Sounds perfect. Mine left Danvile at 8 and then went to Decatur at 9:49 what kind of stupid logistics is that? Drove right by Champaign-Urbana to get to Decatur now 57 miles away I suppose it was a large truck and they do not break up stuff til them seems stupid to me.

Now back to around 3PM when both Fedex and UPS hit my neighborhood. Well I am a private home not a important business LOL

I have seen them do this several times not sure why stuff that goes to Danville just 27 miles east has to go 81 miles to the SW and then come back. The logistics system would drive me nuts ;-) Anyway the phone got to town about 2 AM and is at our local hub about 3 miles form house so it will be here today and I can play and forget this all til next fall LOL. I do still wonder why I do preorder but the IUP plan was nice last fall and many of us got updated especially if we were on early -- I managed to finally get on 12 minutes past hour

I had a delivery date of Nov 17-24, IUP renewal. Still reads as that on the Apple Website, but my card was charged for the tax amount only. The status is now “Preparing for Shipment.” Does this mean I should expect my phone soon?

Mine usually delivers 3-4 PM. I see tons of trucks on launch day last year going by, much more than usual in a weekday but no mine does not come til 4 PM, 9 PM would be worse so I guess I should not complain. Interesting my login on MyUPS had timed out so I was logged out the tracking said by 3 PM but there was button for exact time. I log back in and it goes back to end of day about as bad as timing of air or furnace guy usually a 4 hour window but not more precise ;-)

They don’t charge your card until the item ships, so if your card was charged than it has entered the shipping stage and you should get an email shortly with a tracking number.
 
Off to bed now. Phone left Ontario hub and is now in its final destination place in Van Nuys, waiting to be out for delivery. When I get up I will hopefully not have to wait too long for UPS man to show up. Congrats to everybody else getting their phones tomorrow.
 
11/17-24 group. I was expecting an update but still nothing. I'm so frustrated. I was really hoping to get my phone before the 10th but now it seems impossible. Seems that I will be getting mine on the 17th. Is the first time for me that Apple didn't ship early

Ordered from Apple, every order thru carrier has been delayed. I only order direct from Apple now!
 
My wait for the X almost over delivers today. FYI I was preapproved on IUP on Monday before preorders, but could not get on til 12 minutes past so my original date of delivery was November 17-24, I then got bumped to the famous 16-24 date and that sat for a bit. early in am of of November two like many IUP folks I got the shipment email from apple and it estimated November 8 but looking and UPS said 6-8 but eventually that settled on November 6. My card was also charged at that point for first payment including taxes. Might give others a timeline when you start to see card activity and such.

I am reading on the ATT thread about Stock of X now appearing in a bunch of Apple Stores and Targets - and that, if your preorder is an upgrade with ATT (and purchased with ATT app) all you have to do is cancel the pre order and your upgrade is IMMEDIATELY available again for in store purchasing on NEXT.

But I'm wondering about those of us who did upgrading via Apple app. Can we also cancel pre-order in the Apple Store app and our upgrade be "immediately available" again?

Anyone try this yet - or last year?

I am part of the IUP and I was 11/16-11/24 and was bumped up to delivery this Thursday. I am pretty sure they are making IUP members priority. I have a few friends who paid full price with the same ship dates and theirs have not moved either.

Yeah UPS does some odd things but in the end they usually know what the most efficient route is. I was one that didn’t get on until 12 mins past too. Next time maybe I’ll VPN to the West Coast or something. In the end we are getting the phone 11 days earlier than expected and based upon my location there hasn’t been any that I could have picked up locally anyway.

I tried it for my wife. Cancelled my Apple.com order and Tried to order Online for in store pick up. The next upgrade did not come back right away. Called att. They said in their system it looks good. Called Apple they said that it can take up to 24 hours before you can re order. We waited the 24 hours and still nothing. Called back to Apple and they told me it was an att issue. Finally got through to att and they said if you cancel the Apple order it can take 72 hours for the information to get back to att. So to expedite the process after you cancel with Apple call att. We finally got it reset. So now we can try and grab one in the stores.

Has anyone used the Follow My Delivery beta (for those of us lucky enough) to find your truck and get your delivery early? I know in the end I'll wait, but curious.

Silver 256 tmobile paid in full and I got charged for it saturday morning, but still no change in status... still says order processing 11/27-24 delivery :(. So frustrated

So my status did change to “shipped” this morning (nov 6). UPS doesn’t have a delivery date. How long has it been taking people to receive the phone once they received notification that it has shipped?
 
Update: UPS now says on schedule for delivery 11/9. Woohoo!

Ok I just got an email and text from MyUPS , my phone is in delivery truck it had option and link (also was in my text from UPS). I clicked and it showed the map, my location and where the truck is (still at the loading dock but it is in truck they do not go out til 9AM I bet for businesses because that is when they are open.

Here is mail I got and the link is there, you cannot do this until they actually send the text/email giving the Follow My Delivery Map. the link to the beta page only works with actual email from UPS with the package you can track

Here is what mine looks like supposedly will update as it moves, now I can complain about the logistics of how it goes to businesses first LOL (which I knew) At least this seems to indicate that end of day is basically 3 PM which usually is my time. - 4 occasionally

Ok now it is moving and sure enough my tracking page says it is now out for delivery! Take a look at map change:

Very interesting the first place is not businesses but what I would call one of our upper class high end neighborhoods with very expensive houses far above my budget ;-). Probably some special deliveries I suppose who really knows the logic behind deliveries but it gives me something fun to watch if you are bored waiting for your phone LOL

Ok now it is in regular residential area SW of me less than mile so maybe this truck is residential only truck very interesting to see deliveries

It’s here driver had some overnight in my area and then on to business next so I got it early. I got excited when he moved into my neighborhood I knew I scored early. Now for the fun!!!

Yes after watching that video on UPS/Fedex logistics I understand a bit more, kinda scary that the computers are directing so much. maybe they want to kill us with stress and take over LOL new conspiracy theory LOL

Say I read about people changing the ip they are on to get in faster. But all I have is my WIFI Comcast connection, and 1-2 bars of AT&T cell sometimes pretty weak. How does one VPN with an iPhone, we did some of that with IT volunteer work I did for 10 years at a large Mac only institution but I am not there so do not have that any longer. Is there something special to do to VPN with iPhone, any apps, you have to have a place (work) where you have VPN access?
 
I ordered my Space Gray 256 ATT model via Apple on 10/27 at 6:01 am, originally scheduled for delivery in mid-december, but just shipped and will arrive 11/10, so naturally, I am happy. It does indeed seem, that IUP, as I am, are being prioritized drastically over other modes of ordering....but it could just be they ramped up production faster than anticipated...

Ordered 315am on 10/27 - via IUP; delay due to Apple store not open. Had 11/17-24 delivery for 256GB silver. Moved up to 11/16-11/24. The no change until yesterday. My cc was charged Sunday for the tax. By Sunday night it was changed to Preparing for shipping. Now states Shipped 11/6 with delivery of 11/10. Seems like a long time if it ships today. Hang in there everyone!
