Just curious, but did any of the people who contacted UPS and did a "Hold for Pickup" experience any delay notice?
Like pickup not until Monday?
Thinking of doing this next year.

I did that this year. No delay got the package just after the place opened. I think it is best if you pick up from a UPS CC location. Might get it sooner than a UPS store.

Hmmm...you are right. Apple states one thing, and UPS states another. Then again nothing has changed from UPS since 1:24am so im sure the system is probably bogged down where Apple.com is making an educated guess since delivery date is today. Well see i guess.

UPDATE: Out for delivery! They must have heard me. Happy iPhone day everyone!

Do you get proof of Apple Care once you pick up in store? (I know yours is being delivered tomorrow. Trying to decide if they are doing that for all phones or just the ones being delivered by UPS, not pick up in store)

Whenever I've purchased items in the store with Apple Care, I would get an email later the same day or the next basically the same as the one I received. I don't think you necessarily need it since it's tied to the serial number though

Glad to hear these stories of pickups this year. I don’t think I’d ever do it, though, as I remember the whole iPhone 6 launch debacle. If you weren’t there to physically sign for it, you had to go pick it up at the UPS CC, resulting in a huge influx of people who ordered. I remember waiting for a good hour and a half that night.

I'm in Spring, TX and so bummed I'm not getting the option to follow the delivery, even after the status changed to out for delivery! I'm just refreshing the status like every 5 minutes.

I had a similar issue. UPS claims it was because the name on my My Choice profile was different than the name on the package. Apple dropped my middle name and suffix.

Which is weird because 99% of the packages I get don't list my full name.

Omg! UPS literally stopped in front of my house, idled the truck for 30 secs. Left the truck to check the packages in the back and then left without delivering my phone. I know it's the right truck because it's showing up on the Follow My Delivery page. Is that normal??

Thought I'd jump on with my "anti" delivery day story.
Had phone held at CC center in Phoenix.
Phone arrived there at 3am
Opened at 8
Called UPS to make sure ready to pick up. "Yep they have it there.
" says UPS guy
Arrive at CC at 820
Only two people in front Awesome!
30 minutes later I'm up.
Hand her my ID
She turns and looks at table behind her at 5 boxes.
Then she says "it's not up here, want me to call you today or Monday when it gets up here from the back?"
WTF?
Driving back to work
No phone
I was laughing because I was thinking... I just watched you take 30 minutes to wait on 2 customers. And now your going to remember to call me?
I now know where the DMV workers go to die.

Mine just changed to out for delivery in Los Angeles!

I could probably drive to the truck in 5 minutes, but there are a whole lot of houses between here and there!
