Still no T-Mobile iPhone Xs anywhere in the Los Angeles area (and I have been setting the alarm for 6 am). I saw them all over the East Coast and Midwest but not here. Getting so antsy.

Words of advice: get the Verizon model since it works w/ T-Mobile, the device offers the Qualcomm modem, it's easier to get, and the device has more longevity if you ever switch companies.

I went to one of the Apple stores here in Las Vegas this morning at 9:15 am. I was the first one there. Someone else joined me about a minute later. We had both been previously told to show up before they open and we could get one of the phones that get delivered to them daily--but they don't know what they will get, so it's still a gamble. Well about 5 minutes later one of the workers came outside and said that the phone being delivered today had already been sold. I asked how that was and he said that people have been lining up AT 5 A.M. and that someone from the store took their names at 9 a.m. and they then left, to return later when the phones arrive.

5 A.M.!!!! No offense to anyone here if you would do that but I think that's just crazy. I came home and ordered from the Apple app on my phone. Delivery date says week of 12/11/2017. Of course I would prefer to have one now but 5 a.m.??? No.

No offense taken and no offense to you either but you don’t want it badly enough. I would gladly grab my camping chair, a good book and line up at 5am to snag one of these babies - no question, especially to avoid waiting just under a month for one.

Got my phone this morning...

Going through the process of backing up my old phone. Singing out of services then wiping. Then restoring to my new phone.

You know if you sign out of services on your old phone before wiping, there's less likely a chance the old phone will get text messages and second sign-on authorizations. It's just a thing I do. Probably overkill.

So my phone shipped on Friday and I have a delivery date for next Friday the 24th. Can’t wait to play around with it next weekend!

I would have but you need a Verizon account to even purchase for pickup. Not as concerned about the differences between Qualcomm and Intel this year, everything I’ve seen indicates minimal differences other than cdma which I don’t need. Not worth setting up a Verizon account.

Luckily, a t mobile silver came up at The Grove and I was able to snag it, but overall very few t mobile phones available in the LA area this week.

The UPS app says shows my shipment for Tuesday delivery. But when I go into the details I see “Shipment Schedule: Information Unavailable”. Apple store app says the delivery date is Thursday and not Tuesday. It’s just all confusing.

Does anyone have insight as to what might be happening?

You no longer need Verizon account information to purchase via Apple.com for the iPhone X. Try it, you will like the ease of purchasing a Verizon iPhone X.

Spent the last week getting up at 6:00 am GMT to check on availability for the upgrade program, nothing showing up for the south west, so on Saturday morning I looked further afield. Secured an iPhone 10 in Birmingham and made the 2.5 hour journey with the wife. Was surprised to hear that on Friday they sold 900 iPhone X from that store alone and they had no walk in availability at all.

Very efficient process, was seen immediately although my time slot was in the afternoon. You can't beat Apple customer service.

Had a great day, doing the Christmas Markets after that, wife enjoyed herself as well, all those shops.

Great day by all and got the TEN!

Great! That’s one of the main reasons I stick with Apple and the iPhone. What other company offers what Apple does if something is wrong with your device? I have multiple Apple stores near me and my 7 died a couple months ago. Didn’t make an appointment just walked in. Had to wait of course but was issued a replacement.

If you persist, in the first 2 weeks you will pick up a unit . I've got my last 3 phones from apple retail, given up on online. Though saying that I did get my X for launch day online, which surprised me.

Santa came early this year. Congratulations on the successful upgrade and for making the iPhone run into a nice family outing.

Hi fam, hope you all got your phones already or will be getting them soon!!

As expected, tons of stores have availability this morning for in store pickup. But also as expected, the space gray seems to be the most popular choice and not many stores have those in stock.

The 64GB looks to be the least popular bc they have been available all week at stores by me. These stores have a few silvers in stock too but the space gray availibility comes and goes.

I’ve had my silver 256gb for 1 week now and my wife’s had hers for 5 days and we both absolutely love these phones. We are coming from the 6 and the 6 plus so the difference in speed is absolutely noticeable.

Anyway, hope you guys are having a good weekend.

For those that ordered online, if your order still has not shipped, you can cancel your order and reserve for in store pickup today!! Just throwing this out there again since availability seems to be improving.

Cheers fam.

An apple store employee told me that many people come in at 5am daily, buy up as many units and they and their families can, then ship them abroad to be sold for $3k-$5k in countries that do not have the 10 available yet.

I tried to go to the store a couple weeks back and there was an entire family on line - mom, dad, grandparents and like a 10 year old on line - and they bought all the units the store had in stock for the day which was not many.

Then I went back the following week and the same family was there buying a ton of units again. But luckily I had one reserved so I got one. You should check your local apple store inventory early in the mornings and when you see your phone available, select it for pickup. This way, you won't be online at 5am and you're not waiting until the middle of december for your phone. just a thought.

Maybe 5am is crazy for a phone but some people have to have it for one reason or another. I would have waited to get one too but like you, I’m not getting on line at 5am to MAYBE have a chance at getting one. I ultimately reserved a phone and picked it up at 11am last week. I was in and out in 15 mins total.

Looks like mine is due tomorrow. What an improvement from mid December I was quoted when I ordered mid-morning the first day. There were 2 long periods of no data, one clearing customs in China and one after it left Anchorage. We have an unprecedented level of visibility into the shipment of these things, not counting those who figure out how to track the UPS flights. Back in the day we had to go stand in line at UPS because we weren't home when the delivery guy showed up unexpectedly.

I have the same screenshot...we must have been on the same pallet. UPS confirmed a delivery window of 3-7pm tomorrow. A far cry from last week's 1-4 Dec. Just in time for the upcoming four-day weekend.

So it seems to me that the ship dates are tied to carriers. AT&T specific devices seem to be on the far end of the 2-3 weeks with Verizon shipping at the shorter 2 weeks. Would folks agree?
