Yes, because his sexuality stops him from designing a good product...
There isn't enough money in the Mac Mini to warrant a full redesign, having non-upgradeable RAM was an attempt to increase the money in it.
And iPad Mini!

visualize Tim and Barney Frank going at it and tell me that is awesome.
I think most gay people are not so tired of hearing this.
If heterosexuals were in the minority and if they were facing discrimination or ridicule throughout their lives, and if it were difficult for them to admit that they are heterosexuals, then I am sure you would be happy to hear from some "important people" that they are heterosexual.
No it's not. Skin color is preset and an obvious fact. This is a mindset and some mindsets can be detrimental.
Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Steve Jobs.
Lisa Brennan-Jobs, the daughter of Steve Jobs.
These people act, to some extent, as an announcement of sexuality. They are simply not seen as such due to heterosexuality being treated as normal, so acting on the impulse to have sex with, and conceive children with someone of the opposite sex as an announcement of ones sexuality.
I want to live in a world where straight is the norm and gay is the exception.
I want to live ina world where the gay agenda is not pushed to everyone.
I want to live in a world that makes the gay the outcast and not the person that believes it is wrong.
-_-
If I say more than that, I'll get quote-attacked...
If you read the article, that's what he said.
Your comments are debatable. Hispanics are minorities... I don't hear them publicly announcing that they are Hispanic. Blacks are minorities, I don't hear them publically announcing that they are 'African American'.
There are MANY minority groups in the world. Billionaires are minorities... and you don't hear them announcing to the world that they are a billionaire.
To many... people who publicly announce their status, to most, seems arrogant and egotistical.
Here's a thought: Do you think it would be right if the person on your street, in your neighborhood, leaves a flyer in everyone's mailbox announcing that he is the richest person in your neighborhood?

If it makes no difference why does he need to publicly come out? Everybody knew or suspected he was gay. Nobody cares. It has no bearing on his job as CEO of Apple.
I feel the same way. Don't feel his sexuality is relevant to running Apple and the statement left me -_- as well.

Good for him.
Its 2014 though. You'd think we were past having to fight for equality.
You do know the iPhone 6 is outselling all the other ones now right ?
Young gay teens attempt to kill themselves every day because people just like you shove their sexuality in their faces as if it's a bad thing. He's trying to help those people that people like YOU attack. If it's too much to handle, buy another brand. Or grow up.
Entirely Tim's decision to comment on this. .
I wonder if the Samsung CEO will suddenly become gay too.
Tim - focus on making a decent upgradable Mac Mini instead of your orientation.
This has nothing to do with normal. Sexual orientation is not about normal or abnormal. Some people have blue eyes and some people have brown eyes. Some people are gay. They were born with their sexual orientation. They are not abnormal. Get a clue!
And whoever said "tolerant" is something that the LGBT community conjures up, no it's not. Tolerance is tolerance. No one should be bullied, discriminated against because of their sexual orientation anymore than they should be discriminated against because of their ethnicity, etc.
To those of you who can't condone it because of your religion, then your religion has taught you the wrong things. Just like it taught the wrong thing to those who thought lynching or slavery was okay.
Good for Tim. Eventually, we may be a society that is truly the "land of the free."

All teens commit suicide, regardless if they are gay or not.
Quit trying to box the world into being gay.
