One thing I learned from the Iphone 7+ pre-order is that Apple is controlling UPS delivery. Apple has the power to tell them to hold shipments, space them out, etc as part of THEIR contract with UPS on shipment. It all depends on what Apple has promised you and what their contract with UPS is.UPS has a flight from Louisville to PHX and my phone is not on it. Phone has been in Kentucky since early Sunday morning so kinda bummed. Looks like the 16th date really is going to stand.
Mine finally left Korea earlier today (after sitting there since last Wednesday). Made it to Alaska, and then left Alaska in a matter of an hour (at 9:47AM according to UPS tracking). Not entirely sure where it's going now. Was originally slated for delivery today, now changed to Thursday. I'm in Dallas.

I was originally on the Nov. 17-24 range and when Apple emailed the ship notice, it says Delivers Nov. 16. UPS tracking says Scheduled delivery information is not available at this time. Please check back later. My phone is on the UPS53 flight that arrives in about an hour or so. It will be interesting to see if it goes out for delivery tomorrow, or they hold it until Thursday...
That's what happened with me, up until it got to Alaska, and it says Thursday, but if it's already out of Alaska, I wonder if I'll get it sooner or not. Hard to tell until I find out where it's going - and when it gets there.
My lady friend's phone departed Alaska, but still shows no delivery date. Apple.com shows the 17th (which was originally shown as the 14th) We leave for Thanksgiving that day, so praying it arrives by the 16th. Not sure what our backup plan is, if it somehow does deliver the 17th.
Same with me. Delivery to Los Angeles.

If it is in Alaska, it should get it within the next 48 hours (depends where you live and capacity issues). Wed looks feasible.

Once it leaves Anchorage it goes very fast -- 24 to 48 hours
If it is going to miss you then hold it at a UPS location near you and pick it up when you get back.
Mine finally arrived to Alaska on 1:08pm pst so I wonder how long it takes to get thru this port and we ship to Kentucky? Does it depend on which flights are available?
My Apple order is scheduled to be delivered on Dec 6th to the 13th. I read on Reddit that packages are possibly being sped up. Is that plausible for mine to happen? The post was about some fellow who had theirs bumped up from Dec 1st to a recent time it was delivered not too long ago.

I looked into that. UPS only holds it for like 5 days or some really low amount of days. We don't come back till the Sunday after Thanksgiving. like 10 days or so.
Looks like the Vegas flight out of KY is UPS892… which departs at 3:44am, so it should make it to Vegas tomorrow…

My order was placed on 3:45 am 10/27 (problems with at&t) and got delivery date from 12/6 to 12/12. Moved to 12/4 to 12/11 a few days ago. Today it changed to preparing to ship and credit card got charged. I guess I will receive it sooner. Still on apple shows the same delivery date as the last one. I will keep you updated.
Set a vacation hold. It stops all deliveries for the dates specified. You get to pick the date when you want them delivered after the hold. This will cover you the entire time you are gone.
Ups will fly most deliveries to their Kentucky Hub, then go to California, but still should reach Ca by Thursday for both of you.
Do you base that on the 1:08 pm arrival time ? Reason I ask is that it still shows it in Alaska and not left yet but it has arrived but there must be some lag on updates getting out maybe.
