Has any one been able to cancel an IUP preorder phone after CC was charged and then went and just picked up a phone?
Hi, I ordered the X with the Apple Upgrade program last week. My expected delivery was at the first week of December. I put the new on this morning and they're in front of the store (yesterday actually) talking about no line with in store orders. I go online, sure enough they have stock on a SG 256. I spent an hour trying to get Apple support. I finally figured out I had to cancel my existing order and place a new order for store pick up. It went through AFTER I got a confirmation that my original order was cancelled. This came with yet another credit pull! Thanks Cook! Two credit pulls in a week for a phone. You may want to just go to the store and see if they can perform a swap out. I will ask when I go at 1:00 today.

I’m sure UPS has lost my phone.... sitting TWO DAYS now in Korea with a promised Monday delivery day. No way it will make it now.

What makes me furious is my local Apple store has one but there’s no way to cancel this iUP phone and go pick it up

Now that UPS has lost my phone in Korea I imagine it’s goinf to be a very long time for UPS to admit they lost it, report to Apple and then get Apple to send me another one.

This crap didn’t happen when FedEx was used.

So... darn... mad I’m not getting the phone Monday!

Thanks for nothing, UPS !!!

Must chill .... I'm in the same boat but I wouldn't say it's lost just yet - there is still time to make a delivery and the tracking could just be slow to update.

Still nothing?....mine bumped quite a bit over night. Looks like it went from Alaska, to Kentucky (cleared US customs there), Iowa, and now in Boise!
Sorry to hear about your delay.....hope it was a glitch and your phone is actually state side!

Good Luck! Hope you have had some progress and your phone is state side!

Nothing yet either it is stateside and will show at Louisville Ky main hub soon -- where they usually ship my apple stuff from. It might be on the UPS flight from Korea UPS67 to Anchorage that then goes to Louisville by midnight today CDT. I still think that by now the date of delivery would change if there were problems with the many phones not scanned/reported moved on. It seems strange there are several groups of this that have moved and some of us not but often the problem with UPS tracking servers on a busy time (launch day yesterday and other phones moving this weekend). I find FedEx usually has better tracking servers the worse ones are of course USPS ones that sometimes are really good and sometimes package wonders around, shows up finally out of blue. My mail carrier says the USPS servers are just insane ;-)

Sometimes scans are off and weird during shipping. Like mine for example. Once it was delivered a lot for updated. During the process a sticker was placed on my package and it covered some of the barcode, so I think a lot of the automated scans just didn't happen, causing me to not see much along the way.

It stressful to say the least. But I do agree with you that a lot can happen that doesn't show up and UPS is really good at this stuff. I would keep faith as long as the delivery dates continues to say what you are expecting.

Yes all kinds of strange things happen with UPS tracking during major shipments like apple iPhones. I have hear some say that tracking stops in East Asia somewhere and phone still shows up on delivery day with not one bit of tracking data between. If the phones were lost I agree by now UPS probably would have changed our status from delivery on November 6 to something else ;-). I am going to try and be positive and suffer using my 7Plus 256 for a bit longer LOL such first world problems ha ha

My phone made it to Alaska from Korea and now it is stuck in Alaska for the past day. According to UPS it is just sitting there, but still says Monday delivery. Wonder when it will move and where will it go next?

I wonder if it is really there or already in hub ready to send to you tomorrow. I find most of my iPhones on UPS have gone to Louisville and they either send to Indianapolis on Sunday -- hour form me, or depending on Logistics to a hub down I-57 in Illinois about same distance from me. Then Sunday night early Monday the packages make journey to my town in east central Illinois and are out for delivery by 9 AM or so.

Hopefully once our phones make it to the central hub of UPS that they will use for us to ship out (smaller shipments by plane or in my case always usually truck) we will probably see some data finally.

Doing the same suffering on my ole 7Plus 256 in the mean time such 1st world problems LOL! Given I was going to have to wait til Thanksgiving week this will work out.

As many have pointed out and we have experienced before the tracking does get wonky like this when Apple ships big iPhone orders with UPS especially yesterday and Thursday where tons of X's were going to first day folks in the launch. I am hoping that later in weekend data may start to catch up and some of us will see a scan somewhere ;-)

Oh, also. I ordered mine through the Apple Store App using the AT&T Next program. Got confirmation email at 12:06 PST.

