I really hope my order status updates to "Shipped" soon (it's already left the Harrisburg warehouse) :rolleyes: I would much rather print out the form to stick on my door like I did for my MacBook last year than go to the UPS center and pick it up there.

Ah yes! We totally agree. To be perfectly clear - I should have said that NO ONE got a promise order delivery date of launch day for the Jet Black 7+ 128GB (which was still an Apple epic fail as both website and KeyNote speech promised launch day for all models). All delivery dates said later. Important data I left out.

I've been pre-ordering since it became available and you're right. If you have a confirmation of a date.. there is 99.9% chance you get it on the promised date.
 
Space Gray 8, 256. Apple still shows preparing, but UPS tracking by reference shows a departure scan from Shanghai. She's en route.

As others have said, don't worry about the preparing for shipment status.. At least not yet..

Or lose your phone as I have done a couple of times since Friday :(. But I have it and its PERFECT!

So unless I hear otherwise, I just go to the Apple Store at 10:30 (my pick up time) on Friday and it will be there? I keep checking for preparing for shipment. Now I won't :).

99.9% is correct! I was one of the people who preordered the 7+ last year with a launch day delivery date, only to be derailed by the typhoon. My phone ended up coming one day later. So if everything goes smoothly and Mother Nature cooperates, anyone with a 9/22 delivery date should get their phone on time.

It was quite interesting watching my phone make the rounds in China and Taiwan trying to evade the typhoon.

I hope I will get my 8+ a bit earlier. This is my first upgrade since late 2014 and I'm pretty excited to get a new phone.

I'm gaming quite a bit on my phone and I felt like an 8+ will do this job better than a X in terms of screen surface usability.

Personally I am no fan of the iPhone X because of its asymmetric design. Don't like it.
And the bezels of iPhone 8+ will help when using it in landscape for gaming etc.

I can understand this... I mean they have their normal workload that they're expected to do, AND do all these thousands of iPhones... why not spread it out over a few more days, lol.
 
I've got friends who deliver for FedEx and UPS, and they hate iPhone launch day mainly because they have to leave so many "attempted delivery" notices, and it slows them down.

We all did hear about it a year or two but when you consider the number of phones shipped, the number slipping through is still lose to zero to none. Did not want to give the poster hope of getting his early. By tonight or tomorrow we will see out 8, 8+ and AW3 shipped. FedEx and UPS will do what they are paid to do.

You can bet that both shipper would pay a huge penalty to screw up the Apple deliveries.

And yep, I'm going to follow the X tracking thread just for fun lol. Also I can't wait for those first impression threads with the "gate" issues. Remember "yellow gate"? That sucked.

finally got an update from UPS...phones still in China lol. No wonder I couldn't figure out the flights...it wasn't on one!

Now that the phones have True Tone, "yellow gate" will be back in force. :)

Reference number>my phone number>change shipping dates to this week and still nothing
