My order says it's still at the local airport or arrived at the airport since yesterday. I would think that they would send it to the warehouse overnight to get ready for delivery today, but probably will still early this morning.

Mines all ready for pick up at the UPS CC!! Since they open at 10 am to 12:30 pm, I will probably go during my lunch break. Otherwise, they are open again from 4 pm to 6 pm, so I'll have to pick it up then.
How long did it takes after the status preparing to ship changes in the order and look over UPS/fedex by the reference number? mine changes last night but still can't find anything... (to be delivered on 26)
Well last time the Apple store here in Bath had it set up outside with belt partitions back and forth continuing inside…
This year it was all contained inside.
So… I think they were not expecting a huge turnout.
Thanks for that. My BF has a 6 and normally doesn’t update until I badger him into it (lol), so I’ll tell him to hold tight on 10 for now.
I've gotten 2 emails from Apple this morning with the subject "iPhone 8 is here!" Stop taunting me Apple, my phone is out for delivery.
Out for delivery!!! I don’t get to work (where it’s being delivered) for another 45 minutes though. Tempted to go in early just to wait lol!
I updated my 6 to ios11 on launch day. The drag is really not terrible. I notice it most when flipping apps (ex sending a photo via message from photos) and anything that requires a little extra processing. I was certain I was going to hate it, and actually enjoy it now. Excited to see its performance on my 8 and to take advantage of some of the extras, but after originally telling my wife to hold off updating her 6, I changed my recommendation.
TL;DR
If you are a heavy user and push the processing of your pre 7 iphone...i would hold out on updating to ios11...but 'normal' use performs just fine IMO.
The two years I stood in line for mine on launch day - I always had my phone before all the pre-order people. Shipping companies earliest drop offs are 10am-ish. I'd always walk out of the Apple Store with my phone about 8:30am at the latest. But line standing for an hour or so is a bit of a hassle. But for those of us truly on the Apple "drug".., feels good to be the first to hold one. 
I kind of wish I had routed mine to work. UPS delivers around 11 here, and usually around 3 at home. Figured I wouldnt be able to do much until I got home anyway....but i just want to hold it.
