I'm glad he felt comfortable coming out publicly. Some of the comments here on MR are just sad.

It must be hell to be an iPhone-loving homophobe right about now.

;)

I have fantastic news for you. It's possible for you to live in that world RIGHT NOW. In fact, there are tons of places you can live!

Kenya maybe, Sudan? Most of central Africa has strict anti gay laws. You can chose most Muslim nations. Iran and Egypt have been know to execute people suspected of being gay. China? Russia of course, their laws seem to be exactly in line with your creed. North Korea is another big one.

I'm kinda jealous by how many adventures you are going have on your tour of hate.

And if none of those places seem like a nice place to live, I do have one more place you can go...

Bravo sir (or madame). Bravo.

This. Pretty much everyone knew he was gay anyway so I see this as a distraction more than anything else. His privacy is gone now.

I think he was doing this in preparation for something public. He will probably be seen at a public event very soon with another man. He doesn't want the speculation of that sighting to steal away from anything else going on and lead t on interrogation.

If something like this was leaked at the Apple Watch release, it would actually overshadow the product itself. Best to put the speculation to rest sooner or later.

Sorry buddy, one day you'll wake up and find you've been living on the wrong side of history, and the wrong side of morality. I feel sorry for you.

Not likely. And to be honest, I don't feel sorry for you. Show your wife or girlfriend your posts, and chances are she'll kick you where it hurts because she's disgusted with you.

You're really stretching it there...

Not at all. There's a reason why many closeted people have married someone of the opposite sex - it's to publicly demonstrate a socially-approved sexual orientation.

It's not just about being gay... it really isn't. The world is bigger than that. EVERYONE is fighting some personal battle with society. Everyone...

"Everyone is fighting some personal battle with society, and all battles are equivalent, therefore this has nothing to do with being gay and nobody should ever say they are gay ever. Sincerely, vampyr."

Way to completely avoid the real debate here. I bet you sleep real good at night.

Are billionaires ever oppressed or beaten up or killing themselves because they have too much money? Are they raised to believe they cannot ever be a normal/successful/happy/etc person if they chose "that" lifestyle? Are they ever denied promotions at work or good marks in school?

Because this **** still really happens in 2014 for way too many people stuck in that "minorities" category.

yes, yes and yes.

Why do you think billionaries drive bullet proof cars and have security cameras around their property, and have security personell?

I've seen kids beaten up because they were fat. I've seen kids beaten up because they were skinny. I've even seen kids shunned in school because they had cancer or were handicapped.
It has nothing to do with being gay. The world will ALWAYS be unequal, and there will ALWAYS be people you run into who don't accept you. Whether for being gay, or being tall, or being short, or for missing teeth, or for being poor, or even for being rich.

Get over yourself.

What kind of union?

I'm perplexed as well. Jony Ive isn't gay. Unless my gaydar is on the fritz.

Even if he was, both men are intelligent enough not to get involved with one another considering their professional relationship.

You obviously have no clue whatsoever what gay people are going through before they are able to come out.

I'm a white straight male. I don't see the major personal battles I'm fighting. Kids made fun of me at school, because I wore glasses and wasn't very athletic. That's the only thing that comes to my mind. But nothing compared to what many gay people go through when they wonder whether or not to come out to their parents or to their friends. Not comparable at all. I have no idea what personal battles you are fighting, but your "EVERYONE" statement is nonsense.

Sorry, but I'm done buying Apple products as long as Tim Cook is CEO. Using his public position to push the agenda of hate and intolerancs aka. the gay agenda, is disgusting. Keep your bizarre sexual behavior to yourself, Tim, nobody wants to hear about it.

Those Android tablets are looking better and better.

Again, just exactly which bizarre sexual behavior did he force on you?

To the posters in this thread who speak out against homosexuality, by calling it "gross" or "unnatural" is just speaking out of fear. Either they are gay themselves, bashing it, or they are ignorant because they fear it and don't truly understand it.

Or maybe they just think it is gross?
I think fat people having sex is gross... I think people eating cow brains and bull testicles is gross too...

Now if they think it is gross and therefore should be illegal that is totally different. Just because something thinks something is gross shouldn't mean that they think people shouldn't have the right to do it.

I certainly support him as CEO of Apple. But certainly don't support his homosexuality.

Can you please explain this to me? You don't like homosexuals or you don't support them to come out of closet?

It's going to be even more hellish when they discover that Microsoft and Google are huge supporters of equality too. They're going to have to use tin cans and string for a phone.

+100000

He's an ok CEO, and for a few yet as there have been some speculations of his orientation, so for me this changes nothing about my opinion about him. Now other people who didn't know this will be shocked and want to not support Apple at all anymore. As long as he keeps on working at Apple and stays "single" then everything will be ok (probably doesnt have time for a relationship, and I hope he doesn't)

The TL;DR Version:

Good CEO, pretty much knew this, as long as no relationship, everything is good

What a disgusting thing to say. It's okay for him to be gay as long as he's alone? You're really a terrible person.

"Everyone is equally marginalized, and life chances are distributed equally. There has never been social progress for anyone ever, and nothing will ever change. Your pal, vampyr."

You've clearly never belonged to a group who has suffered persecution. This question answers itself.

Well if I was a Christian I guess I would be part of the group it's being persecuted. Again you didn't answer the question because you can't.