So not sure if or how the iUp program would affect priority, but did not seem to affect me getting mine yesterday.

Just as an example. Here is my tracking. Before I got the text message saying my package was ready for pickup the only thing in the system was the highlighted rows. So the full tracking didn't even appear until it was being held at the CC.

There were no UPS flights that arrived in New Orleans until after my arrival scan. There was one charter flight that arrived the evening before from Louisville and that is my best guess on how it got here as Louisville to New Orleans is at least two days on ground transport for UPS.

Again, my message is don't despair because of scans. As long as your delivery date doesn't change you will be okay. There are people in the thread that showed scans hopping all over the country sometimes going in the wrong direction and they still received their phones as promised.

Got my phone yesterday but was able to get on the Apple Store app and reserve one for pickup today for my wife. I would have just done that instead of waking up at midnight if I had known they would be available! Two of the theee stores in the Portland area still have all the options available if anyone else is looking.

Was driving home yesterday and on a whim, decided to stop at Target and they had a 256GB in stock, so I grabbed it and cancelled one of my orders. This morning, the Apple Store in Chicago was showing devices in stock, so I cancelled my other and drive and picked it up. Sure beats the three week wait I had via Apple and ATT Next.

My phone made it safe...the wife came through. Now just got to wait until I’m back home to get my hands on it.

This is going to be a long 9 Days...

Try to be patience for those still waiting. UPS is frustrating at times but they will come through. They delivered mine on a Saturday instead of a business day. They ARE going the extra mile for iPhone deliveries. See you next pre-order!!!

I was in the 11/17-11/24 delivery period. I checked out the inventory in the twin cities and many stores had iPhone X's. I promptly ordered two for pickup this evening and cancelled the two on order. I am officially now moving of this thread to ones related to customization and accessories. Apple seems to have diverted more inventory to the physical stores and made Apple fans wait. It was not a good move after the App and web site was down. In any case sharing of information on Macrumors is very helpful. I was able to score 2 devices today. This time the Mac "rumor" came out true:) Good luck guys.

No, 2 or even more credit checks from the same lender within 1-30 days is considered a single request for credit. It is not Tim Cook's fault that you are impatient, next year just roll the dice and don't pre-order and just line up outside the store.

Still not sure -- lack of scans and phones already there or what?

Anyway there is the UPS67 now on way to Anchorage and then to Louisville by midnight CDT (actually CST shortly after that)

UPS67 louisvile.jpg

And then there is this new one you found which is another UPS99 and it also ends up in Louisville:

UPS67 louisvile.jpg

One would think eventually ours will show in Louisville with one of these or another. I sure hope it does not get to delivers on 6th and no info just waiting all day like some have experienced in some years...

time will tell.

I am seriously wondering for the 11 or whatever is next fall if I like my X enough to just pay it off and wait til the 12, save my payments in bank and go for a 12 in 2019 sometime. This preorder stuff is painful and I am not fond of the issues with UPS scan data ;-). I am beginning to wonder why I put myself thu this every year LOL

Okay!! We're rid of all those launch day recipient lucky dogs!

Now round 2.. 11/2-11/10.. anybody see any shipping change messages yet? Get another email??

Just wanted to mention something I noticed. I have an iPad Pro 10.5”. I have True Tone turned on and screen looks great (120hz helps). iPhone X actually looks better to me with True Tone turned off. Might just be me, but screen looks a little on the yellow side with it turned on. I’ll take screenshots later if anyone wants. Try toggling it off and see if you like it better. I left it on for my iPad Pro, but I think I’ll leave it off for my iPhone X. Anyone else notice this?

Yes, I did and I agree. With true tone turned I sensed yellowish cast. I turned if off. I like it a lot better that way. I don't believe I have true tone on my iPad Pro (12.9).

Not quite, some of us are still hanging around. ;)

BTW, I was at my local Apple Store today (pick up a Series 3 Apple Watch to replace the 1st one) and there was a short line. Everyone in line got an iPhone X, one day after the official launch. I enjoyed the hoopla!

No its Tim Cook's fault for having such a poor, uninformative way of buying a product. The second pull was soft I'm told.
