AppleCare. I guess you mean you're surprised to learn you're not supporting iOS devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch).

CPU is the support group for all of the desktops and laptops. AppleCare is the general term for ALL support groups, CPU, iOS, iTunes, OSX Server etc. I'd really be surprised if a new hire got on the CPU support team because a lot of current employees want to work that cue... primarily because it's more tech and less customer service. Most of the new people go in the iOS (mostly iPhone) support group.

I never thought I's catch myself agreeing with sk2bbb but he/she is spot on here. Just be personable, show a desire to learn and know how to turn on a computer and you'll do fine.

Technical know-how is NOT a requirement for this job.

I'm in CPU as well, which I am happy about.

Congrats! You guys lucked out... everyone wants to get on the CPU team, including me. I'll try and stick it out with iOS but I already started sending resumes out again. This is an OK work from home gig but I am NOT a customer service type.

Thanks for the info:), i'll definitely let you know if I hear anything. I'm very thankful for this thread, it's nice to know what to expect when going through the hiring process. Also, I googled Apple at home advisor interview questions, copied down every one and typed out my answers for them, so I would be prepared. I tend to over plan things:p

On a side note, I did get an email for an invitation only hiring event at my local apple store, but it's an hour drive each way for me and I'd much rather work from the comfort of my own home.

I was told that I would be in CPU support group as well.
All of my technical questions were related to OSX , nothing on IOS.
